I would like to hear your views on the above.

Several months ago I encountered some people who believed that although human in body they carried with them not one Spirit but two or more.

Human, vampire, Pheonix, Dragon etc.

Are you asking if we are one or know of a person like this?

Or, do we believe in duality?

They are not spirits but known as "Archetypes." And yes everyone has more than one. Everyone or at least most people have an inner struggle to deal with also. Spirit verses mind/ body. This may explain the duality.

i agree with Billy. we all have an inner battle and the same side does not always win.

Well I found out what it means, sadly I still don't understand.

eg: x tells me he has spirit of Vampire and Phoenix as well as human, when I asked him to explain he said that he felt he had been all three in a previous life and remnants had come with him to this one in order to share / add to experiences.

I would be grateful if you could help me to understand this.

i belive everyone has more than one enity in their being.

I would say that your friend is having a difficult time balancing his spirit and his body as Billy suggested. X is using the archetype of vampire and phoenix to explain how it feels inside. I believe that we bring information about previous lives to our new ones so x may believe this to be true also. If so, who is to say x wasn’t a vampire and a phoenix in previous lives?

I have heard of this too but never bothered to find out much about it.

Billy has explained it really well - its the multiple 'spirits' that allow people to be a vampire and a soldier (to use Billy's examples)

that seems to back up the idea of the multiple spirit being an archetype

like its already mention, sounds like multiple personality symbdrom, which I know I amnot the only one, to suffer from, my partner had to deal with them, but the funny part is that he has also 3, one was scary, but one of mine always confronted him, kind a like a Mr hide and Dr Jerkyl, me I have a young child that surfacing when fear came in, laughing at everything. Still one is a demon(incubus), that at times its hard to hold the balance when they dont just stay in balance with one another and start to fight then if oen takes over I am a total freak, and not in a good way, my partner use to tell me, at times it was confusing him.

Would you say then that mythes and archetypes are related ?

So....imagine the whole Soul as a diamond with many facets.

Each facet controling a life in more than one dimension.

What if the life forms of these other dimensions were .....Vampire, Dragon, etc.

The more life forms operating, the greater amount of life experience and knowledge gained.

Imagine psychic leakage and glimpses of those other life connections.

Perhaps that would explain why some folk feel they are human plus....

Billy defines it very well (as usual) :) I agree that we can have many remnants of past lives we just have to learn how to cope/deal with them in the present life.

I am so appreciative of being a human and the gift that it is, all of me is totally homosapien, tried and true. I think too many people focus on all these other things instead embracing what we do know 100%.

I think you can want to be one thing or the other, but all in all, you just have the one spirit. You're just the one thing. Although, just because you are human (or w/e) doesnt mean your personality or spirit cannot feel partially related to another type.
Just in my opinion, in order to make up one person or thing, you need a variety of "ingredients" or "parts". Though some may be more dominant then others.

the idea of duality seems quite interesting given all forms don't collide with each other causing an inner chaos i think that this could defintely be confusing to ones own soul but ideally it is something plaussable,i have to admit there have been times when i have felt certian characteristics in me stronger than another but never thought of it as duality.

Just because we have many sides does not mean that we have multiple spirits within us. I think we all struggle with ourselves, but that is human nature.

re: what thedame has just said.....not inside us, but perhaps we have access to ?

some "people" can be able to carry more then one soul or mystical being within that one body
but you might be born with it, or you have been possesd to carry that other one inside of you to give it a proper home

I think & believe that its possible your friend cant seem to balance his/her spirit/mind to make everything sensible in their life. I do also believe in cell memories where a person carries memories & traits from a past life (if anyone believes in that) into this new life & new body.

Once i find the link for cell memories i will be glad to post it on here. Hopefully itll explain more of what i was trying to explain earlier.

I have heard of this yet I do not really believe it is so. I mean we have different sides of ourselves yet to actually have all these spirits and stuff in us, well not unless we are possessed Just my point of view on this.

I believe it,as I do.when one or another is out everything from facial,eyes stance,attitude changes.People who know me have seen this many times even my voice changes.So I do believe it is possible as I'm sure many on here will not agree with me and say it's just another part of my Character.

I wasn't thinking along the lines of possession, more bringing into play aspects of ourselves, probably from other lives.

X seems perfectly rational and sane no sign of anything amiss, just states that other types are there for certain purpose.

