It's bright outside,

The hours late,

The city lights reflect my only sun.



The street below,

Casting shadows from the lamp,

Across the pavement to my room...

And it's begun.



Another night of wanton' dreams,

Another silver reverie,

Another passing car as shadows sweep the floor.



An empty bed is all it seems,

Is what is left to comfort me,

with a smile I know I'd wait forever more.
