Most of you have probably heard of the Coral Castle in Homestead ,Fla.
If not, here is some info on it.

About 30 miles south of Miami, Florida, in a town called Homestead, lies an unusual—some would say impossible—structure, composed of coral rock. Called the Coral Castle, it has a colorful past. It was the life's work of a reclusive Latvian immigrant named Edward Leedskalnin, who built the complex after being jilted by his sixteen-year-old sweetheart on their wedding day.

As a tribute to his love, Leedskalnin allegedly cut, quarried, and raised the castle, consisting of more than 1,000 tons of coral rock formed into furniture and large slabs. He began his work in 1920 and continued until his death in 1951.

Under any circumstances the castle is a remarkable feat, though how exactly the man did it has puzzled many, for he supposedly worked without assistance or the use of modern machinery.

I am wondering what your personal thoughts might be as to how he did it..

My apologies...Here is the rest of that article.

Many sources suggest that the castle is scientifically inexplicable. One typical magazine article claimed, "The question that has perplexed engineers and scientists for decades is how such a tiny, uneducated man single-handedly built such a place." According to the castle's Web site, "Coral Castle has baffled scientists, engineers, and scholars since its opening in 1923."

The castle has been featured in dozens of magazines and books on the unexplained, as well as on television shows such as "In Search Of," "That's Incredible" and "Ripley's Believe It Or Not."

British rocker Billy Idol even wrote a hit song about Leedskalnin's story, "Sweet Sixteen."

Over the decades, many stories and wild theories have emerged about Leedskalnin and his castle. Some say he levitated the blocks with his mind, or by singing to the stones. Others suggest Leedskalnin had arcane knowledge of magnetism and so-called "earth energies." One author suggested that perhaps Leedskalnin found that "there's no such thing as gravity." Since science supposedly could not explain the feat, wild speculation took hold.

It's easy to claim the castle defies scientific explanation, but searches for the investigations made by perplexed and baffled scientists come up empty. Despite the information on their Web site, the Coral Castle information booth was unable to identify a single scientist or engineer who had specifically examined the castle. This puts the claim in a whole new light, since "hasn't explained" is clearly not the same as "can't explain."

There is one detail that virtually all agree on: since the reclusive Leedskalnin spent nearly thirty years working mostly at night and away from prying eyes, no one actually saw him move the coral. Since no one saw the blocks actually being moved, no one can state for certain that the task was accomplished by Leedskalnin alone. The claim that Leedskalnin didn't use modern (post-1920s) tools is obviously true, but the mistake is in assuming that modern tools are required to move the large blocks of coral.

Ultimately—and ironically—the solution may lie in Leedskalnin's own simple explanation: that he did it using principles of weight and leverage. "I have discovered the secrets of the pyramids," he said, employing the same methods used by ancient Egyptians. If Leedskalnin was being truthful, then the mystery is solved, for the methods by which the Egyptian pyramids could be constructed are well understood (see, for example, Mark Lehner's 1997 book The Complete Pyramids).

Photos exist of large tripods, pulleys, and winches at the Coral Castle site, and several sources (e.g., Wallace Wallington's Web site http://www.theforgottentechnology.com) demonstrate how massive weights can be moved by one or two people using simple physics. (The comparisons to Egypt's pyramids are a red herring; there are vast differences in weight, material, and complexity between the castle's coral slabs and the huge stone pyramids at Giza. Because coral is porous, large blocks appear heavier than they actually are.)

Many mystery mongers arrogantly assume that those living in earlier times (such as Leedskalnin, or the ancient Egyptians) were not clever or resourceful enough to possibly have created impressive engineering feats without extraterrestial aid or mysterious powers. This view betrays an ignorance of history and sadly underestimates human ingenuity. It seems likely that if scientists haven't explained the Coral Castle specifically, it's because there's little to "explain." The Coral Castle mystery seems to be simply a matter of poorly-informed people who reject a mundane reality in favor of a fanciful myth.

My personal opinion would be the most "mundane" explanation - because coral is lightweight, he did it himself with the levers and pulleys.

