Ok who dose stone magic here on VR or knows any one that dose?
Ok some or alot or not at all it is new to some and old to many I use it to help in nightmares, colds, money and reading in to the past and the future.
I have used stones like Moonstone, Bloodstone, Flourite and many more and have got them from shops, online, and out side and as gifes friend friends and family.
So what kind of stones do you use for your stone magic or readings and where did get them from and what do you think and feel about when you see and feel the stone in your hands!
Hmmm I'm not very clear on stone magic.. I would like to learn more about it though please enlighten me.
Stones are good, but I use their currents as components to strengthen other works instead of having them stand on their own.
oooo please tell me more i'd love to have further insight on the subject! i didnt know there was such a thing! I knew that stones could be for luck and that u could trap a soul but i didnt know u could use it for sickness and money ooo!
there is alot of great sources like the magicians companion, or cunninghams encylopedia of magical stones and metals, as well as the books by Harmony, the Love is in the Earth series. Or any correspondence text, usually has sections on herbs, and stones, metals and assorted chemicals or minerals.
hematite is my favorite stone to work with. I just get this great energy from it.
Yes Crystals are a main part of stone magic. There is this book and very good one I use in my magic and stone magic and readings it is by the author Scott Cunningham the name of it is Crystal, Gem & Metal Magic.
It tells you about the powers of the stones and the energys in them and so on and who the old time mages and witchs used them for spell and so on.
I will have will have more on this as you ask more and add you in put.
I know that stones have a lot of power in them, mainly because of the age of a lot of the stones, and they are a great asset in spell work...
Stones and crystals can be very powerful things, and they can hold alot of energy. I use stones at times, but ive never used crystals. Runes are made primarely of stone, but they can be made of bone, metal, and other things, which can hold energy well. I was always taught that stone (gems) hold the most energy, but im not so sure about that now.
Painting sigils on stones and throwing them at abandoned buildings and such is an awesome, even if slightly useless, activity to partake in.
Otherwise, the biggest thing I use stones for is rune magic. Basically developing or adopting a language of runes, applying it to stones when desired and achieving the desired affects by forms of ritual or gnosis, most effect in rune magick for me is exhibitory gnosis (orgasm, exhaustion, dizziness, pain, freezing, etc).
You could also use stones for divinatory purposes like chalice gazing, rune magick with tossing or other methods, like tarot cards, or to read energies for divinatory purposes or energy work with healing, sigil casting, ritual work, time magick, etc.
It's less about the specific tool and more about how much you put into using that tool in my opinion. If you want to use stones, make them work for you. Develop a system using them that produces results and run with it.
Here is part of an article on amethysts I posted in the Octo Umbra House thread for the Hall of Aeris.
Leonardo da Vinci wrote that the gem dissipates evil thoughts and quickens the intelligence. It is a symbol of spirituality, inner power, and psychic awareness. Its calming qualities relate to the soothing effects it has over those who suffer from addictions. As a stone of great healing and meditative powers, amethyst is a purifier and director of energies of the mind, body, and spirit. It is a stone associated with easing transitions especially related to death. It is said to give protection against seduction, a good thing around a bunch of vampires. ;)
Me to, i have friends that were there nice stones around there neck some times..
I have a friend that practices stone magic. She does not buy them online though, she goes out and finds them. They have more power that way I guess. Im not sure how everything works.
I've heard of it. Haven't really delved into that realm of magick before though. I do find that if I carry certain stones or gems with me they have different effects on me.
in every element there is a possibility of using the energy to help or enhence magick
I believe in it, definitely, but I've never really experimented with it. I've heard that amethyst is used for protection, that's the extent of what I know.
I occasionally use a bit of haematite to ease my RSI, but other than that, i'm not a major stone or crystal worker.
Aha!
Researched it a little bit.
Crystals can be used for protection against psychic vampire attacks and amethyst can be used as protection in general.
I have actually just started studing Stone Magick. I have used it befor in the past with inset stones on blades and jewelry I have made. But I am looking forward to studing it more indepth.
I'm quite familiar with stone magic, since I'm heavily Earth-oriented in my practise.
i used rose quartze when i did love spells for friends, crystals for healing, a hag stone for female power, jade for sexuality
I already made a post on the crystal healing thread.
The Scott Cunningham book ~ Crystal, Gem & Metal Magic is a bod place to start some basic learning for other stone and crystal magic work.
I have a nice piece of Black Tourmaline wand that has proven to be very effective in magic work. I do not use it for healing.. another for that purpose.
~ Wolf
i used to "dabble" in it, I never really had the training in it like I have with the others. It is one of the most stable and powerful magicks that the world knows....
I never knew anything about it. I had never heard of it until this thread. So I find this thread very enlightening. Maybe I'll look into more.
to truly do stone magic, you must have a spiritual link with the stone. simply buying a stone from a shop means nothing. you will benefit far more from simple stones that you have found yourself. one of the most powerful stones you can hold is a stone which has naturally formed a hole. take a slow walk along a beach, or by the side of a river or stream, and look for such stones. think stone, contemplate the meaning of stone, and embrace stone in your heart. as you do this, some stones will seem to call out to you, to catch your eye.
pick up a stone that looks and feels good to you, and paint a glyph on it that is meaningful to you, and keep this stone by your bed. think of what a stone is.
