Does anyone know of a demon by the name of Agla. My uncle, as I have said in someone elses forum thread, claims to be stalked, if you will, by this Agla. Any information would be greatly appreciated
AGLA is one of the holy names called in clerical magick....do a wiki search on it.
I have never heard of that particular one, so your unlce knows it's name, does that mean he communicates with it? (sorry if this is a dumb question)
AGLA is a notariqon (kabbalistic acronym) for Atah Gibor Le-olam Adonai,"The Lord is mighty forever." .
Seems an odd name for a demon, but have recently learned that demons were first thought of as intermediaries.
Found the above on search, make of it what you will
It is based in the pratice of Black Magic:
Quote from the link provided below for you:
"...in the arcanum of magic it is declared that 'he controls the soul who controls the blood of another.' "

Agares : First Duke of the East, commands 31 legions; appears willingly is all I can see
1. AGLA is used in its short form in a number of magical circle making forumulas. The Golden Dawn used it as the "God Name" of the North quarter in the LBRP, representing Earth, and in the GRP to represent the passive elements of water and Earth. (from about.com)
2. Agla
A word from the Kabala formerly used by rabbis for exorcisms of the evil spirit. It is made up of the initial letters of the Hebrew words, Athah gabor leolam, Adonai, meaning, "Thou art powerful and eternal, Lord." Among superstitious Christians it was also a favorite weapon with which to combat the evil one, as late as the sixteenth century. It is found in many books on magic, notably in the Enchiridion ascribed to Pope Leo III.
According to The Triangular Book of the Count of St Germain God by the name of AGLA was responsible for the preservation of Lot and his family from the fire of Sodom and Gomorrah.

seems to me your demon may not be a demon but that of a devine force. as implied by some of the sites I have been researching. I have known demons to use divine names to mask their true name, for once you know a demons true name they are able to be banished. here is a link to a good banishing ritual:

from what im finding in my research on this AGLA was the real secret name of God, which varied according to your preference. AGLA was one popular version.

I never heard of it either and looked it up and only thing I found was in The Book Of Ceremonial Magic....here's link to it.

This is a very interesting and I'll have to look into it further than what has been posted but I did want to make one comment about demons..... They were once angels.... when God cast the followers of Lucifer to Hell that's when they became demons.... that may be the reason for the name.... or the demon is screwing around with your uncle.....
It may be that this is not the demons real name, as previously stated. Considering your uncle is very much aware of the demon, I am wondering if it is possible that this is not a demon at all. Instead, it might be a stray piece of his psyche, most likely having to do with his acceptance of God as a vengeful yet mericfull God- or something of the like depending on his spiritual views. I am not saying that this is not a real demon- just making an alternate suggestion of its origins.
From "The Complete Book of Devils & Demons" ...
"In the history of magic there are reports that the single word Agla, if said in the right way, prodoced extraordinary results. It is also said that merely by pronouncing seven names correctly (Adonai, Perai, Tetragrammaton, Anexhexeton, Inessensatoal, Pathumaton, and Itemon) King Solomon was able to bring all demons under his personal control. The name Primematum holds power over the whole host of Heaven. The name of God commands the hosts of Hell. You open the Gates of Hell by chanting Zazas, Zazas, Nasantanada, Zazas. Closing them is considerably more difficult."...
so it's more of a power word than an actual demon...hope this helps

If he knows the name of the demon, does that mean he talks to it, or has been spoken to?
Not all demons give the same name to people I have spoken to one that gave me the name, Endunbonet, and gave another person another name just because he gives this name to one person doesn’t mean it’s the demons real name.
this is indeed interesting but as it has been said they do not always give the same name to each person they speak to they will however just rattle off a name or word to throw you off when in conversation with them
