I guess its My Turn. LOL
Greetings My name is Tommy Dillen AKA SilverDragon.
My Lovely Woman is The perky One above me. Crystaljoynn ;)
I live in Orlando, Florida at least half of the year. The other half I play in Columbus, Ohio.
I travel around the USA driving a truck & moving people for work half the year. The other half I am self-employed.
I prefer to sit on the Beach & Drink
(Coronas, Pina Coladas w/ 151 shots, Margaritas, Crown & Cokes). You get the Picture. Bar record one night 58 shots & then they cut me off. LOL I was still sober. LOL
I like to spin Music, Do anything outdoors, Go anywhere cool. I love going to all the amusement Parks in Florida (Universal studios & Islands Of Adventure, Bush Gardens, Sea World, All their bars & nightClubs, Etc.)
I have been in all 48 main states & 4 other countries. I get along with 99% of everyone I meet everywhere. I was a Security Manager(Bouncer) at the Hottest Club in Downtown Orlando for 3 Years, I have done private Security work for numerous bands & kicked a couple Bands *$%#$! I used to compete around Florida in Martial Arts Tournaments & Fights. I like Surfing & Racing & Animals & a Certain Blond.
Anything else just see my Profile. Peace
Me next!
Name: Skully until I meet ya :P.
I live in Downtown Denver, and walk to all my favorite hotspots, then stumble home.
I love a good rum, some vodka drinks, and long island iced teas if I have the self-control to ONLY have 2 and nothing else for a while.
The cruise is a present to myself for keeping it together after a divorce. Plus, VNV Nation is one of my faves. They're great people.
Several of my friends are also going, and its a great opportunity to meet new people of like mind from all over.
Like Silver I did a lot of security work when I was younger, also due to martial training. Now I work as a computer tech for a telecom company.
And clearly, due to previous board discussions, I love coffee.
OK, I'm Game.
My name is Keith. My lovely wife is also on VR as DarkAngelGina.
I am Process Engineering Manager for a flexible packaging manufacturer. We make the material for bag that 85% of the world's coffee is packaged in. We also sell and service the machines that package the coffee that are manufactured by our parent company in Italy. Hence I have extensive knowledge of and a love for coffee.
Gina and I live around 15 miles north of Philadelphia, PA. We have 3 kids, two off at college and one in 6th grade.
We have cruised before and love it. I originnally came on VR by following a link from the Gothic Cruise web site.
My drinks of preferance: Hoppy beer, Tannic red wine, martinis, gin & tonic and manhattans.
ooh!
Now we have lots to talk about. coffee and martinis rule.
Ok I'll drop some details.
Name: Tim, TeeBee, B
Where do I live?
About an hour west of Toronto
Where have I been?
Ontario Canada, Down the I75 Corrodor in the US, Pittburgh (I hitch hiked there for a set of head phone onces Don't ask), NJ on Business, Germany twice very beautiful country but get lonely because very few people speak english. Oh well.
What do I drink?
I love Rye alot ALOT. I once drank $110 in one sitting at a bar once and was barely buzzed it was getting so I went back to my hotel. Its damn well near impossible rye in Germany I took a bottle with me last time I went. Its even hard to find in the US sometimes.
Why am I going?
My Fiancee and I have been together for 7 years and have never taken a vacation together. We love VNV nation and I have like so many weeks of banked holidays that I have no idea what to do with.
What do I do?
I work for an international medical imaging vendor. What the heck does that mean? Take your digital camera and a Xray machine squish them together and that sort of what I do. More than that my company makes the storage archive to stores millions upon millions of Xrays ultra sounds, MRI's etc. We're in 80% of hospitals worldwide. Especially in flordia nearly every hospital uses our equipment.
Again What do I do? OK I build virtual infrastructure and all sort of other virtual work. I come up with Ideas and implement them. I'm infinitly high tech the only person that I have ever found that is my technological equal is my older brother who also works with me. We are pretty much twins born 7 years apart we know how each other thinks and people said if were a screen blocking us and we spoke from behind it no one could tell us apart. My Fiancee said she has no idea what we discuss when we talk its way beyond her.
What do I do when I'm not working?
I work alot ALOT. When I'm not working I like to do geeky things. I write DVD Player Firmware or Reprogram things that were never mean to be programmed. I buy stuff not based on the specs but the "hackability" doubt thats a word but neither is bling bling but its now in the dictionary. I once reprogrammed my Fridge to have a Webpage so I could log in remotely to see what was inside it remotely when my Fiancee moved in she said there was no more reprogramming the fridge. Then 3 years later LG came out with an internet fridge. Then I knew I missed my million dollar idea. (sigh)
I don't have a pocket protector nor do I have glasses with tape I'm like a closet geek but you get me with other geeks its on!
