The Used: The Bird and the Worm
Killswitch Engage: My Curse
AFI: The Missing Frame

Personality:

I've changed a lot...life tends to do that to you. And the deaths of a few friends and the divorce of your parents tends to shove you into a state of maturity from a young age. I'm a quiet, reserved person who likes to absorb as much knowledge as possible, and then explode into a massive debate when it's least expected. I love surprising people, and I try to be as random and unpredictable as possible. I love mind games, I love psychology, and I love difficult riddles. Computers and photography are my strongs points, and I don't have many weak points due to my generalistic nature. Either I'm average in something or I excel in it. It's not that I'm smart or talented, it's that I don't give up, ever.
Despite the masculine stereotype of a guy, I'm not a "macho man" testorone driven guy. I'm more in tune to emotions than the average male, and I enjoy the romantic side to things. The special girl out there that is in a relationship won't be disappointed, as she and I could write poetry and music together.
This doesn't mean I'm a completely softy weakling, however. I usually push anything that annoys me out of the way, and you don't want to be the person who gets on my nerves when I'm about to explode. I never take out my anger on loved ones, and it takes a real asshole to irritate me to the point of violence.

Bands I Like

My favorite band is Killswitch Engage. Other bands I like include Aerosmith, AFI, Alterbridge, Audioslave, Avenged Sevenfold, Beethoven, Black Sabbath, Boston, Cradle of Filth, Def Leppard, Disturbed, Dream Theater, The Eagles, Earth, Wind, & and Fire, Enigma, Enya, Eric Clapton, Europe, Evanescence, Foreigner, Godsmack, Guns N' Roses, Incubus, In Flames, Journey, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Nirvana, PANIC! At the Disco, Papa Roach, Pink Floyd, Queen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Rolling Stones, Scorpions, Soundgarden, Stone Sour, System of a Down, Three Days Grace, Tom Petty, Train, Type O Negative, U2, The Used, Van Halen, Whitesnake, Wumpscut, and Yanni.

Interests

My interests lie in things related to literature, art, and music. I love reading, writing, and studying the great minds of our past such as Edgar Allan Poe, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Oscar Wilde. As for art, my favorite type is Surrealism. Dali was my favorite surrealist.
I am greatly involved in photography and graphic design with Adobe Photoshop CS2. For some of my art, check out my DeviantART account.
As for musical tastes, I usually love the Type O Negative, Cradle of Filth, or Dream Theater feel to my music...that sort of epic aura to songs that you can lie back in a dark, candlelit room and just meditate to.

Cats

I love cats. This is one exceptional picture I found on DeviantART.com. Felines are beautiful creatures, and I would take them over dogs any day.

Hobbies:

Diablo II

Diablo II: Lord of Destruction

Diablo II is one of the greatest games of all time. Not only was it made by the legendary Blizzard Entertainment, it contains wonderful music fit for the dark theme of the game. I have an account on Battle.net, but I am rarely on...add Ryugin on USEast as a friend and you may find me sometime.

_____________________________________________________________________
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starcraft

Starcraft: Broodwar

Starcraft and its expansion are also by Blizzard Entertainment. The gameplay is related to that such as Age of Empires or Empire Earth, except with an outer space them. The storyline is as wonderful as the real-time strategy gameplay, which is irresistable on single player or over Battle.net or a LAN connection among friends.

_____________________________________________________________________
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Warcraft III

Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne

Again, Blizzard Entertainment. This game is very much like Starcraft, except in a fantasy world of magic on a terrestrial planet. Not much of a difference except the units are a lot tougher so the cost of a unit is higher and the chance of a horde of enemies to the opponent isn't as easy or impressive as a Zerg invasion on Starcraft might be.

_____________________________________________________________________
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

World of Warcraft

Should I even mention who made this game, or do you get the drift by now? World of Warcraft is by far the greatest MMORPG ever created. The gameplay is first person in the same world that Warcraft III is based on. In this game you actually level up, acquire armor, and team up with many other players to conquer quests, instances, or 40-man raid dungeons. Very addictive, so watch your hours of sleep.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy Advent Children

Ah, Final Fantasy. This is the best game series in the world, in my humble opinion. I'll never forget the younger days of my life spent playing Final Fantasy VII and IX. Beautiful romantic storylines, addictive challenging gameplay, and wonderful, wonderful music. Strongly recommended for anybody who hasn't touched them. Don't play much past Final Fantasy X though...SquareEnix isn't as good as the old Squaresoft to me.

Yuffie!Vincent... Aeris! ^^Cloud ('-')Tifa! ^-^

Board Games

Cool chess board, no?

The greatest of all board games, chess. Irrestible. Until the wonderful internet became so developed it was hard to find somebody to play with me. Now there are millions to play with to better myself. Add me on Yahoo! Messenger sometime (picturesque_sorrow) and usually I'll find time to play with you.

A King, duh.

Favorite Books

In no particular order:

The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (1-6), The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, the Eye of the World series, The Dark Elf Trilogy, Icewind Dale, The Belgariad, The Wayfarer Redemption series, The Dark is Rising series, and Interview With the Vampire.