I'm not one for the fanciful when a simple explanation exists...

You can go to the URL above if you want to see more. I have had information on the Coral Castle in this section of my ezine Midnight Magica called Dark Arts, Metaphysics & Science almost three years. There are photos included on a couple of the pages. I have Coral Castle, The Castle Enigma. Videos on it from In Search Of and another video that shows how someone moved large stones in his backyard to create his own mini Stone Henge.

The problem with the man who built the Coral Castle is he was very short and the distance to the quarry was miles away and he only worked at night. No one saw him supposedly moving the stones. So its sort of become quite a tale in Florida.

I think he had help and he used pullies and levers. Some of the stones were really large and without help I don't see how a man, I think who was a dwarf essentially could have done it. He had no truck and rode a bicycle everywhere. He was barely over five feet tall and weighed 100 lbs and supposedly was suffering from tuberculosis. Heh

Excerpt from my own article:

If we were to look at the weight of parts of his building it would surely seem a feat no normal man could complete solely on his own. The walls alone weighed 125 pounds per cubic foot and the walls were eight feet tall, four feet wide and 3 feet thick. Each section of the wall weighed around 58 tons. He built lookout towers for his privacy and it is said he mostly worked at night with laterns for light.

The coral he used, cut and carved had to be moved ten miles to his site yet no one can come forth stating they ever saw him loading or unloading any sort of truck anywhere at any time. The coral at times was as much as 4,000 feet thick and yet he cut it and moved huge blocks of it back to where he was building his castle. This was an amazing feat indeed and one which no one can explain except by theory. Some say he figured out how the pyramids were built and some have photos that have miraculously appeared showing him using some sort of pulley system.

I have always been fascinated with the Castle and any other structure believed to be built by "magical" means or with harmonics. Here is another story that I have been investigating for a number of years...

We know from the priests of the far east that they were able to lift heavy boulders up high mountains with the help of groups of various sounds. The knowledge of the various vibrations in the audio range demonstrates to a scientist of physics that a vibrating and condensed sound field can nullify the power of gravitation. Swedish engineer Olaf Alexanderson wrote about this phenomenon in the publication, Implosion No. 13. The following report is based on observations which were made only 20 years ago in Tibet. I have this report from civil engineer and flight manager, Henry Kjelson, a friend of mine. He later on included this report in his book The Lost Techniques.

This is his report: A Swedish doctor, Dr Jarl, a friend of Kjelsons, studied at Oxford. During those times he became friends with a young Tibetan student. A couple of years later, it was 1939, Dr Jarl made a journey to Egypt for the English Scientific Society. There he was seen by a messenger of his Tibetan friend, and urgently requested to come to Tibet to treat a high Lama. After Dr Jarl got the leave he followed the messenger and arrived after a long journey by plane and Yak caravans, at the monastery, where the old Lama and his friend who was now holding a high position were now living.

Dr Jarl stayed there for some time, and because of his friendship with the Tibetans he learned a lot of things that other foreigners had no chance to hear about, or observe.

One day his friend took him to a place in the neighborhood of the monastery and showed him a sloping meadow which was surrounded in the north west by high cliffs. In one of the rock walls, at a height of about 250 metres was a big hole which looked like the entrance to a cave. In front of this hole there was a platform on which the monks were building a rock wall. The only access to this platform was from the top of the cliff and the monks lowered themselves down with the help of ropes.

In the middle of the meadow, about 250 metres from the cliff, was a polished slab of rock with a bowl like cavity in the centre. The bowl had a diameter of one metre and a depth of 15 centimeters. A block of stone was manoeuvred into this cavity by Yak oxen. The block was one metre wide and one and one-half metres long. Then 19 musical instruments were set in an arc of 90 degrees at a distance of 63 metres from the stone slab. The radius of 63 metres was measured out accurately. The musical instruments consisted of 13 drums and six trumpets. (Ragdons). Eight drums had a cross-section of one metre, and a length of one and one- half metres. Four drums were medium size with a cross-section of 0.7 metre and a length of one metre. The only small drum had a cross-section of 0.2 metres and a length of 0.3 metres. All the trumpets were the same size. They had a length of 3.12 metres and an opening of 0.3 metres.