What have I done in past lives?
I've done tech support for many huge computer companies one of them rhymes with "Frig You" (really it does and you totally know it) about the only one I didn't work for rhymed with "Hell"
I've DJ'd a few times
I've built a car by hand well its 90% done should be totally done before the cruise.
I love wreching on cars most like imports, Mitsubishi, VW, Hyundai. Domestic cars frustrate me. Honda kids frustrate me.
Thats way more than I wanted to say but whatever.
Thanks for the EDIT Allgenre...lol....
Can't leave out that!...Silly girl!
*I owe ya one*....*snickers*.....
Yup I've restored a 1991 Mitsubishi Cyborg plled out the 1.5L replaced it with a 2.4L DOHC with 10.5:1 compression Cams all the bells and whistles Nothing like 220 ft/lbs in at 2200 lbs car. Nothing factory original on the car.
yay! we complete the circle of geek then. I know nothing about code or vehicles.
Well I am pretty kookie...lol Freak is a better term..lol
I live in the Tampa metro Area with my Boyfriend. As I am sure many of you know by now is AlchemistDammed.
He's a RUM man, I am a votka girl..lol
We both enjoy many types of music but tend listen to Goth, Industrial and rock the most.
We are both computer geeks like the rest of you .
I have found my true soul mate in life. She is a 1995 Toyota Supra, you would have to kill me to get her away from me. No joke....lol
ok guys...
I am Dez, one of the Wyoming gals....i work at a store that sounds like "not hotpic" and i HATE its style right now...
i am going on this cruise with my friends and my hubby..it will be our 7yr anniversary on Oct 7th and we never had a honeymoon...so mushy huh!
i love the gin and tonics, and fruity citrus drinks....and the guiness
i am a total honda lover.......sorry
and i am way excited to meet you all, and hang out on a ship for a week eating lobsters and whatever else we find ourselves doing....
oh and i have not traveled for 13 years...
Ok... I'll go next...
~*My name is Christina..... aka *dEvil Doll*
..... *Amorous Darkness*
~*I live in NJ, just bought a house that we've been fixing for 5+ months and not even close to being done!
~*I'm going on the cruise with my fiancee (Jay), we're going to celebrate our 9 yr. anniversary (Oct. 3rd) and my B-Day (Oct. 15th).
~*I been working (6+ yrs) as the Head of the Photo Lab in a store that I'm sure you ALL (in the U.S.) have been in... Walgreens... they're seriously taking over the country... it's scary!!!
~*I do photography in my spare time...
~*I actually don't drink that much now, but that might change during the cruise! I like mostly mixed drinks.
~*I can't say the same for Jay though... he's definatly a drinkin' man, he drinks everything!!! :o)
~*I'm so excited about going, I just can't wait!!!
Hi!!! I'm Lauren.
I live in Wyoming. yay for isolation!
I work...all the time. I'm an assistant manager at hot topic. (formerly known as the coolest store in the mall until we started carrying stuff you'd see in pac sun...it's getting better though, really) And I also bartend 2-3 nights a week at a biker bar. (mmm, the lovely sound of harley's, and the smell of oil and leather in the summer is intoxicating) (oh and I LOVE that the bikers LOVE my cyber hair falls and industrial look...they call me "back in black" and recently "dark angel"......mostly, it makes me giggle)
I drink....washington apples, any good wheat beer (sunshine wheat is my favorite), ruby red or pear absolut with soda.
I've never been on a cruise before and this is a present to myself because i work to damn much. (my friends have to schedule appointments just to see me....i only wish i was kidding) Also it will be the first vacation my boyfriend and I will be taking together. As well as 4 more of my friends!
When I'm not working (haha) I like to watch anime, read manga, and play video games (RPG's are my favorite!!).
Music is everything to me....one of the reasons i love both of my jobs. I get to listen to awesome music all day long!
Well, I guess that's about it. I can't wait to meet everyone in October. It's going to be entirely too much fun!
Murlfe.
Uh, I guess that's a good place to start. I use lots of strange, nonsense words. You'll get used to it. I also type way too damned fast for my own good, and often miss letters. But I'm a total Grammer Nazi. /Grrrrr.
Inky was a name bestowed upon me by a "Dwarf Naming" ceremony. You know: Sneezy, Twitchy, Doepy, Spikey, Inky, etc. I have a metric ass load of tattoos. And my artist lives in Orlando. Guess what I'm doing as soon as we disembark???
