Biography for Johnny Depp:Johnny Depp was born in Owensboro, Kentucky to John Christopher Depp, Sr. and Betty Sue Wells.[1] He has one brother, Danny, and two sisters, Christie (who now is Depp's personal manager) and Debbie. The Depp family has mostly Irish, German and Cherokee ancestry. The book "Johnny Depp: A Kind of Illusion" states that the Depp family originated with a French huguenot Pierre Deppe who settled in Virginia. Johnny Depp has said he doesn't know the origin of his surname, but he repeatedly jokes that the name translates to "idiot" in German (which is actually true) . Depp's maternal great-grandmother, Minnie, was a full-blooded Cherokee, and his father also has distant Cherokee heritage. The family was constantly on the move during Depp's childhood, and he and his siblings lived in more than twenty different locations, finally settling in Miramar, Florida in 1970, when he was 7. Depp engaged in self-harm as a child, due to the stress of dealing with family problems and his own insecurity. He has seven or eight scars from practicing self-harm. In a 1993 interview, he explained his self-injury by saying that his "body is a journal in a way. It's like what sailors used to do, where every tattoo meant something, a specific time in your life when you make a mark on yourself, whether you do it yourself with a knife or with a professional tattoo artist".
Depp's parents divorced in 1978, and he dropped out of school a year later to become a rock musician. (As he explained on Inside the Actors Studio, he attempted to go back two weeks later, but the principal told him to follow his dream of being a musician, which Depp said was "really sweet.") Depp's mother bought him a guitar at the age of twelve, and he began playing in garage bands. He played with a band named, "The Kids," who had modest local success and set out for Los Angeles, California in pursuit of a record deal. At this time, they changed their name to "Six Gun Method." Johnny Depp's first major role was in the 1984 horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street. In 1986, he also appeared in a secondary role as a Vietnamese speaking private in Oliver Stone's Platoon. Depp was later cast in a lead role on the FOX TV television series, 21 Jump Street, which premiered in 1987. The series' success turned Depp into a popular teen idol during the late 1980s. Depp found the status an irritant, noting that he felt "forced into the role of product" and describing it as a "very uncomfortable situation and I didn’t get a handle on it and it wasn’t on my terms at all." Depp promised to himself that after his contract on the series had expired, he would only appear in films that he felt were "right" for himself.
Depp left his teen idol image in 1990, after playing the quirky title role in the Tim Burton film, Edward Scissorhands. The film's success began a long association with Burton, as Depp starred in several of his films, including Ed Wood (1994), Sleepy Hollow (1999), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) and Corpse Bride (2005). Depp, an avid fan and long-time friend of writer Hunter S. Thompson, played a version of Thompson (named Raoul Duke) in 1998's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, based on Thompson's novel of the same name. Since his first marriage ended, Depp has dated and been engaged to Sherilyn Fenn, Jennifer Grey, Winona Ryder and Kate Moss. Depp is now in a long-term relationship with French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis,whom he met while filming The Ninth Gate in 1998; the couple were recently wed at their home in France, according to 'Star' magazine.[16] The couple have two children, daughter Lily-Rose Melody Depp (b. May 27, 1999) and son John Christopher "Jack" Depp III (b. April 9, 2002). Depp has noted that having children has given him "real foundation, a real strong place to stand in life, in work, in everything." "You can't plan the kind of deep love that results in children. Fatherhood was not a conscious decision. It was part of the wonderful ride I was on. It was destiny; kismet. All the math finally worked." The family divides their time between Los Angeles and a villa in France. Depp also owns an island in the Bahamas, where he spends some of his time.
In 2003, Depp was quoted as criticizing the United States in Germany's Stern magazine, commenting that "America is dumb, is something like a dumb puppy that has big teeth - that can bite and hurt you, aggressive." Depp has been arrested several times. His first arrest was in Vancouver B.C for a late-night altercation in a hotel lobby. He was accused of allowing drugs to be sold at his club The Viper Room, after actor River Phoenix died in front of the club from a drug overdose in 1993, although the owners were deemed as not involved in the death. In 1994, Depp was arrested and questioned by police for allegedly causing serious damage to a New York City hotel suite. "There was no model; Saitou Hajime was a real person. But unlike Sagara Souzou and Yamagata Aritomo, he has a deep influence on the story, so I adapted him quite a bit. I adapted him so much that I received protesting letters from fans of the Shinsengumi. (I’ve received protest letters before but now most of them are about Saitou.) But Saitou justs seems to get more and more popular, so I’m really happy. The character Saitou is still in progress, so I’ll keep quiet about the historical facts and the details about the plot, but I like the way he’s drawn as an aloof "dirty hero" who carries out his ideal of "Kill. Evil. Instantly," never a simple good guy and always antagonistic to Kenshin and the others.
Other than the above I had no design. Since he was introduced in the beginning as a bad guy, I gave him a villain’s face, but I got protest letters about this too. It seems the fans of the Shinsengumi think of him as a gentle handsome man, even though there isn’t a single photograph left of him, so . . . (There is a portrait, though. It’s there, but those who want to think of Saitou as handsome probably shouldn’t look at it.) I also got letters saying, "What’s Saitou doing selling the Hijikata family’s Ishida Sanyaku?!" To put it simply, that was just a joke. And to those who protested that Akamatsu seemed like a practical joke, I am very repentant. But getting so many letters about such little things actually makes me very sad. I’m a manga artist and only human. Shinsengumi fans, can’t you read this manga a little more forgivingly . . ."
Gatotsu Ishiki - Saitou's normal gatotsu (first form) that you see a lot in RK. It is a parallel thrust that targets the upper body of the enemy. He uses this attack all the time especially against Kenshin, where Kenshin even calls him on it. However perhaps he was lulling Kenshin into a false sense of security... *snicker*
Gatotsu Nishiki - Second form of the gatotsu that is an air attack. It is performed while on air to opponents on the ground. I've not seen him do this much except for when he fought Shishio Makoto. It looks pretty cool though.
Gatotsu Sanshiki - Third form of gatotsu that is an anti-air attack. It is a thrust from the ground to air on opponents who are up in the air. Again this was used against the final fight with Shishio where the spectators Hoji, Yumi and Sano dropped their jaws wondering who won the fight while suspended on air.
Gatotsu Zeroshiki - The ultimate form of gatotsu which is Saitou's secret attack. It requires upper body strength as the legs are not much used aside from support. It is a point blank attack that usually surprises opponents as all the other gatotsu forms require some distance to provide strength and speed to the forward thrust. He was forced to use this against Usui where he won the fight but unfortunately failed in stopping Shishio. Well of coure he's not the "hero" but I still love him nonetheless.
