Hi, Everyone:

I've been interested in astral projection for a few years now, but have never seriously attempted it. I was hoping that those who do astral travel on a regular basis could share a story or two about their experiences. Is it true that astral traveling allows you to visit whichever locations you wish? Have you been able to heal yourself or others while on the astral plane in any way (As I have heard that is possible)? Has astral traveling given you a new outlook on life, the afterlife, or anything else relevant? These are some of the things I am wondering about. Thanks, everybody.

I too am interested in Astral Projection/Travel. I have done it twice, once on purpose and once on accident. The incident that was on purpose, all I did was visit my spirit guides for advice. The time that was on accident was...well, an accident. I was at a friend's with three of my friends. We were sitting in her living room watching tv. I started feeling...odd. The next thing I new, I was laying on the floor with three faces looking at me. Apparently they had actually seen me slump over and a sort of shadowy version of myself started floating up out of my body. They cast a very fast circle and acting as an anchor for me until I regained conciousness. I don't remember much about the experience...but it was kind of scary. Since then I havn't been able to achieve astral projection on purpose again. I think it's cause I'm scared of what will happen...

I've read that when you dream you are falling, and then suddenly wake up, that is returning from astral projection. I have had many of those dreams, unfortunatly I never remember what happened before the falling sensation. I believe many people astral project and don't even realize it.

I have a tendency to Astrally Project in my dreams, unconsciously...I've been told I've visited some people in their sleep when I've shared the exact same dream from my perspective.
I've tried to astral project consciously but haven't had too much luck.

Any astral projection i've done, I've also done unconsciously. I do think that jolting in your sleep is to do with AP, and certainly sharing dreams could be something to do with it too

I've unintentionally astral projected before, but whenever I try to on purpose I never seem to be able to do it. As far as I know, though, you can travel to any location you wish. And I'm not sure about the healing part....I would think it possible in one way or another.

I have been performing astral projection for many years now.

I first discovered it by accident during my sleep (this is sometimes known as lucid dreaming).

I did some research into astral projection for a long time before actually attempting it properly.

I have now been a practiser of astral projection for almost 15 years.

To answer some of the questions.

Yes it is possible to heal others using astral projection (some call this astral magick). In fact it is possible to cast all kinds of spells in the astral plane.

The astral plane is extremely vast and is comprised of a myriad of realms.

Some realms are rather dangerous, so it would be beneficial to anyone who decides to attempt astral projection to cast a protection spell first.

I hope this small amount of information helps, and should anyone wish to know more, please do contact me.

Mener

I have astral travelled twice only.. that I recall.. first was 'accidentally', as I was learning "stuff". The second time I toured round my hometown and ended up basing a short-story on the experience.

I have also unintentionally traveled in that manner. As a matter of fact, I did so last weekend. Every time I have done it, I was "letting myself go", clearing my mind. I stumbled upon a very nice woman who was doing the same. I made the comment "Wow, I'm really here". She smiled and said, "yes this was the only way I could visit my husband while he was in prison. Isn't it wonderful?".

I used to mess around with it when I was younger, the sleep over kind of thing. I have been successful, and really lucky also, for it is very dangerous if you don't have someone there to "guide" you,so to speak. I would educate myself by reading up on it and asking a lot of questions. This is a great topic for discussion. Thanks for asking!

Astral travel may be confused with the natural dream state, as at times you will feel as though you are truly there.

The main differance between the astral and the dream states is the fact that once you are in the astral, you will be there, you will feel the air as if you were awake, fully aware of your surroundings, not like that of dreaming where you have minor control over said dreams.

My advise to all would be to wear a gold ring on your left ring/middle/or index fingers. This gold ring acts as a conduit for the other side. It has been known to control certain aspects of the ethereal.

Thanks for everyone's responses, they've been very helpful and informative!

As for the question regarding good books on astral projection, I've gone more with CDs to listen to while attempting to project, and the ones by Jason Newcomb seem to be very helpful. They deal with not only projection itself, but chakra opening as well.

Edgar Cayce, and The Association for Research and Enlightenment has a lot to say in this regards. There is a storehouse of info to be had from there, as well as books such as "There Is A River", and many of the other Cayce books.

I have done this a few times, sometimes while sleeping, other times while meditating deeply late at night, when there are less distractions, and most of the minds around me are fast asleep.

Astral traveling is something that a lot of people do and don't even realize they do it. Falling dreams are said to be astral traveling when you are falling you are just going back down to your body.