I'm currently waiting tables and bartending. I have a degree in Entomology, but it has never done me a bit of good career wise. I looooooove spiders. And cats.
I'm a gamer geek. (Warcrack anyone???) I'm also a total car buff. And a fire dancer. And a sound tech.
I read more than anyone should. I devour books. Egyptian history, arachnology, psychology, philosophy, BDSM, forensics and anatomy, fantasy, sci-fi, comic books, etc. In oher words, if you want to find me on board, look under an umbrella on a lawn chair stuck in a book.
Believe it or not, I'm rather quiet and shy and reserved.
Uh...yeah...stuff...
Getting to know you... Yeah, stop that! No bursting into rediculous song number...
Yeah! I'm another Wyoming girl. I'm going on the cruise with my husband and four of my very best friends. My husband and I are going because we're still waiting on a honeymoon, two years later!!! And it has been so long since I've had a good trip, like 10 + years and never over any boarders or any amount of sea!
I love reading, gaming, renovating furniture, crafting, sewing, painting and writting. I love so many types of music that there isn't space enough on this thing to list them all. I'm incredibly easy to get along with and get very touchy with my friends if they stand too close to me... What can I say, I have hot friends!
But I'm literally putting myself into a deep black hole of debit to go on this trip and I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to see you all at the pre cruise!!!
My turn now I guess (delayed due to forgetting my username)
I'm actually 1 half of 2, you see my Fiance and I are going on this cruise for our honeymoon. Our first date involved driving 7 hours to miss 3/4 of a VNV show, so it only seems fitting.
So...that being said, we're both from the Toronto, Canada suburbs.
What do I do...
I'm proud to say I am a corporate goth. I work in the Internet Security field in marketing, so I am also then a techy/geeky goth I guess. Works out well though, cuz I am going to marry the same.
Drink:
Tequila and Vodka.
Hobbies:
I used to travel until i realized i had to actually do something productive with my salary. *sigh*. But I have travelled extensively through Europe -England, France, Norway, Denmark, Holland, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy, Czech, also have been to Egypt, and all over the US. And no...i never worked as a flight attendant. But I am not normally the best warm-climate person, so I will probably live in the pool for most of the on-board time. I am also into photography.
Kookiness facts.
hmmm, i used to work for a leather retailer so i have more leather clothing than any normal person should have.
Languages:
English, French and enough German to know how silly Rammstein songs are.
As for my other half, ah, he'll probably be parked 24/7 in front of the sushi bar. good thing its 24/7!!
How could I forget my favorite alcohol??!?!
GOOD beer. (None of that American piss water.) Good Vodka, Jameson Whiskey, Irish Car Bombs, Sake, Red Wine, Baronjager, Kamikazes, Chartreus, Excellent Rum...I'm gonna stop there, before I sound like a drunk.
Yikes Irish Car bombs we got into those a few weeks back. I'll stick to my rye....
Whiner :P.
I'll have to try the Rye. My pal in Toronto always tried to get me to try it, but its difficult to find here unless you go to the uber-booze stores.
I will drink (slug) the car bombs with you inky.....i also enjoy them!!
Alright, Alright, So How do I smuggle a beer truck on board?...lol....Sugestions???....lol..
Argonaut is like 3 blocks from me. I'm an idiot.
For those of you NOT in Denver, its a pretty big store. It's location is premo since it sits near 3 major concert venues on a main street. They aren't the biggest, but they are very well stocked.
Anthony here. Tampa's my town. Smoking cigars while having some sweet drinks is good.
Server: "How would you like that cooked sir?"
Anthony: "If they have to cook it, please ask them to brown it real quick on each side. The bloodier the better."
YAY for fellow car bombers!!!
Wait, that sounded funny.
First and foremost, Greetings to all. I am new to VR, and its very sad... the site tells me I have no friends.... hmmm...and that Im a Whelp. Will have to change that. hehe.
Name : Heather

Look forward to meeting all of you.... this is my first Gothic Cruise.... any pointers would be helpful. Thanks.
Hey, Goth nurse, fret not, there are a lot of first timers, myself included but I'd say we're all in good hands. I feel better knowing there'll be a nurse on hand, you'll probably be busy on your off time dealing with alcohol poisoning. Wait a sec... Do I know you?
Nope, by bad, sorry, different nurse that's going to be joining us from Texas, bit of a difference. But looking forward to meeting you nonetheless.
