OMG... *changes her panties* I love it!!
When the buzz in Hollywood was for Manson to play the roll, I was floored, and hoped with all my heart that he would land the role. Since not, I am just as happy with Depp.
*craving chocolate*
*steals melody's panties and sells them on e-bay for a tidy fortune*
i think it looks good and Johny kicks ass but becouse im a Kevin Smith fan i have to say it "fuck Tim Burton."
Why make a new one when first was so great.Answer money hollywood will remake anything to make a buck. Now do not get me wrong it will most likely be good but come on give us some new movies. Not just old remakes.
I have not seen any trailers for this yet, but the buzz around it is very good. Anytime Burton teams up with Depp a great movie is the result. (Sleepy Hollow is my absolute fave by the duo.)
Radu, Hollywood does enjoy a good remake. But that's what Hollywood does. Hell, any movie based on a novel is by definition a remake because they are using creative license to put their vision of the novel on the screen.
Gene Wilder's 1971 movie (just barely older than me) is and will always be a classic. But it is seen as a silly white-washing of the novel by some. Through Burton's lens, this version may have a darker and more spectacular look. I am always impressed by his ability to put his imagination on the screen.
Did you guys know that Steve Martin, Robin Williams, Christopher Walken, Nicolas Cage, and Michael Keaton were all up for the Willy Wonka role? Obviously, this Wonka could go either to the wildly silly to the dark and sinister. I'm just glad it wasn't Cage. (sorry) Certainly Depp will bring both the dark and insane oddity to the role that it deserves. Gene Wilder was just too sweet to be menacing (except in the contract scene.)
Diamon, as a fellow Kevin Smith fan, I too say, "Fuck Tim Burton sideways", however... Burton makes a kick-ass movie, even if he dissed our favorite screenwriter/director.
SNOOGANS!
your right burton makes somewhat decent films but my statment stands
Yes, Dan. They said that this version will be more true to the original novel. The original movie wasn't as dark as it should've been. So I think that Burton will transform his version into the sinister, wonderland that it should be.
I can't wait to see it!! Tim Burton is nothing short of a God! Now to wait for the trailer to load *twiddles thumbs* Thanks for posting it Janette
Just watched the trailer...
it's scary, disturbing, cheesy, twisted... i think i'm in love.
lol me too... exactl what I expected from a Depp/Burton mix!
...couldn't bring up the trailer (said " file not found") but that's ok - Depp is the man alla way!
