They say if you die in your dream you also die in real life. I experienced dying in my dream a few days ago.

Here's what happened:

In my dream, I was shot by a group of gangsters. I felt hot bullets pass through my body, fell down, and lost consciousness. I woke up moments later and began walking home. I passed by some friends and called out to them but they did not notice me. When I reached my home I talked to my family and nobody noticed me. It was then I remembered what happened and realized that I'm dead. I thought of ways to communicate with them by trying to move objects or using the computer. I was successful in moving objects but it scared them. Then I used the computer but for some reason I finish what I type. And then I woke up.

Any thoughts on this?

It is very strange that you felt heat in this dream. Dreams take place in our sub conscious mind not our conscious mind, thus tactile sensation is not something that is possible!!
You may some times wake up and feel pain but that is because your now awake and the body is reacting to the dream but the pain is not from the dream it is a result of the dream... a side affect. You will never dream of being stabed and wake up bleeding.
There are times where you may smell smells in a dream but that is not an actual smell it is a memory of what you smelled once which your mind is interpreting from an actual memory and mixing the two. The presence of sensation is often the sign of a memory and some believe even past life regression coming to the surface. Since this was about your own death it clearly was not a memory from this life and the use of a computer makes a past life memory improbable.

I'm not really sure what it is you just experienced.

It really troubles me coz what I felt seems real. I felt the bullet penetrate my body. And I dont think it had to do with my past life coz my wake was at our old house and the computer I used was our old computer.

I had a quite an extraordinary dream a few months ago which I cant forget. It was about an artificial grotto of the Virgin Mary which was in some real cave. Someone was hosing water on a rock formation below the Virgin which flowed down to the pond. Without thinking, I touched the water and felt some kind of energy on my fingers and the moment I felt the energy, I woke up. Upon waking up I felt the surge of energy pass though my finger all the way though my body which sent a kind of shock to my head. I still dont know what that was but it was the strangest dream I had.

And here you are,alive.
I have had that type of dream once, but Im here typing. It will be interesting for you to discern what your sub mind is telling you.

As for the heat..my guess is that your body was heating up,as our bodies can do while sleeping .Our temps can drop too and we will dream we are freezing. There is more than one reason that you could dream about this..one being hormones and another being a low grade fever.Even being to hot under the covers can trigger a dream around it, where you "feel" it in your dream...

Thanks for that luna. Still it doesnt explain the me being a spirit part.

I think I agree with this part:

To dream of your own death, indicates a transitional phase in your life. You are becoming more enlightened or spiritual. Alternatively, you are trying desperately to escape the demands of your daily life. To dream that you die in your dream, symbolizes inner changes, transformation, self-discovery and positive development that is happening within you or in your life. Although such a dreams may bring about feelings of fear and anxiety, it is no cause for alarm and is often considered a positive symbol.

I think I became more mature after having that dream.

That doesnt surprise me,they can often manifest like that..maybe you had a pain or cramp during your sleep and that is how it manifested in your dream.

But if you would link to read, and are looking at other avenues, try this...

Hmm well you are certainly not alone in dreaming of your own death. My father had told me when I was younger that whilst you dream your soul wanders the earth reliving moments of your past and some of your future and also engaging with other souls. I doona know if it is true yet that is how ihe explained it.

My mother on the other hand always said if ye dream of your own death or the death of another it brings you longevity.

So I believe your question may never be truly answered for in different religions and cultures they all mean differently.

Youre welcome.:)

Im not sure if we really can explain everything in our dreams. The mind is pretty ambigous, and whos to say what means what to who.

Like once I dreampt of holding a membrane which looked like a football .I somehow "knew" this thing was full of worms.I knew that if I squeezed it, thoseworms would come out.So it took everything in my power not to squeeze it.And I just stood there holding it trying not to squeeze.I was standing over my moms hospital bed.Looking at her, then at the membrane. It bothered me so much, that I told everyone the next day and of course,we all had a good laugh.

A very short time later,my mom had to go into surgery and when the dr. came out he said he had never seen anything like it in his 30 years of surgery.Radiation therapy had burned my mothers intestines to the point where they had perforated.Somehow,a membrane had grown( very quickly) over the perforation and was preventing waste from flooding through her system.

