i have heard throughout the ages that vampires are soulless damned creatures, i do not think that is true. is it possible for a vampire to be christian for example? to give your soul to the lord if,indeed,you have no soul. You had a soul when you were mortal, so where does the soul go when you change? Hell? if you are a non-beleiver i would think so ,but if you have religion ane your soul is promised to Heaven, what happens if you get bite, are you still damned, i admit i still dont know everything about how the rules work, so i humblely ask the elders and mentors of this site to teach and for everyone to state their opinion

I Think You Keep Your Soul, Its Just That It Is Damned To Hell Forever. So If, for example, you were to die as a vampire, you would then lose your soul.

Basically I Think Your Soul Belongs To Hell With No Chance Of Holy Redemption, After You Are Bitten.

The whole question is dependent on if there really are"souls." Without getting into a philosophical and religious discussion, one could argue that there are no such thing as a "souls." The other problem I have with answering the question is that I do not believe modern day vampires to be that different than regular humans.

I asked my elders this same question and even if you disagree I ask you respect the teachings of the 7 great dragons...

It is taught that your spirit (soul) is your energy, it enlivens you, and can not be lost, not ever.

Well, unless you actually "die", I don't think your soul goes anywhere because technically you are still alive.

I personally don't think you lose your soul when you change into a vampire. It's just tweaked a little, in a way.

thats a great question...and i think that you dont lose your soul...you just change and become a different person...and the person you become will be damned to hell

How i look at it is that when you were alive your soul was promised to heaven but in the mean time your bitten which ultimately says now you are dead but damned. your damned your soul is not going to heaven.

I think that if losing your soul is part of the turning process, then it is sundered (i think that is the correct word) or destroyed. I am not sure how this is done. I agree with you, if you have devoted you life and sould to God and then you get bitten your soul should not be destroyed.

Some say the souls are in heaven, some say their in hell, personally i believe if you've been bad in your life then your souls is doomed to walk the earth in torment for all eternity, but if you've been good then your soul goes to all the places you've ever been happy!!

Well there have been many theories on souls like the egyptians belived that thier are several parts of the soul the Ka, Ba, Khaibit, Akhu, Sahu, Sekhem, Ab, Ren, they belived that thier soul and their body would be with them in the after life it is a really complex area I will accually be placing more information on my page about the souls, but I want to answer the question first.

souls leave the body after death, if u belive that u infact have a soul if that infact truely exists to u, agian many things in this world that apear to be real arent real, what is real? something u can touch, taste, smell mmmm a totally different animal I think i'll place something in the forum about that! and well I havn't got a true answer but many have told me that souls go to limbo for judgement when u die/ but while u are still living the soul doesn't leave ur body untill u die that is if we truely belive that souls exist/ u can belive in what ever u feel if u truely belive u r a christian then u are Ur mind makes it what it is if u truely belive, and u have the power to do and think and belive what ever u want. i don't give my oppinon b/c i don't have a reall belive at this moment i am open to many things at this time. will u let me know what u get out of this thread in the end i'd like to know what your thoughts will be so i can add that wo what i already know and hopefully make an assumption that is logical?

your soul is never beyond redemption.. so as long as your a living vampire your soul stays with you.

I believe as long as there is breath in your body the soul still resides within each of us. can not be stole or die leaving us a mindless zombie with no emotion or acts of our limbs. for our souls are like our battery pacts in life that keeps us going.

if you beleive in the after life i think you just take your soul with you.....

i think u still have a soul but it cannot move on so reincarnation is out of the question as such when the vampire dies their soul dies with them

I don't think that you loose your soul when you are turned into a Vampire. It just gets changed in some way.

I think some of these responses have not quite addressed the issue that, first of all, vampires are not the only creatures considered soulless by some. If you believe vampires are soulless, this title applies but if you believe vampires still have their souls, this discussion applies to some other group.

I personally don't know but my current hypothesis is that vampires still have their souls so that's the end of that discussions. However, in cases such as zombies (I mean like in Haiti, not "Dawn of the Dead") I would think that the soul would go wherever it is intended to given the circumstances of the person's life. The zombie is simply the same body given a different consciousness.

Just another thought to consider.

When one follows a path which does no harm to any other I would say that was a blessing.

I do not feel that anyone/thing is soulless. I do believe that certain things can change your soul such as being evil or being good and how you live your life before death. As for vamps well just because you have changed or live as one I do not see why you would be soulless. It is just different as to again how you choose to live

but in all honesty i can't see how or even why a vampire would want to belong to such a religion like christianity and in where the souls go well i always asumed that they transform with the awakenig of the vampire into energy that is dispersed.

I think we are all vampire ,we give and take energy in whatever form.

Perhaps the only difference between folk who consider they are vampire and others is that ..........others give and take unknowingly, instinctivly in order to function.

vampires dont lose their souls.your soul is also what makes you human i think.you look at how many people in this world who have no respect for life,those that get delight through actually killing someone.if anything these are the true undead,you lose your humanity,then you really are just a walking corpse.

I think that vampires are already damned when there alive, so their soul is stuck in the body and when they die it goes to where it belongs depending how much good or bad the vampire does.

well... i'm agnostic, so i don't know if one can become "damned" by anything other than being a horrible person... i think that being a vampire has nothing to do with it... you could be a vampire and still be an outstanding "person"....

I believe that what people call a soul is really energy, and when you die your soul/energy is released and it does not go to a heaven or to a hell and then you are reincarnated into another body...

I believe that your soul is whats makes you a whole person but when you turned the soul is turned to a negative side more so then loosing it. but its only my belief

When I started getting into vampires I noticed that vampires are thought to not have souls but perhaps do they? Maybe they deny it because it is a human trait and they are not human, they like to see themselves as superior. I don't know...just a different outlook.

Well, the "soul" questions have been around since religion began. Which, by the way, was started by primative men. Do I believe in souls, absolutely... Gotta have something to believe in. A vamp soul..Now that is interesting. I'm with others that say that modern vamps are quite in the "norm" as far as humans are concerned. Are they damned? Who's place is that to say? Not Mine...

If one is a believer in God and you get "turned" then you don't lose that bond..... but I have to agree with some of the other posts in that who knows if a soul is a real thing or if it is something humanity says we have to make ourselves far more "superior" than other creatures..... I'm going to do a little more research and see if anything else of importance comes up.....
