Zombie

05:12 Jan 28 2009
Times Read: 641

Dread looms in each

burning breath drawn,

rise and exhale from this,

your severed slumber.

Shake the mold from

your creaking joints

stretch your leather flesh

and flex your twisted

tendons toward the sky.

Rise up, fight off the

sunder from your strength

Inhale against

your destiny, this,

your airtight doom.

Stagnant fate chokes

out in sputters of

blood and water,

coughing suffered

Free yourself from

slumber eternal.

Prayer of the False Prophets

05:12 Jan 28 2009
Times Read: 642

FOREWARD

There are two poems I really, truly enjoy that I have written. Because I am NOT a poet, I hate most of my poetry work. Two particulars however have raised some positive acclaimation. "The Legend of the Outlaw Five" and, this one. Prayer of the False Prophets. I think this one is well written, because once again, it is less a poem than it is a story. This poem has in fact been compared to the style of Edgar Allen Poe, which was the greatest compliment I have ever recieved... so I submit to you, for your enjoyment

PRAYER OF THE FALSE PROPHETS

They came in the twilight of mourning.

Each dressed in soft woolen white.

Their songs had been heard

their prayers; their word

the people would follow by night.

They rose up and cried to the people.

"Kneel, or you will never know peace!"

Their message of fate, and of pleasure

and hate

brought the fearful down to their knees.

Their meandering prayers were shallow.

Wading low in their trivial tide.

they feared for the worst,

but could not have rehearsed

...their horrors...

the night that they died.

The Collector of Souls

05:09 Jan 28 2009
Times Read: 643

Everything is for sale,

name a price!

When you sold yours to to me,

what was the value of your life?

It is the want in

your eyes that I know...

and my passage into the

depths of your soul;

It is the comforts that lie

there inside you, and the

best part of yourself

that you sold.

You know yourself well

and I know you much better.

I can read through your heart

like you read through a letter.

In your eyes I can

see there is pain.

There will be a day coming

soon you will see me again.

It is your life:

Do as you please

with your hopes a

nd your dreams.

I may not yet show,

still you will know.

You'll always belong

to me.

They may call me

the Devil...

but i freed you from

all of your pain...

I gave you riches and

land and a lover.

Besides, the Devil is

all in a name.

Have no suspicions

for I am here to

make all your

dreams whole;

I am your document binder;

a lender and buyer,

holding you stock;

I am the Collector of Souls.

I really enjoyed this poem too...

I don't know how many times I've sold my soul for that one person, that one brief encounter, that one moment in my life when nothing else mattered...

I think a poem like this would be very likeable to so many people because it's easy to relate to.

The Spirit of Lust

05:07 Jan 28 2009
Times Read: 644

I am the heat

you feel inside,

the nature of

your hidden drive.

I find your hunger,

and feed the beast,

and fill you with

a different feast.

I am the darkness

at your disposal,

the resource of

your dark proposal.

I fill your urge

to feed your thighs,

and lock its

secrets in your eyes.

I am pleasure,

laiden whole.

The kindling of

a sensual soul.

I lead you

slowly into a kiss,

and draw you

deeply into bliss.

I know your secrets,

come lie with me,

tempting you

with what you see.

I am not your

heart's desire,

but wild passion

that burns like fire.

I am the voice

inside your head,

the voice that

comforts spreading legs.

I am desire

locked within,

the sounds that

echoes from within.

I am the sheen of

glow that shines,

the light that

glistens off

your lines.

I am the subtle

gleam of sweat,

a bargain that

you wont forget.

I am the scent

of sex surrounding,

the thunder of

a heartbeat pounding.

I am the want

and need for more,

the entrance to

a private store.

I am escape from

pain and harm,

the simple way

of complex charm.

A touch that warms you,

filled with trust,

The voice that

cries to you of lust.

Back for round 2

This poem is good in so many ways.

It's hot and raunchy, just like the act of intimacy should be.

It's perfectly written. The use of words create an image that takes me away to this fantasy world of lust and desire.