Great RagDoll. I have dealt with lots of drunks in and out of the hospital.... I also own a bar. (Job security hehe) But this time I plan to be one of the ones hitting the bottle. Did I see something about open bar??? ;)
Since one guy had a cool format and I need to go soon, I'm going to use that as a template. Hope you don't mind.
Name: Robert
Where do I live?
Orange County, CA
Where have I been?
Not many places. Oregon. Been in Cali my whole life. I've driven to Chula Vista (5 miles from Mexico) like 100 times, but never actually WENT to Mexico.
What do I drink?
This is a fun one!
I like Jack & Coke, JeagerBombs!!!!
Guinness, Classic Martini's with GG,
I read someone mention American Piss-water... Ever heard of Old Rasputin? That stuff is like Guinnessx5... hahaha. It's awesome! Made in Oregon.
Ohh.. and Young's Double Chocolate Stout!!!
Why am I going?
I don't perfectly fit-in with the "goth" scene, but there are MANY ways in which I do. First is the music... I LOVE anything dark, gothic, industrial, noise, ambient, etc. Second is my extremely dark sense of humor, sarcasm, etc. I'm just drawn to it! I'm a total night person. etc, etc.
To be honest, I'm going for the experience. I want to say, "I went on a goth cruise..." and laugh at all my friend's disbelief!!! I want to actually meet people who are into the same music as I am (none of my friends know 98+% of the bands I like). Since I'm going alone, meeting people will be really cool.
What do I do?
I'm a network engineer. I'm a "computer guy". I fix/install/configure/troubleshoot/rebuild anything pc or network related. Geeky, I know. It pays the bills though. I've been into computers since age 9. I'm not a total nerd though, just half... :)
Again What do I do?
I think I said it plainly enough. No smoke & mirrors.
What do I do when I'm not working?
I'm a pretty quiet guy when alone. Movies / music / games / internet / etc. Pretty basic stuff. I like learning new things / off facts. When I'm with friends and I'm comfortable... yea, I've been known to get a little crazy... hahaha. I love to laugh and joke around.
>>>I don't have a pocket protector nor do I have glasses with tape I'm like a closet geek but you get me with other geeks its on!
I reprogrammed my NES zapper to be a machine gun!!! hahah. Rigged the wires to the Advantage controller with turbo... when you'd press "A" on the controller, the gun would turbo fire! :)
I also like to mod stuff.
Weird fact:
When I'm driving or walking down the street at night and the street-light suddenly turns off just as I approach it... there's always that little part of me that smiles inside and "KNOWS" that I'M the reason why it turned off!!!
Anyone else ever think that?
Hi my name is Jennifer McKee aka azzlynn
I currently live in the sticks of Colorado those of you from Denver will know Silverthorne. I live up in the mountains with the ski bunnies and tree huggers. I have to escape to Denver once a month just to see my fellow goths.
I have been married to my wonderful but slightly antisocial husband Brent for nine years and he has agreed to take me on this cruise (under penalty of death) :)
I am an RN and my specialty is neuro-trauma. So if any of you get drunk and hit you head, I'm the girl to call!!!
My favorite colors: black and white
My favorite bands: Too many to name but of course VNV Nation as well Wumpscut, wolfsheim, KMFDM, Icon of coil, and Clan of Xymox.
Aha! My Mom lives within an hour of Silverthorne.
Not being made of money, or work for a company who loves me well enough to pass around free stuff, I live in CO but never get to ski.
skully
I have been skiing exactly twice this season and I live up here. I would much rather spend my weekends in Denver at the Church. Do you hang out there at all?
Speaking of being a klutz....I recently broke my arm and wrist. Heheheehehe.
hey.. anyone interested in going on a ski weekend this season or next?
I could put something together for colorado at a ski resort... etc.
Z,
I'd consider doing next. Not really a big fan of skiing, but if it comes here how could I say no?
Used to live in CO....It would be really neat to go back and go to Breakinridge or Aspen....Or where ever....Those are the only ones I have been too....
I'm in!!
Ive never ski'd in my life. Im homegrown florida. I did go 400 feet down the side of Mt Rainer on a huge inner tube..
that was fun.. till I hit a tree.
I thought maybe a resort that offered skiing, snowboarding, and the like?
I'd go on a skiing trip. Although I have never skied in my life, but I am sure there would be something fun to do there.
if you wanted an awesome skiing area, with the best powder ever...look into Grand Targhee...it was mind blowing, and I would go back anytime...
Z,
My husband is the head chef at Beaver Run Resort in Breakenridge Co. Let me know if are planning a ski trip and he could get us some deals on rooms and banquet halls.
