Community support in times of crises
We as a Vampire Rave community, need to show support to those in this network, who are experiencing a degree of life's difficulties. It seems every week I get notice of the following, happening to people here:
Loss of employment
Relationship issues, people getting divorced, being deceived or cheated on.
Family abandonment. Just recently one of my dear VR at age 16 was rejected from her home, by a neglectful parents.
Death in the family or spouse, boy/girlfriends, partners
People seeking emotional healing
Some VR people are facing homelessness, or recovering from that.
Even if we can't help monetarily, we should at least offer emotional and spiritual support as much as power. Even kinds words of advice are a good first step. Researching things for people, or pointing them in a positive direction helps.
This what I consider important in such a social network as ours. Not just the fun stuff. Such a community as ours needs this, since we're considered so far from the "mainstream."

Agreed, I hate the loose aloof treatment of those who have been here quite a while. Strength in loyalty and unity. Even if some are a bit crazy or have emo problems. I would like to fund a charity so members in need have a place to go,,,working on the money side...a school and educational facility would also be included. If I win the Lotto there will be anew international facility in Seattle...we will see...

I agree.And the beauty of it is,there are many here who do exactly that.It is one of the reasons I stay at VR...because there are those here who truly do have compassion for others.

Good thing you posted this, even though it's not suitable for non us residents, but I agree emotional support is helpful. For some people this site is a like a second home.

I AGREE ,WE SHOULD STAND TOGETHER TO PROTECT GUIDE AND COMFORT OUR FAMILY AND OUR FRIENDS BOTH HERE AT VR AND OFF VR. WE SHOULD SET THE EXAMPLE AND REMEMBER HOW LUCKY WE ARE TO HAVE FRIENDS FAMILY A HOME ETC. I HAVE BEEN HERE NOW 6 YEARS AND THE KINDNESS AND SUPPORT I HAVE BEEN GIVEN HERE BY PEOPLE DURING MY HARD TIMES HAS MEANT SO MUCH TO ME AND HELPED NOT ONLY ME BUT MY SON ALSO. THE FACT THAT PEOPLE STOOD BY ME IN MY HARD TIMES IS ONE OF THE MANY REASONS I AM HERE AT VR. A KIND WORD SOMETIMES CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE TO SOMEONE FALLING APART IN DESPAIR AND SORROW OR FINDING THEIR WAY AND BECOMING HAPPY AND MAKING IT THREW THEIR PROBLEMS.
