So let me tell you the crap that's been oing down in our lives.

Last Sunday Gina hydroplaned in her car on a curve, crossed into the other lane and hit a Jeep Liberty with her little Metro. Good news - Everyone walked away uninjured. Bad news - Both vehicles were totaled.

Last Tuesday night a friend of David, one of his mentors in Boy Scouting passed away. He was only 19 years old and had such a bright future. He suffered a brain anurysim in his sleep. Everyone who knew this young man is just torn apart by his sudden passing. We went to his funeral on Saturday and it was just heartwrenching. It was tough to see so many strong young men breaking down in tears and sobbing. I can't imagine the pain his parents are experiencing.

At church, where I am an Elder, our Pastor has decided to leave our congregation for health reasons. Our Associate Pastor is 8 1/2 months pregnant and is scheduled to have a C-Section a week before the head Pastor leaves. Really bad timing. This will put us in a position going from 2 full time Pastors everyone in the Congregation knows and is comfortable with to a temporary "Supply" pastor that no one will know. A lot of effort will be required during the upcoming transitions.

On the good side, Chrissy was offered a full time salaried position with the company she has been temping at. She is now fully employed with full insurance and benefits. She and Liam have been car and apartment shopping.

Gina and I bought a new car this evening and we pick it up tomorrow. It will be very nice not to have to worry about car repairs on at least one vehicle for 3 years.

Now you know why I haven't been around The Rave of late.

I sure hope things settle down!

You've been missed around here but it seems you were needed much more there. I'm very thankful Gina and the other driver are okay and you've already replaced the car too. Death of one so young is so hard and there's no way to truly understand it. I sure hope things calm down for you soon. *but in a good way*

Back!

Vacation was mostly great.

Colonial Williamsburg was awesome as was the campground in Williamsburg.

We had planned to visit both Jamestown and Yorktown when we left for Virginia Beach. We ended up spending the whole day at Jamestown. The Jamestown Settlement site was very interesting with a great museum as well as the reconstructed 1607 Fort, Powhatan Village and reproductions of the Three ships that brought the settlers.

Historic Jamestown has an Archeological dig going on, where they have located much of the original Fort and buildings and an amazing museum holding the discoveries the archeologists have made.

By the time we got to Virginia Beach it was pouring rain. Luckily we were able to secure a cabin at the campsite for the night and avoided having to set up camp in the pouring rain!

The next day dried out and we were fine until Sunday Night. We had a couple great beach days with perfect conditions on Saturday.

Sunday we backtracked and went to Yorktown which was very good as well.

Sunday night it rained again as well as into Monday morning. We ended up having to pack up in the rain.

The ride home was uneventful.

It was rough going back to work yesterday!

Today David came home from the Scout Jamboree. Sadly two of the busses from the council got into an accident (One rear ended the other) and a few scouts were injured. All apperas to be minor and they finally made it home.