Brek is my FAVORITE place. I lived in Colorado on-and-off for six years, and never went skiing or boarding or anything. I jst like Brek as a town. It's wonderful! I'd go back to CO just to chill in Brek for a weekend.
well you can hang out by the fire and drink hot totties, you can go hot tubbing or my personal favorite thing to do you can scare the tourists :)
Well, you can smack people with black dyed snowballs....
drink hot toddy's.. with extra toddy..then go smack people with snowballs again...
go walk around at night seeking the abominable snowman...
beam people from the lifts with more snowballs.
sit in huge hot tub laughing at the people you beamed with snowballs earlier that day as they walk by grumbling..
invite innocent children to listen to ghost stores by the fireplace as only a goth can spin em...
I can think of more.. hehehe..
(you realize im kidding.. right?)
I hope you are not kidding about the hot toddies...scaring the torists sounds like fun too.
Get a fabulous massage, drink, eat wonderful food, drink, go shopping for random crap you don't really need, drink, sit in a 104 degree hot tub while snow is falling, drink, laugh at the people that bruised themselves up falling...err...skiing earlier in the day, drink, Enjoy the sights of the city, drink, get some wikid pictures, drink......I know I'm forgetting something.....oh yeah, DRINK!!!
Excellent good to hear that there is something to do that doesn't involve flinging myself at high speeds down mountains.
Being a Whelp and having no friends on here s well and a first time Goth cruiser, I can relate to our Nurse.
* hears the banjos starting up."
Living in Tn...you can imagine how often I get to be around fellow enthusiasts. I am looking forward to this trip and making new friends.
Just wondering if all that searching for creatures after dark and scaring little kids is limited to the Ski trip . I was so looking forward to some of that on the cruise. * pouts*
welcome RavynNoir34 my dad lives in Old hickory TN and really does play the banjo :)
I live in the mountains of Colorado and I am looking forward to seeing fellow goths for a whole week too!!!
Thanks Azzlynn. Don;t suppose your dad will be coming and playing some of that footstomping banjo music. Will make me feel as if I am home. * grins*
HA! "The Deliverance" Cruise.
I can hear the dueling banjos now!
Hey.. no scaring the "non"normals on the ship.
No I think we will let VNV Nation do all the playing. :) We are already going to freakout the norms. Imagine goths with banjos(scary).
Ah Z...what if i just glare at them. does that count??
::looks in the rules::
No: Glaring, Twitching, Smacking, Kicking, Biting, Pushing, Shouldering, Shoving, Sticking out of the tongue, making of faces, pinching, thwapping, tapping, fondling, molesting, hitting, punching, cackling, tenderizing, braising, boiling, roasting, etc.
An no. you may not tie up the "non"normals up by their toes and stick straws in them.
how many non-gothling people will be there approx.?...or better yet how many gothlings do we get to meet? :)
Hey Z
how about if a non goth walks in and we stop what we're doing and stare and smile at them like they are a big bowl of cream and we are hungry cats. I find this method every effective.
Well the ship holds 2,974 passengers. I don't know how many of "us" there will be, but I'm thinking there will be at least a couple thousand of "them", not to mention the 1,150 crew.
* goes to pout with Kitty and Azzlynn* Darn you take all the fun out of it. Though is licking them on the cheek considered molesting?
Were not at 500 people yet.
There are alot of people just now finding out about the cruise.
But the advance reservations for the 2008 cruise.. are already coming.. and I havent released the information yet!
Ravyn - I'm in Memphis, so you're not the only one. ^-^
no. i am putting together a 2008 5 night gothic cruise with about 4 or 5 bands, since club med got all discrimatory towards gothics.
* hops on Inky* YEAH I am not alone....* wonders if that was a bit forward. Smiles and acts all innocent *
Ok here we go:
I live in NJ and work of most of my days away but I love it because it's what I want to do.
Ive traveled to many cities across the US (mostly due to work) and this will be my first trip out of the states. Hell yeah I'm looking forward to zip lining across the freakin' jungle. If you hear a really loud but bad Tarzan scream followed by a large crash that would definitely be me!!! And, I will have a hell of a lot of fun doing it too!
I love music, movies and art of all kinds and most genres. Throw up on the country stuff though! Big favs are KMFDM, FLA, NIGHTWISH AND VNV.
Going on the cruise with my closest friend and my sister. We will be conquering the Mayan civilization once we get off that boat! Wait..is there anything left to conquer??? Oh, well as long as I can bring one of their temples back with me...
