I would never have thought of that
Could that be why the full moon affects me so
I have some Irish blood
Im serious
I have heard of the werewolves of ossery before but never looked it up. I just did some research and found this:

Dragonspawn's link was very interesting. I found it especially interesting that the curse is described as a holy curse.
That is interesting, so much so that I think I'm going to overload myself on the Internet compiling all this stuff. So much for not having a life, I'd rather be doing this anyway.
My best friend is half Irish and she's got a few... she also has these extra canines that have grown with the regular ones, and I've seen her use them... straight carnivorous, it's scary.
being irish and raised on all the myths! yes, there are werewolves in ireland! surprise!
I learned that a while back, and that's what started my fascination of lycan's, really.
Links i've found about this:

Thanks Sam! I had not seen those links. I will admit to knowing nothing of this myth until this forum post. Now I find myself fascinated with the entire christian twist on the myth. Now I can study some more.
i have not watched the movie but inresting. i have watched thet movie acareain werewofle in londan. it's cool
i do beleive in werewolfs and if it is the irish in you then i guess i better watch out cause im part irish..........
3/4 irish here . I have heard of this yes . What I am told , they were immune to pain on the battlefield .They had also achieved super human senses and strength, wich gave them an outright noticable advantage over others , raising obvious suspicions . Each warrior had a spirit wolf , wich was combined with thier being or human spirit . Through this belief , they became some of the most feared people ever to grace a battlefield. What do I think? Belief / faith is power
I dont really research lycans that much i think they are cool but im a vampire person...
that is a loving and sad story that carries much of the truth with it.
This was most likely a case of man/ woman , in harmony with nature , and awareness of ones true animal instincts on a greater level . Making them the ultimate prehistoric style warriors . These were probobly the type of warriors that would eat you ,after they defeated you in battle, especially if hunger came into play....lol
Wow... I would have never thought that werewolves originated in ireland...This is very interesting though... I think I'll Look it up!
I knew of this story from my great grandmother and it was told to her by her grandmotehr and mother.. adn so on it was told through our family...
I always loved that story.
I found the portion of the curse being done by a priest of the church fascinating.
Although I am not from irish descent, I believe that the traits may be true. I am from Puerto Rico where santeria became an integral part of our lives. Although I came to believe while growing up that werewolves/lycans are actually true.
