A reminder to myself that problems are so relative. I have none. Messy bedrooms and volleyballs in the ditch, a tight budget, and a doggy who sneaks a poop upstairs now and again, worries about various insignificant things I cannot control.... these are not problems.

I received a call at work from a client. A mother. I won't bother describing how she sounded...I don't think I could come close.

She was asking for a donation to the funeral home where her son was to be buried. He had been shot and killed.

I just printed that check. I tucked it into the envelope and stamped it. I haven't spoken out loud since.

My daughter just texted me that she made an "A" on both of her exams today. I texted back, "Let's celebrate." Later this evening, she has volleyball practice. I'm ashamed to admit that I sometimes feel annoyed when it's time to drive her. I feel the deep need to love on my kids.

My sorrow for the mother who can no longer put her arms around her son spills out in tears that can't help her at all. I'm praying. I'm not even totally sure what or how I'm praying, just pressing outwardly a hurt I can't vocalize.

It's nice to see somebody vocalizing this. I think this all the time when people are whining about things(I'm sure I am not totally innocent). There are much bigger things going on that what many people tend to think of as big problems.

I keep reading your posts on here and feel such a need to embrace everyone I love and hold them impossibly close to me. I never want to know what it is like to lose someone like that. I don't think I could endure it. I can't even imagine it without crying and you talk to such people every day. I don't know how you do it, truly I don't.

Is your environment spooky, moldy, covered in flourescent green slime? Are you still asking, "Who ya Gonna Call?" Well, knock it off and call the guys the Ghost Busters call when it's too creepy for them!