Yeah, kind of lost what else I should say... but all I got to say is HELL YEAH i'm excited about this thing!!!!! WOOHOO!
ooo... someone else from NJ......finally.... welcome!!! :o)
Hello all! A bit late in chiming in and saying howdy to all attending. I'm very much looking forward to the cruise, though I'm hoping it's not the Deliverance version... I've heard sea-air isn't good for banjos.
I'll be flying in from Chicago for our excursion. I love the Windy City, but need to get away from time to time.
My parents were concerned about me from a very young age. I was always either at the top of the tallest tree in the forest during a windstorm, or launching myself from the roof in an attempt to fly like Batman. Growing up in the dense woods of the Northwest, I spent a great deal of time Sasquatch searching. Never bumped into one, but I'm still a believer.
I am very, very excited to tube through the caves and then zip line through the jungle on our trip! I'm also a complete preparedness nerd, and I purchased a couple Pelican cases for carrying ID and such... can't wait to use them.
It's great to meet you folks. Looking forward to meeting you in person in a couple months!
welcome cryptkicker!!
I am into rock climbing and repelling so I will be doing the zipline and tubing too. I promise not to cut your line if you promise not to cut mine too!!:)
Hmmm... okay. Deal! No line snipping. At least not till we're over water.
K, So newbie here. Just joined today, and also just made my res for the cruise today too
the name is Mary, I will probably be one of the youngest on the ship * I'm only 19 :(*
but hey, I'm still a little party girl. clubbing is my thing, shaking my butt.. welll, my favorite past time.
this is my first cruise like many of the others, although i have been on boats before. mainly just yachts so nothing big like this. But I do know that so far I have not suffered sea sickness. yay for that!
VNV Nation is one of my favorite bands, I've seen them like 4 times, so, this is going to be fun for me..
umm.. what else should i mention?
I'm not really "goth" My mommy says I'm too colorful :D *squeaks*
I'm big into the hairfalls, and dread trend going on now. I will be sporting one or the other.
hmm..
k, thats about it.
oh oh oh! and I hail from NY, so well, yea. It's cold up here. but considering I was raised in florida.. hours from where we will leave from.. I'm use to the heat and stuff. sooo
oh! and unlike most of you guys out there, I don't burn, so MWUHAHA! no sunblock needed for me. I just tan, and I like tanning. I look funny pale.
Hi all! Mama C from NYC here. I just booked the cruise and signed up on here to learn more about what to expect. I'm VERY excited! My b/f and I have never been on a cruise or even a real vacation together before. Plus we do not have to wait very long to see VNV live again!!!
This is going to be the best vacation ever on the coolest cruise ever invited.
Kudos to Zaida!
-is sooooo going-
VNV Nation! WOOT! =D

Then sewing in high school -> Costuming in college -> Design school -> fashion teacher.
So, currently, Instructor at a local private College teaching in the Fashion Design Dept. I also run my own Women's clothing manufacturing business on the side.
My specialties: Holes, corsets, slinky silk gowns, silk painting, and silly details.
Favorite thing to do as a teacher: Correcting patterns and samples with lots of red ink.
My students hated that, so I switched to pink.
My next career probably has something to do with 60cm BJD's, or making 1/3 scale furniture.
What do I do on my free time?
Hang out at school and tutor = Nerd
Balancing armholes to sleeve caps = Nerd
Fabric shopping. Drinking lots of coffee. Making tiny patterns.
Super excited!
Is it October yet?
Name: Noel
Attending with my Roommate, Holly...watch out it's going to be "Goth girls gone wild!"
Location: Seattle, WA
Colors: Black, Silver, Pink
Music: Wow, WAY too many to list. VNV, Apop, Combichrist, Grendel, Feindflug, Glis, Skinny Puppy, IamX...just to name a few. I like anything that will get me up on the dancefloor. I am a big fan of synthpop, powernoise, EBM, and industrial.
Why go?
I tend to go to Europe every year for music festivals, but this year I skipped the usual pilgrimage to WGT because the band list wasn't that great. This will be my first cruise. I have always wanted to go on one, and this seemed like the perfect chance. AND it's geared towards what I like to do...which is going to shows and dancing and drinking.
What do I drink?
Jameson with a Guiness back (yeah, I don't mess around), Corona with lime on hot days, Patron shots, Malibu and pineapple, peach vodka screwdrivers, and absynth.
What do I do?
I work for a company that makes software for libraries. I also work in my roommates goth/industrial music store called Musicwerks.
What do I do on my free time?
Play lots of video games. Don't be surprised if you see me by the pool with my pink DS. I also watch lots of movies, go see as many concerts as I can. I also do some modeling for fun, and I play keyboards for a band called Glis. I also LOVE to travel.