He said it looked like a football.
Everyone of us in the room just sat there for a munite looking at one another and them giving me odd looks. We were a little shocked,to say the least.

My point in telling you this is sometimes,we just dont know about dreams.Whether they are pure symbolism our mind makes up or if somehow, they tell us what might happen to us.I think its a little bit of both.

I think just about everyone has had one of those odd realization moments about dreams. I don't think we'll ever fully comprehend all the human mind can register or sense.

When I was a kid I used to have the same dream over and over and over. That I was running through a forest wearing nothing but a white tee shirt and being chased by some guy wearing glasses. He would catch me and hit me over the head with a rock.

I would sleep walk too. One time I actually got out of our apartmentt. A cop car picked me up and I woke up in a hospital bed. Nice huh? I was about seven I think.

Anyway. We ended moving out of state and the dream stopped. Didn't have it for years. Then I moved back, not to the same town but about sixty miles away from it. Though I was a teenager, the dreams came back. Only the I wasnt dreaming of myself as a teen but as a kid again.

Still do once in awhile and it never changes.

Creeps me out. My best friend has been trying to find anything close that might match it because she's convinced it means something.

We have yet to find anything close though.

I think anything can happen in your dreams and possibly your dream is trying to tell you what might happen in the future and if so then you should probably watch out and see what happens

I'm older, so I've had a chance to encounter many different dream scenario's. I can honestly say that I have never died in my dreams, ever...I believe that if you die in your dreams, you die in your human life. Its like falling, if you hit the bottom, you're dead. Simple. Where is the boundary between awake and asleep??? Your mind is still doing a zillion things at one time and you can't controll it, nomatter how "good" you think you are. Example, you ave a cut on your arm. Do you will it to heal, or does it just heal by itself???

I don't necessarily think its possible to die in a dream and have that be the cause of you dying in real life.

I've had plenty of dreams where I die and/or killed and yet I'm still kicking.

In fact the only time I've heard of it happening is in Freddy Kruger movies.

Here are a couple of links for you. They are quite informative..

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/13/dreams-about-death_n_891555.html

http://psych.ucsc.edu/dreams/FAQ/index.html

Also,I have been looking around a bit on this and essentially they are all saying the same thing. Heres is what murder in a dream means according to this site..
http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/m3.htm

Murder

To dream that you have committed a murder, indicates that you are putting an end to an old habit and a former way of thinking. This could also refer to an end to an addiction. Alternatively, the dream indicates that you have some repressed aggression or rage at yourself or at someone. Note also that dreams of murder occur frequently during periods of depression.

To dream that you witness a murder, indicates deep-seated anger towards somebody. Consider how the victim represents aspects of yourself that you want to destroy or eliminate.

To dream that you are murdered, suggests that some important and significant relationship has been severed. You are trying to disconnect yourself from your emotions. The dream may also be about your unused talents.

I have had a similar experience and actually died in my dream. I was with my family and ended up having a head on collision with a bus. The bus and the car we were in, exploded. I felt the heat from the blast, as well as, my skin falling off of my body. I remember screaming and no longer feeling pain. Everything then went black and a calm feeling overcame me. I felt myself leave my burned body. So, I dont know how true it is...meaning, "if you die in your sleep, you die in real life"

I have come close to dying in several of my dreams, only I know when it's coming and will wake myself up before I die. Coming from someone who has many many nightmares, the ability to wake up on command is a useful tool.

I have only had 2 dreams where I have actually died in them. One was about a school shooting (which was a very possible threat at the time, since I helped turn in an old friend because of her hitlist of students) anyway, my best friend at the time was shot and killed in the dream, and somehow after I apprehended the shooter, I looked down at my lifeless friend and then grabbed the gun and shot myself in the head. After that everything went black and then became this swirly fog that then changed into a bright golden light. It was then that I saw myself as a child of about 7 years old. I was maybe 16 or 17 at the time of this dream, so it was a weird sight.

The second time that I died in a dream, I was drowning. I don't know how but I got trapped in a pool cover. After choking and struggling in my dream, my body gave up. When I awoke, I was barely breathing and had a weak pulse.

