Chargrilled oysters and an excellent chat. Thirty-five years of friendship, with thirty-four of that being long distance. We caught up like no time had passed at all. Too much input from the nightlife out and about though. Glad to be back home with the puppy. ❤️
Ubering to the Quarter!
COMMENTS
The quarter was so very nice to visit. There is nothing I have experienced like waking up to live jazz music in the street seeping into the windows of your- well, in our case, our hotel from another time. The food and refreshments in town were so delightful that it made it hard to eat elsewhere. The cultures were evident and abundant. The nightlife was fun; I enjoyed the vampire nooks, IYKYK. I will admit the feeling late, late at night near Bourbon was mildly troublesome, but I didn't find that surprizing either.
Tonight is the night I see my Marine Corps recruiter for the first time since the 90s. Totally forgot about it and running late. 🤦🏻♀️ Luckily for me his plane was a bit delayed. 😂
I signed in and got quite the giggle as an extremely positive post I made in The Stream had a thumbs down.👎
The first thing that came to mind was this modern classic, ***Once you hate someone, everything they do is offensive. "Look at this bitch eating those crackers like she owns the place."*** 🤷🏻♀️😂
I’m not an asshole. There are plenty of people here who may have assumed so but ended up getting along quite well with me when they approached me with common courtesy that should be given to anyone – that kind of respect is not based on “honor“ but the tact of human decency. I don’t think I’m better than anyone else here on this site. But if you just start popping off and being a royal fucknut - you can’t expect I’ll be excited to have an exchange with you. I’ve had people write all kinds of crazy crap about me in their journals, then a week later come to me in need of help and I will absolutely help them. I don’t hold what they said about me against them because I view a lot of this crap as immaturity. It’s really childish to throw a tantrum in your journal about the rules of this place.
There has hardly ever been a situation here of dispute where both sides of the fence didn’t share culpability. People throw jabs from either direction and then when one feels the other has crossed a line farther than they anticipated they come to ask for help from the administration. This is why we don’t get involved in personal disputes. There’s rarely a completely innocent party.
If I were to use admin tools all willy-nilly and on my own program – I would be just as vulnerable to Cancer’s judgment as anyone else here. 20+ years of respecting his platform has earned some trust… So he would be really disappointed in me, but he wouldn’t have a problem with continuing to place value on his own creation and stripe me of any further ability to act in his stead. I do care about this place and his trust - I would feel shame, deflation, and mortification if he was disillusioned with me – my greatest human vulnerability is the thought of a person I hold in high regard viewing me in such a way. It has nothing to do with ego. I would never intentionally risk a thing that is valuable to me. If it seems like I have in any aspect of my life, the view from your angle is probably missing a lot of context.
I am eating crackers over here – but I don’t think I own the place.
That being said – I accidentally gave my own post in The Stream a thumbs up. 🫤 I can’t remove it, so it is one “like“ ahead of its reality.

Keep up the good work and keep your head up. Your positivity is an inspiration; your light casts out shadows in even the darkest corners. I notice that there are not a lot of public responses to your journals, but I believe that they are read and appreciated. However, like myself, most of us are likely unable to find the exact words to respond. You have a certain tone that has undeniable sophistication. To put thought to text in the same vicinity can be intimidating to those who do understand you; no reasonable person would want to trespass upon you. I have seen many of your hardships and have felt the pain in your words. This is what makes the power of your resilient resurgences so impactful. All this to humbly say, thank you.
Thank you for your response. Yeah… It’s been quiet in these comments as of late. 😂🤷🏻♀️ But I’ve never been under any illusion that people were just chomping (champing is actually the correct way to say it – but it never sounds right) at the bit to interact with me.
We go through seasons, and just like the weather in New Orleans – it never flows in as predicted.
I have found as a vampire awake to eternal mysteries I can't have the same connections I did as a mundane. I've been off and on this site since 2010 and keep finding people trying to cultivate normal relationships. I don't think it's being jaded but rather the psychic senses one has you can't integrate what you perceive unless you are good at lying to yourself and/or others. As far as interacting with others like this comment I let them set the pace and if they don't respond edit it out in a dialog then I won't keep putting myself before them.
I don’t think anyone really enjoys a mundane connection.