I don't have to much to say-but my roommate & I are pretty similar in tastes & hobbies-this will make for an interesting cruise for us!!!
Drinks: not a fan of beer but Vodka is yummy!! I am a picky drinker & usually stick to my favorites-screwdrivers & fuzzy navels but will do shots of irish whiskey.
Music: My taste in music is very wide-I don't have 1 style in particular.
Well-I'm excited to go on a cruise-this seems like the perfect way to do it!!!
Hi!
I'm so excited about going on this cruise and meeting all of you! October can't come soon enough.

I'm down for the Tequila tasting too!! Just make sure I don't dance on the bar or in a cage or on the stage. I have a bad habit of doing that after a few shots!!
Time for me to pipe up, I guess.
My name is Dean, and i'm your basic newb. I've been on VR for about...12 minuets.
I'm hoping to make new friends and just in general party on the upcomming cruise. I'm currently putting out a CD of my own music on iTunes and a few other MP3 stores. It'll go live everywhere by August. *fingers crossed*

Wow! I didn't know you and Christian are going on the cruise! WOOT!!! Maybe we can convince the dj's to play some stompy music. It'll be good to catch up with you guys. It's been forever since I have seen you!
Hey kids, thought it was about time I introduced myself. I'll be going on this year's cruise with the lovely Annisse (see above) It's my first time on a cruise of any sort. Definitely looking forward to lots of drinking, gambling, and (time permitting) snorkeling.
I work as a photographer at various clubs and events in Hollywood, most prominently at Perversion. I've been doing it for about 6 years now.
My camera and I will be on the lookout for any "goth girls gone wild" so you have been warned!

anyone going to the vnv concert tonight at the glass house?
I am Spike. I am looking forward to seeing what other communities are like.
Hey, all. I thought I’d already introduced myself, but it doesn’t look like I have!
So, hellooooo! I’m Kerry. My hubby (Brent) and I will be coming from Seattle. This is technically going to be our honeymoon, although we were married in January, and we had a mini-moon back then. It may be of interest to someone that “Beloved” was our wedding song! Or you can collectively groan… I know…
We are going because we need a vacation! And because we love VNV and the pyramids in Mexico. Not sure how much of either we’ll see, but looking forward to meet all of you! This will be our first cruise, although we travel together a lot. Just recently got back from Colorado, which happens to be where I grew up! (Seems appropriate to say hi to azzlynn here! Looks like we have a few things in common! *giggle* )
See ya soon!
hi junipergirl
looking forward to meeting you and your husband Brent :) I guess we will have to give our men numbers instead of names:)
@ industrialgirl -
I'll be right there with you on the dance floor when the stompy music comes on!!!
@ShutterBun....
do you have a girlfriend? I'm definately down for some goth girls gone wild action! ANYONE ELSE IN!??!??!?!?!
Please remember that Carnival views this forum from time to time.
As "girls gone wild" of any type was mentioned, I need to remind everyone that Carnival does have rules onboard thier ships regarding girls gone wild type of behavior.
Please remember that you are on a public cruise ship. Now, what you do in your cabins behind closed doors is your deal, but all public behavior must be kept PG.
Entire groups have in the past been banned from Carnival because of bad behavior from some of their guests in public areas of the ship.. and this is also the reason cruise lines now have a strict age policy. (Anyone under 21 must have someone over 25 in their cabin).
awww...but I wanna...
I'm sure we'll be fine. I want to be able to go again without apologizing to cruise lines and foreign dignitaries.
Great, now I have to behave and watch what I say on the forum. That's no fun...
War is Peace. Hate is Love.
Big Brother is wathcing you.
No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!
Hello all! My name is Johanna. I am travelling with my husband, Mark. This is our honeymoon!! We got married after 14 years together.
We live in Phoenix, AZ. We are both involved in theatre and the local music scene.
This is our first real vacation together in 14 years! Did I mention it's our honeymoon?
You can find me on MySpace as well www.myspace.com/sandinista1369
@ Diva1369
I grew up in PHX. Used to go to the Nile, Atomic Cafe, and the Fineline.
@ Annisse
I think I mentioned GGGW in my intro on here...lol.
@ Z...PG rated...what exactly does that mean? I know they USE to have a topless sunbathing section on the ship that is now gone...but what about g-string bikini's or see through shirts with pasties or nee-ple tape. (not that I am planning on any of this...but just in case!) I was thinking of bringing some latex garments with me for the club nights...and hotpants for dancing in. Is that all ok?