It is not unusual for some people to be able to use their senses while dreaming. I know that I've felt, smelled, tasted, things in my dreams as well as the usual sight and sound.

Do you get the Deja vu dreams at all? Does anyone else get those? Those are really neat, when you see something in real life and then you all of a sudden know that you've seen it before.

In the dream where you were shot by gangsters and felt the bullets go through you , it sounds like it was important for you to feel that your body had taken the hits and was dead . Only when you had realisation that your body was dead could you become truly aware of your spirit and it's existence beyond the physical . Then your spirit began to experiment with a mock physical (dream) reality to effect some kind of recognition from others of your spiritual state . This is great ! You've begun to be aware of yourself as a spirit , in effect to release yourself from the confines of a physical mentality. There's so much to expand on , keep a dream diary and analyse the deeper meaning for these more spiritual dreams . Ultimately you can expand your awareness to interact with reality via the astral and leave the realms of dream behind , it's all about freeing your spirit . I think your other dream where you touch the water coming from the Virgin Mary cave and feel a rush of energy could be symbolic of the energy that can be drawn by connecting with higher / purer spiritual vibrations .

done that twice... quite thrilling.

as an aside tho... if the minds more powerful than we can imagine {{I believe it is}} then, it might be, theoretically possible, for someone's death in a dream to influence realtime...

It's quite funny at the start of your post how you said that "You were shot by a group of gangsters"
ANYWAY...

Isn't feeling the bullet the same as feeling yourself floating above your bed or even feeling as if you're falling back into bed and then you awake with a jerk?

One again google came in handy to me and I stumbled upon an article on Lucid Dreams.

Apparently astral projection as well as a lucid dream can be the reason or it can just be your emotions and creativity messing with you.

I have always been told that you are every character within your dream.

That would make you the gangsters, and yourself.

And theoretically, the very same bullets that passed through you.

If you analyzed your dream under those criteria. You, as a gang, a larger group of lethal potential..shot yourself.

So in essence, you may be feeling as though some action you have taken; perhaps one that you regret (or were helpless to stop, not necessarily regretted) has created a massive new beginning/ending for yourself in a major facet of your life. Death is usually associated with major change, and I would not hesitate to believe it is highly likely your mind was processing such a change.

The heat you were experiencing could have been due to an outside force that entered into your subconcious mind while you were sleeping, or could have been a psychosomatic symptom associated with the lucidity of your dream.

There may even be more explanations for it. It might do you well to keep a record of your dreams and the things that really stick out about them to you.

I would not entirely rule out "past life memory." Only I would put it into a different context. "past" would not exactly be accurate. Instead, I would call it something more like "while in another state of being."

Hope something I said helped you.

Though I can't remember them too clearly, I've also had dreams in which I've died.

This January just gone I was having a hard time with my bi-polar and got put on a drug called Citalopram; known to cause very vivid dreams.
During the month or so I was on it, I had some horrendous dreams about some of the most bizzare things.

They were really "real", and the thing that got me was that even though you can be dreaming about something you would understand perfectly if you were awake, whilst you are dreaming you comprehend things in a very different way.
It's odd how something as harmless as a cup or a piece of raw meat can terrify you in a dream.

Anyway, I know that was a bit off-topic, so here goes a related response to your original post lol;

Every time I've died in a dream, the viewpoint has immediately switched away from myself.
Or, I've been watching from someone else's viewpoint the whole way through and seen myself die from an external point of view. Like a narrator, of sorts.

People who jump off of buildings often die before they hit the ground; perhaps this is a similar phenomena brought about by the brain's inability to comprehend its own non-existence.
Those who jump off buildings, their brain just shuts off because it knows it's about to die.
I suppose that with dreams that's why most people wake up in the second before death in the dream actually occurs.

Lol, forgot a bunch of stuff I wanted to bring up, so sorry for the double post!

Fever dreams - whilst on that medication it was like I was in a really strange version of reality. The line between reality and dreams disappeared completely and I just sort of drifted from one to the other.
Everything was very vivid but I was sleeping for over 18 hours a day, so obviously a lot of the stuff I was experiencing was actually in my head.

Can't remember what that had to do with your post but I guess it was part of the background to my last post.

