I’ll stand for nothing
Nothing you believe
Settle for grieving…
But you’re still breathing
On occasion
Here and there,
Every now and then
If you dare
Remembering your hands on my body
Screaming when you’d come inside me
The places we used to hide in the evil of the night
Somewhere in the void where we didn’t feel right
I grew bored and grew tired
Of what you did and how you lied
Remembering that the fist I make
Didn’t strike you by mistake
I’ll stand for nothing
Nothing you feel
I’ll never care for anything
And the pain was unreal
On occasion
Here and there,
Every now and then
If you dare
Remembering unusual events
Disturbing other occupants
The time I almost took my life
Blurred when you called me your wife
I grew out of the bullshit
When you fired and didn’t quit
I left when you weren’t aware
There wasn’t anything left in me
I had it. I simply didn’t care.
On occasion
That and this,
Every once and a while
Something I don’t miss
I’ll stand for me
What I want and what will be
I’ll stand for my own
Feeling numb but so free
On occasion
Sometimes I think
Once every so often
Of things back then…