As for me, this was originally booked as the 10th anniv. for me and the ex wife.
We split up. Doesn't mean I'm not going!
Living well is the best revenge.
CArnival is not too nasty about dress code.. Ya can't run around naked but g-strings and such I don't they will freak out. We had a Toga party years ago and they were more pissed we used the sheets than that we went commando underneath... Worst they do is tell ya to cover up I guess...
I'm planning on breaking out my skull dental floss bikni myself @ the moonlight swim party.... is that still going on, I hope ;)
I'd just like to go on record to point out that g-strings and topless sunbathing are both approved within my cabin. Not sure about the rest of the boat, though!
Carnival has outright banned Toga parties on their ships effective last year.
G Strings are not allowed. The most you can get away with on the ship is a brazilian cut.
See through shirts are okay.. as long as there is something underneath.
Carnival started cracking down on the dress codes last year due to a swingers group that was onboard one of their ships (Not my group!). Quite a few of this groups people were being "XRated" around minors and in the pool during the day. So they pretty much ruined alot of things for everyone. At that point, they banned Gstrings, Thongs, Toga Parties.. and Costume Parties/Masquerade Balls.
Note: I got corporate approval for my ball as I have an excellent history and a ton of references from other lines on MY clients behaviors.
This is why I say.. keep it PG. Everytime I run a gothic cruise.. The cruise lines do look at my clients behavior record on previous cruises as a whole.
PG means no public nudity.. keep the swearing to a minimum in public areas. You know.. the common sense stuff.
@Allegre….Thank you for clarifying. Do people really not know what "Rated PG" is anymore?
I signed up for this goth cruise because this one SUPPOSEDLY had a better reputation than other “goth” cruises. I heard of one that basically turned into “Gothic Spring Break”. They were asked not to come back.
Nice way to represent the subculture, huh?
No body is asking you to be little gothic diplomats to the world. But come on. It’s a cruise. With hundreds of other types of folk on board. Including people in positions of authority ready to pull the plug on this cruise too. It really shouldn’t be a SuicideGirls convention.
If you need to be told not to wear electrical tape to a formal dinner or if you have interest in wearing see through clothing around children, seriously…..please don’t ruin it for the rest of us who know how to behave in public.
On a side note, I’ve already spent a lot of money on this cruise. And I plan to spend a lot more. But that will depend on whether or not this cruise goes the way that all the others have… in the proverbial Gothic toilet.
I think if you get caught performing improper behavior, we get to grab the person use them for body piercing practice for the rest of the cruise.
But we won't do that, because it would be...wrong.
We will have fun and play nice.
(buu ha ha ha!!!)
Everything you said sogo..........:)
I think me wearin electrical tape just would'nt work anyway..... I'd need a lot of tape to boot!
@ sogothithurts
Just because YOU have one set of morals, doesn't mean that everyone has that same set. In other countries, it is PERFECTLY normal to walk around in a g-string or go topless sunbathing. As far as I knew this cruise was promoted to people in other coutries...
I thought all of our events were 18+. If they are sectioned off from the rest of the cruise, I didn't know if there would be the same dress code. I personally wouldn't wear my normal club wear out around children. (as I tend to wear tiny skirts and bra tops) I also wouldn't feel comfortable being around children in a full latex catsuit...even though I would be TOTALLY covered, and would be wearing less out by the pool. But that doesn't mean that I couldn't bring a big coat to cover myself up with while walking through the ship.
Indeed.
I've promised myself that if I feel 'out of hand' I'll simply retire for the evening. I want us to LOOK the part but behave better than the golfbunnies (at least in public) so they like us enough to pour on the juice when the time comes, or let us stay up a bit late :P
Carnival has never been a problem to me at all. Only time I've ever seen security is if someone got waaaay out of hand. One guy wore a sheet for a cape stood naked in the bar and was yellin out he was Batman.... The other was a Guy that climbed the Smokestack andmade it up a good 50 ft and woudln't come down. Carnival does'nt bust balls so i don't think they will be a problem. Trust me we are gonna have an awsome time!!!!!! Can't wait to meet everyone!
Your right. Not everyone has the same ethics or morals.. however.. even though some of our events are 18+ and private, Carnival is not budging on their #1 rule
No Nudity.. keep it to your cabins.
We do have a few people who will be throwin some private parties in their suites by the way.
From what I understand, there is usually an "adults only" sunbathing deck in the upper aft section of the ship that allows for a more "european" sunbathing experience. ;-)
I thought I read somewhere that they stopped doing the topless sunbathing area.
