Sometimes, just sometimes
a mom needs a good cry.
A time to let it all out,
until all the tears are dry,
nothing left by the drought.
Thank God for good friends
and good shoulders.
Good morning VR!
I've got a meeting at the school this morning then I'm headed over to see if Jenn's graduation proofs are ready yet.
I'm very excited about the pictures, let's hope I don't get all teary eyed at the shop..lol
Be back soon!
What a day! All three of the kids woke up this morning complaining of very sore throats. Two out of three had low grade fever and all three looked like they were about ready to keel over.
The two biguns (lol..Yep, I said biguns!) skipped track and powerlifting practice this morning and the little one didn't have anything going on at school today, so I kept them all home.
I came to work. No way am I staying home with three grouchy, puny, sickly kids! Hey, Oscar's 19, Jenn is 17 and Sara is 10. They can manage just fine. Actually, Oscar took Sara to the doc's and got some meds for all three of them. I volunteered to take them both, but he said, and I quote, "Mom, why should you take off work when I can drive us and check us both in. I'll call you if I need you." Shocked the shit out of me. He isn't exactly the picture of responsibility, if you know what I mean.
At any rate, it's not Strep, which was my concern. Our weather has been wacky here lately. One day beautiful sunshine with low winds, the next it's 52 degrees, the wind is howling and it's overcast. The doctor told them that everyone's getting ill with their sinus pressure going bonkers.
Our part-time clerk has become non-existent. The week after she started she became ill. She was out an entire week before a doctor told her she had to have surgery. It's outpatient, but she's still not back. We're working on week two without her. It's not fun and it's not easy and it's making me quite grumpy.
Job security, job security, job security....I keep chanting this to myself.
I'm lucky to have a job in our current economy.
Quit bitching
After that, I don't quite feel like strangling the part-time clerk and I'm easier to approach :)
My day in a nutshell...and it's only 4pm

A three week shut-down. I love the money that's generated by this thing, but I hate that I'll get to spend very little time with the spousal unit until it's done.
He started last Monday and will work 12 hour shifts each day until this Sunday, when they'll be give one day off. Then it's back to 12 hour shifts until the work is done.
If he was working nights, I'd be getting a free ride of sorts when it came to supper. But he's not..so I'm not. He drew the day shift which means he's home by 7:30 every night. I'll cook a big meal most of those nights, but with the kids being so busy too, some nights he'll have to eat out and take sandwiches for lunch. I really HATE that idea.
I'll be worn out from working all day, cooking, cleaning, hauling the kids, hauling their friends, going to teacher/parent meetings, graduation meetings, athletic meetings and whatever else might pop up.
I'll have to remind myself not to bitch when he helps..even if it is just a little bit.

Is this going to last forever? :/
Nope, just the next two weeks...thank goodness!
I stopped to visit Morrigon's journal today. I hadn't been there in quite a while.
I was so impressed with the photos she had there. That little nephew of hers is just too cute and it reminded me of my neice.
Oh she's bigger now, but we don't see her very often. I had a quick snapshot taken of us both when she was here and I keep it by my desk (I just peeked over at it and it made me smile).
..anyway..back to Morrigon's photos..lol
She's really very good at it. I don't go by often, but when I do, more often than not, I'm impressed with the quality of the photos she has posted.
Stop by and take a look at them if you haven't lately. I wish I could snap shots without fussing with all the gadgety buttons and settings. She makes the shots seem effortless. I like that.
OYe but I'm working my ass off!
The part time clerk completed her police academy course. So now she's a full fledged officer and I'm out one part time clerk.
This, of course, means I have my work cut out for me. A new part time clerk was hired, but after 2 wks of work, she's been placed in the hospital for surgery and no idea when she'll be back.
It might be another good while before I'm able to come back to this full time. As it is, I'm sneaking more time here than I should.
..and here I thought my nicotine addiction was gonna be hard to quit!
I've been so tired lately. I just don't seem to have the energy to do much of anything.
I've been slacking here, when I pledged to do some rating in hopes of moving myself up. That's not happening now and I feel bad about it.
I'll get my energy back....

You may have chronic fatigue. Try doing a cleanse. I just started an Acai Berry Cleanse. It can help get the toxins out that are making you feel sluggish.
You Can Do IT!
That made me laugh Dabbler. I immediately had The Waterboy movie popping into my head :)
Damn...you'd think I just put out a sign that said
'free buffet' or something.
lol
I'm actually attempting to work my way up.
Let me tell you, I'm not a happy camper. I don't rate often, I don't add anything to the database. Aside from reading, commenting and visiting, I am not a very active member.
I've never pushed myself to reach Sire level. After three years, it just doesn't hold any great mystery to me. I'd rather take my sweet time and get to know more about everything.
Hell, who am I kidding? I just don't like to rate or add things. Blech.
I've changed my mind though. For a worthy cause, I'm going to actually attempt this.
