~Don't Fear Me~
In questions I thrive, in questions I've lived.
Derived from the ceaseless self doubt I was gived.
I question it all, from the bad to the good
I'll risk not a chance that I've misunderstood.
I'll drive you quite mad, if you idly mis-spoke.
I'll prod you for clarity, for the truth I will poke.
I'll note the deep tones that you haven't well hid.
I'll remember which judgements you placed when you did.
And I'll do it all plainly, I do it all still.
And I'll find out eventually whether you lie, with a will.
Willing intent to deceive I, or myself.
Or simply mistook the words, chosen for self.
For we don't all always lie with a smirk and a shrill
I harbor that only sick few seek the thrill.
And that's why I question, ev'ry word that you speak
When you try to sell me situations that most others don't seek.
Stories told idly, whether taken with care
Of shared most maliciously with a haphazard flair
Words chosen carefully, emotions well toned
And told with a fervor, an audience honed.
Do the details all matter? Do the details you seek?
Does it bother you greatly, my truth interest piqued?
Does my search for understanding threaten your story?
Do you fear the drama may get lost in its own glory?
I'll meticulously question, as much as I can.
In search for quality, and honor hidden in man.
Don't disappoint me, like so many have prior.
Keep in mind, numerous questions only ever bother... a liar.