Afterlife - this is an interesting part.
Do you believe in an afterlife?

The fact that you transcended into some sort of afterlife in your dream would suggest that this dream isn't really about dying.
To me, at least, it would seem that the only scenario where death in a dream would actually kill you irl is where there is literally NOTHING after you die.

I think the definition of death is simply "non-existence".
Therefore all that happened in your dream was that you experienced a physical death, but not a phychological, complete and utter ending of everything type death.

If that makes sense to anyone else but me...

Uhh..

Yeah. Sorry if it doesn't. >__>;;

Dreaming of your own death doesn't usualy translate into a literal death but more so a symbolic or metaphorical one.

Perhaps there is a personality trait, or a part of your being that your subconcsious is telling you to 'put to rest'. You're growing as n individual and thus no longer need this part of you.

In the end however, each dreamer can experience the same situation, but still have it mean something unique to each dreamer. Perhaps you need to take some time for yourself to think about the feelings, emotions and thoughts you had before, during and after the dream.

This topic was soo much on my mind, last night I had a similar dream....

I was by my sister-in-law and I saw this guy aim a gun directly into the house however a lot of my family was right there lounging and just watching television then all of a sudden a group of people with machine guns broke in and just came directly into the house and behind the chair where I was (I was croched down behind the sofa to protect myself from the bullets) and then one member of the group just started shooting me in my head. O_O

I was like... Whhhhhaaaaaat!? When I woke up.

I was told that when you die in your dream it's good but I really don't understand how scaring the crud out of myself is a good thing.

Where did you hear that it was a good thing to die in your dream? Lol.

I think it's probably fairly neutral; even though it scares your conscious mind, to your subconscious it's probably just trying to let you know something; and yes it most likely is that either a part of you is currently changing, or there is a part of you that needs to change.

Maybe it's something unresolved?
Often we avoid resolving things fully because it can be uncomfortable to do so - but the things you leave unsaid and unfinished subtly drain attention and energy from you, though you don't realise it.

It could be anything. Someone you need to forgive, apologies you need to make, people or events that you need to come to terms with and let go. Worries you haven't addressed or talked through, appreciations you feel you need to give/receive.

Anything like that going on?

My death...
I saw a dream, well, it felted like a real nightmare. But at first only. I can't recall what I died from, was it cancer, stabbed to heart, or what it was at that time. I've seen a lot of dreams about me dying, in many ways but never has the dream last for so long that I actually have died. I have the fear of death, so usually I get myself awake before I die in a dream. But this time I did die. So, I was dying and as all the people who have the fear of death can believe it felt horrible, the life would be soon over, everything ends. My saviour was though the fact that after I did die I still was able to see the people around me, I was turned to a ghost. And if I concentrated hard and long enough, the people around me were able to see me for a short time. It was a happy ending on the other hand, cause I still could be with my loves ones. Nothing ended for good. So when I really die, I wish I could be a ghost from the death on. :)

In my dreams, everytime I seem about to suffer a serious injury, I wake up filling nothing.

I never find out if I died or got hurt, but its happened since I was a small child in the more violent dreams. And nothing ever seems different in either awake or dream state, even if I have the same dream again.

Levity - Older folks have told me that dying in your dream is something good. I never understood why though.

I do in fact believe that it's trying to tell me that the violent part of myself needs to change and that I should be more calm and relaxed.

I realize that this is an older post, but I think I may know what your subconscious was telling you. At least, it is possible. I am going to state several theories, all of which have happened to me at one point in my life.

I have had a dream in which I was killed, and my loved ones were oblivious to my existence afterwards. I realized that it was telling me something that I didn't realize I was feeling.

This dream was my subconscious warning me of a bout of depression that was building. I was starting to feel...ignored. Not only was I not feeling that anyone cared that I was around, but that my feelings weren't being heard. I was alone in the spirit world in my dream, just as I was feeling alone in the physical world.

Another dream I've had was that I was being hunted. I wasn't being hunted by a supernatural being, but my own boyfriend. We had only been dating for a couple of weeks, so this had frightened me.