_____________________________________________________________________

Robert Jordan's Eye of the World series is just amazing. It deals with one young man, Rand, who discovers he is the Dragon Reborn - one of the few men in the world who can use the male side of the One Power, which has long since been corrupted by the Dark Lord. The women, or Aes Sedai, usually hold the power in this story, since the female side of the One Power (although significantly less powerful than the male side) hasn't been corrupted. Eventually our poor Rand will go crazy, as all men tainted with corrupted male power do...perhaps. The books are really good, and I suggest getting them. I was up in the early hours of the morning reading these.

_____________________________________________________________________

Harry Potter...ah, distinctly I remember the first one. I couldn't stop until the last one, which was the 4th at the time. Now we're all awaiting the latest book and movie.

_____________________________________________________________________

We can't forget the now-popular Lord of the Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien, one of my personal favorite authors. I've read all 3 books in the trilogy, and well as the "prequel" The Hobbit.

_____________________________________________________________________

The last series that I will go into is the Wayfarer Redemption series by Sara Douglas. This series is beautifully illustrated (even in the artwork :P) and is one of the most alluring series I've ever read. A little hint of it - The main character, Axis, finds he is the one destined to save the world (hence the name) from evil Gorgrael... And with all stories such as this there are beautiful ladies, such as the lovely Faraday or the enchanting Azhure. (My favorite.) The series is filled with tricks and traps, and continues on so far past Gorgrael that Axis's son ends up being the main character in the latter books.

Yes, I'm in the lovely house of Lunazure, handpicked by the great ElderDaniel himself. (Although my sister did help in getting me noticed.) After I was in it a little while I got to know a bit of the members and I'm now the rector of the Laboratory Workshop Guilde Hall, an internal forum hall within our house.

The Raven
by Edgar Allan Poe

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
`'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door -
Only this, and nothing more.'

Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December,
And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the morrow; - vainly I had sought to borrow
From my books surcease of sorrow - sorrow for the lost Lenore -
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels named Lenore -
Nameless here for evermore.

And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain
Thrilled me - filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before;
So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating
`'Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door -
Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door; -
This it is, and nothing more,'

Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer,
`Sir,' said I, `or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore;
But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping,
And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door,
That I scarce was sure I heard you' - here I opened wide the door; -
Darkness there, and nothing more.

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before
But the silence was unbroken, and the darkness gave no token,
And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, `Lenore!'
This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, `Lenore!'
Merely this and nothing more.

Back into the chamber turning, all my soul within me burning,
Soon again I heard a tapping somewhat louder than before.
`Surely,' said I, `surely that is something at my window lattice;
Let me see then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore -
Let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore; -
'Tis the wind and nothing more!'

Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,
In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore.
Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he;
But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door -
Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door -
Perched, and sat, and nothing more.

Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
`Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,' I said, `art sure no craven.
Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the nightly shore -
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!'
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'

Much I marvelled this ungainly fowl to hear discourse so plainly,
Though its answer little meaning - little relevancy bore;
For we cannot help agreeing that no living human being
Ever yet was blessed with seeing bird above his chamber door -
Bird or beast above the sculptured bust above his chamber door,
With such name as `Nevermore.'

But the raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only,
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing further then he uttered - not a feather then he fluttered -
Till I scarcely more than muttered `Other friends have flown before -
On the morrow will he leave me, as my hopes have flown before.'
Then the bird said, `Nevermore.'

Startled at the stillness broken by reply so aptly spoken,
`Doubtless,' said I, `what it utters is its only stock and store,
Caught from some unhappy master whom unmerciful disaster
Followed fast and followed faster till his songs one burden bore -
Till the dirges of his hope that melancholy burden bore
Of "Never-nevermore."'

But the raven still beguiling all my sad soul into smiling,
Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bird and bust and door;
Then, upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linking
Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bird of yore -
What this grim, ungainly, gaunt, and ominous bird of yore
Meant in croaking `Nevermore.'

This I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressing
To the fowl whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom's core;
This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease reclining
On the cushion's velvet lining that the lamp-light gloated o'er,
But whose velvet violet lining with the lamp-light gloating o'er,
She shall press, ah, nevermore!

Then, methought, the air grew denser, perfumed from an unseen censer
Swung by Seraphim whose foot-falls tinkled on the tufted floor.
`Wretch,' I cried, `thy God hath lent thee - by these angels he has sent thee
Respite - respite and nepenthe from thy memories of Lenore!
Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe, and forget this lost Lenore!'
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'

`Prophet!' said I, `thing of evil! - prophet still, if bird or devil! -
Whether tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore,
Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted -
On this home by horror haunted - tell me truly, I implore -
Is there - is there balm in Gilead? - tell me - tell me, I implore!'
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'

`Prophet!' said I, `thing of evil! - prophet still, if bird or devil!
By that Heaven that bends above us - by that God we both adore -
Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn,
It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels named Lenore -
Clasp a rare and radiant maiden, whom the angels named Lenore?'
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'

`Be that word our sign of parting, bird or fiend!' I shrieked upstarting -
`Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore!
Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken!
Leave my loneliness unbroken! - quit the bust above my door!
Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!'
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'

And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted - nevermore!