Sometimes people think of duality of the spirit as the male and female selves within you-sort of the yin and yang. We all wear masks like when your at work, at home, with lover, here on VR and so forth. Some believe in past lives where you may have been someone else, if that is true and you had like 10 past lives-are they different people? I believe people just want things so badly they believe in it, the mind is very powerful.

I feel that it is so.

I personally believe that how we feel about ourselves and the world changes from day to day in minor ways, as I am sure we have all experienced at some point, and that can make us believe that we have different roles in life.

I personally think this is a mental state where some people honestly believe that these roles are different "forces" or "forms" but I do not personally agree with this.

A dual enity, like a split personality? do believe a mortal may contain more than one enity in their bodies or minds.

I knew this before we began, but was quite astonished to get a visual picture in my mind.

Somehow I don't feel it's important to give serious thinking time to .....was it real or not......it simply was, and if you were wondering....it was a wolf, and she was beautiful.

I believe that there are many aspects of our soul. Whether or not they are different spirits or not I do not know.

I believe it is very possible. I myself carry the spirit of a vampire. I know several other people who do as well. I also once knew someone who carried the spirit of a lycan. Anything is possible...

yes its true, at least for me...there are 4 parts of my soul, and no i do not mean a multiple personalities gig...lol

i have heard of such cultures that have certian festivals and they take upon gods and goddesses personifications during these rituals believing that these spirits have entered into them.

Yes I know what you mean but I was thinking more of a piece of Soul that has always been a part of you.

in response to a message from the person who started this thread, i shall post again. you wished to know of the 4 parts i spoke of in my first post. there is this part of my self, the vampiric part of me (most know as Aryahanna, or Arianna), and two more parts. One being a quiet, stoic protectoress who goes by Bree, and another part that for my own protection i can only make known to those i have come to trust. they are all present, active and fully aware of each other. if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

I have met many who claim it...but truely only a few who I felt were the beings they said they were.But in myth and legend...changling/werecreatures etc abound.In Native american beliefs they feel you can be both.So I feel there is some viladity to this

i believe it is imperative to my path. the parts make the whole and contain all that i need in order to accomplish the tasks of my path. they also aid in how, when and why to use my "gifts".

Everything has a balance. So duality of things is all around us. What is Good if there would be no Evil?

I believe we have several energies or spirits within us, that helps do what must be done in our lives.

According to research that I have done, on the nature of personas and mind states shifting between both the day to day, month to month, year to year, and life time to life time scales.

The things that we align ourselves with in a life time, the things that we are drawn to and as unrealistic as it seems, the point of energy we search to find ourselves created from. When we have found these things, there is an interesting thing that happens. They all become facets of the personality.

According to basic chaos magick there are 8 divisions within the mind. These People within the mind, have all the mannerisms of say subject A, now while A is shifting through the 8 mindsets according to what he is dealing with be it, money, war, sex, friends, ego, death, lies, or the spiritual. He must a certain times give character to the separations of these in his mind. He will mostly ascribe one to his ego, who he is, what he does, and why he does it. Then he will ascribe one for how he deals with his friends, and then how he deals with his lies. HE is still the same, however archtype models cause for a more stable mindset.

I have personally met people whose energys shifted when their minds have reverted into the devils personality. When they have become a werewolf, or a dragon. Or cuthulionic in ways that make the person behave, act, and think differently.

Possession on the other hand, dealing with things that are abraisive energys that conflict with these eight, and try and usurp the bodys control however is not the same as switching between the archtypes in question.

It is possible, and shouldn't be thought of as a form of insanity, but it should be accepted as who he is, for that is his best way of communication of what is going on between him, and how he acts and live is based on these observations.

Would you say then that there is a link between archetypes and totems, do you see them in the same way ?

Also have you noted a link between the above and trauma to the individual ?

I for one know of a person who lets his past live come through into his current life and he has some serious issues. he has quite a few that likes to come out. it happens allt he time when I talking to him or chatting with him online. me I learned from a friend of mine who has had to deal with all his 30 something. In each life we have the power to choose to be in control, Pick one and don't let the rest interfere. it will only cause problems int he long run as everyone has mentioned before. I have two, but I don't let them interfere with my life as it once made my first marriage a bad experience. One is a very provokative and permiscuious individual and likes to flirt alot. yeah put two and two together.

Interesting that you think of these being part of your past life experiences, what makes you believe this is so ?