The big drums and all the trumpets were fixed on mounts which could be adjusted with staffs in the direction of the slab of stone. The big drums were made of 3mm thick sheet iron, and had a weight of 150 kg. They were built in five sections. All the drums were open at one end, while the other end had a bottom of metal, on which the monks beat with big leather clubs. Behind each instrument was a row of monks. When the stone was in position the monk behind the small drum gave a signal to start the concert. The small drum had a very sharp sound, and could be heard even with the other instruments making a terrible din. All the monks were singing and chanting a prayer, slowly increasing the tempo of this unbelievable noise. During the first four minutes nothing happened, then as the speed of the drumming, and the noise, increased, the big stone block started to rock and sway, and suddenly it took off into the air with an increasing speed in the direction of the platform in front of the cave hole 250 metres high. After three minutes of ascent it landed on the platform.

Continuously they brought new blocks to the meadow, and the monks using this method, transported 5 to 6 blocks per hour on a parabolic flight track approximately 500 metres long and 250 metres high. From time to time a stone split, and the monks moved the split stones away. Quite an unbelievable task. Dr Jarl knew about the hurling of the stones. Tibetan experts like Linaver, Spalding and Huc had spoken about it, but they had never seen it. So Dr Jarl was the first foreigner who had the opportunity to see this remarkable spectacle. Because he had the opinion in the beginning that he was the victim of mass-psychosis he made two films of the incident. The films showed exactly the same things that he had witnessed.

The English Society for which Dr Jarl was working confiscated the two films and declared them classified. They will not be released until 1990. This action is rather hard to explain, or understand.

There is a photo somewhere online of him standing by a ladder and with levers and pullies although he did write 3 pamphlets on “Magnetic Current." When I researched it said you could buy his pamphlets at:

www.coralcastle.com

It still doesn't explain why they say no one saw him moving a single stone in any way, shape or form. I ran across this accidentally. I was researching something else but don't remember what now. Oh, I think it was a free article I found on a website that I use now and again for my ezine and then I added my own. It's been awhile.

Here is a good little bit on it...

Each of these blocks weigh over 20 tons,
Edward Leedskalnin the engineer/builder did this work all by himself even though he was a very small man – 5 feet tall, weighing only 100 pounds. He did not own tall, heavy cranes which engineers use today to construct buildings. He was asked: Why did you do it? ‘Someday, my Sweet 16 will come,’ was always his response. Leedskalnin eventually quarried and sculpted over 1,100 tons of coral into a monument that would later be known as the Coral Castle. Leedskalnin gave polite, but cryptic answers to visitors’ questions regarding his construction methods, which to this day remain a mystery. In spite of his private nature, he eventually opened his monument to the public, offering tours for 10 cents. He was a surprisingly accommodating host, even cooking hot dogs for visiting children in a pressure-cooker of his own invention.

Coral Castle has attracted the international attention of professional construction engineers, astounded and mystified by the apparently impossible achievement of this diminutive wonder-worker. In the mid-1970s, for example, a large bulldozer was hired to manipulate a coral block equivalent to the Castle’s 30-ton monolith; the bulldozer could not even lift it.

Alternative science investigators suggest that Leedskalnin somehow learned the secret of the “world grid,” an invisible pattern of energy lines surrounding the Earth which concentrates points of telluric power where they intersect. It was here, at one of these intersections of Earth energy, that he was supposedly able to move his prodigious stone blocks using the unseen power of our planet. In fact, in The Enigma of Coral Castle, Ray Stoner suggests that Leedskalnin moved the Castle not because it was threatened by an encroaching subdivision, but because a surveying error misplaced the site ten miles from an Earth energy vortex or focal point. In order for the structures to maximize this energy, the entire complex needed to be relocated in Homestead, where the telluric forces were focused.

Bruce Cathie, in The Energy Grid, one of the most credible books on the subject, says “the site of Coral Castle is mathematically related to the world energy grid, as are the other remarkable structures which, however, date from ancient times. Ed Leedskalnin had not moved on to the Florida site by chance. This geometric position was extremely close to one that would be ideal for setting up harmonics related to gravity and light harmonics. The fact that [he] had access to secret knowledge is much more evident in the relationship of Coral Castle to the world energy grid system.”

Stoner says some fundamental conditions must be met before a structure like Coral Castle can be made to function as intended. It must be exactly situated over an energy vortex, aligned with a celestial event or events sufficiently precise to predict their recurrence, constructed in a specific shape, and built with certain materials. Finally, activities at the site may be successfully undertaken only at the moment the celestial events to which it is oriented take place.

Stoner’s prerequisites for particular shapes and building materials are reminiscent of experiments in pyramid power in the mid-1970s, when the precise angles (variants of 15.2 degrees) of the pyramid and its special construction elements (crystalline granite and non-conducting limestone) determined their success. In Using Pyramid Power, James Wyckoff writes,”The ancient Egyptians knew that the shape and angle of pyramids contained a mystical energy force.”

I think this “lot,” upon which Edward Leedskalnin built his wonders, is a sort of “Grid Point Nest” . . . with many ‘Matrix-valid’ Grid Points in relatively-close proximity. This might have something to do with Leedskalnin’s mysterious ability to lift and to precisely place those gigantic stones on the property.

Also; I found in doing the calculations above, that I initially figured the latitude as VERY close to 1/16th of an inch (on the USGS Topo map) below the ‘predicted 1983 NAD’ latitude parallel of 25 deg 30 min 00 sec, which is in fact the precise northern border of this Quad. This initial latitude figure, in terms of seconds, showed on my calculator as 1.234567901 seconds south of the 1983 NAD parallel of 25 30 00. Notice that the figure of 1.234567901 is the Square of 1.111111111 . . . to nine decimal places.

[Note also, here, that I am using a 'scale' of 0.050625 map inches per second of latitude]. The figure 1.234567901 precisely matches my calculated Grid Point Value for Dr. Bruce Cornet’s “Cydonia Face II” on the “Middletown” (New York) USGS 7.5-minute Topographical Quadrangle.

The calculated figure above for the number of W.Giza longitude seconds . . . 41.23807207 . . . is VERY close to a decimal harmonic of the Surface Area On A Sphere (formula) . . . 41.25296125.

I’m thinking that the more “nodal points of resonance” one can find, within relative proximity (of space and time), then the more that can be potentially “done” in that ‘area’ with respect to “tapping or using” that geometry. These “nodal points” would be, for example, decimal harmonics of ‘Matrix-valid’ numbers, including gematrian and gematria-related numbers. Possibly, this would ‘enable’ such things as lifting tremendous weights, or other seemingly “superhuman” feats.

Belief seems to be the key.

People do extra-ordinary things when their brain is motivated.

May I recommend a hero of mine. Derren Brown.

He does not claim any supernatural abilities and yet he borders on that most would call "Witch"

Most do not have access to his teachings so here is a way to do so.

tv.proxy.co.uk

Go to this link and sign up for one month for a few dollars then click on chennel4OD

Via a Proxy server you will then have access to a wealth of Derren Brown magical episodes(search in the Box) and a great deal of other cool stuff from the U.K.

A very interesting post...which brings another question to mind...
Along with the Coral Castle, the temple mention earlier, the Pyramids of Egypt...how did those structures get built? I'm sure that there has to be logical answers - like the weights and pulleys - but it would be interesting to have someone or a team of 'experts' show us precisely how they were built - once and for all! And - if for some reason, reasonable explanations can't be found, then we'd have to look at 'alternative' theories...which we are now doing, to a point.

Hopefully this will post ok. This is how one man moved and raised large blocks of stone. He tried to avoid levers and pulleys. I think the other man might have used the other and maybe some of what this man thought out. If there was more than one man, one could move the stones I would think very quickly. This is the video I mentioned prior.