Again, it was a warning from my subconscious. Jealousy and rage can force people into being a deranged version of love. This person in particular possessed a jealous bone the size of the Grand Canyon. I didn't realize until some time after the dream that this man was very dangerous. He followed me to work, stopped in all of the time. At first, I thought it was adorable, but then...it became a very ugly thing. I couldn't even hug people whom I had known for the majority of my life when in public. It was like he had spies everywhere, or he was doing the spying. I would get phone calls at all hours of the night asking me who I had talked to that day, and why I wouldn't tell him. It was his paranoia that caused me to finally kick him to the curb. A short time later, he was arrested for killing his father and step-mother. He was under the influence of LSD, and now serving 2 consecutive life sentences.

Another dream I had was very lucid. I was walking with a very good friend of mine at the college we both were anticipating on attending. We were walking to his car, because he was very excited about something, and wanted to show me. As we were crossing the street, a car had run a red light. My friend seen this, and pulled me back, where I had fallen on the curb wrong, and broke my leg. As I was falling, I heard tired squealing, people screaming, and broken glass. He was hit by the car that had run the red light.

I was very freaked out about this dream. This person was a very dear friend to me. But dreams like this kept occurring with his death coming at different ways, but he was always saving me. The first dream was the most popular. Eventually, I told his mother of these things. She said that I was just afraid of him finding new friends, and leaving me without him. So, I let it go just as that.

The week of Thanksgiving that year, my mother kept me busy with cleaning, shopping, and cooking. I didn't even have time to read the paper, which was something I did daily. The night of Thanksgiving, there was a knock on my door, with about 10-15 people standing on the other side. They had asked me if I had heard about our friend. The only thing that I had recently heard about him, was that he had finally come out of the closet. They then told me about the accident. It happened the same way as my initial dream, only... it wasn't me he saved. It was girl that looked astonishingly like me. Which is why he became friends with her in the first place.

Four days before Thanksgiving, he was hit by the same dirty blue in my dream. He was in a coma for three days, with little to no oxygen flowing in his brain. His family decided to turn off the life-support.

I later found out that the dream is known as prophetic. I've had many since then, but none like this.

I have died in a dream before. My sister and I were power rangers and wearing those suit things and she stabbed all the way through my chest with a sword. I swear to you I really felt it. It's like I felt how bad it hurt. But I'm obviously still alive.... Lol but dying is not something I'd like to do again. Even in just a dream. It was scary. I felt it... It was weird.

Ever since I had that dream I get scared when I see a gun. Lol. I guess it meant that a part of me needs to change. I had that dream when my family migrated to NY and I am left here with my Aunt and cousins. (I am from the Philippines btw) I am now left with responsibilities that I didn't want but I really need to do. Maybe it meant that I need to be more mature and responsible.

Very interesting, i have had similar instances happen but i always tend to wake up the minute im killed in a dream, for instance i once fell off a railroad track that seemed to be in mid air, into the water below, and i woke up drenched in sweat. Ive only gotten to hover over my body once and that was quite an experience in itself. I would definitely say its possible have you had more than one of these dreams?

Many people have similar dreams about death. Whether it be falling off a cliff, getting axed in the head, or just plain being attacked by whatever and however. The mind can trick the body to feeling sensations all the time through visualizations. You are being so convinced it's happening that it appears to BE real, so much even that some people HAVE woken to marks on their own bodies.
It is much like a healer at work with someone who has a serious issue and then all of a sudden is "disappears".
Well in this case, it's like a reverse effect through the mind.
If one is psychic, or sensitive, the effects through the mind can be quite intense, so much that whatever energies we are picking up on, can effect ourselves.

I am not saying this is the best source of information here but what you believe is your choice here, but I was watching a program called Celebrity Ghost Stories. There's an actor that plays in the movie "Shutter". Some of you may have seen it too, but he spoke of reading some magazines of ghosts captured in images, and trying to go to sleep. He sleeps dreaming about being in battle, and this guy points an arrow towards him and fires it, right into his chest. He feels the arrow going into his chest and this causes him to wake. He sees a foggy entity right in front of his face. He can't move, he's paralyzed, and when he could get hold of his body, he goes to a mirror and sees a mark on his chest where the arrow was fired and felt.

Was this his past life or anothers?

Sounds very similiar ;)

I actually have experiance with this as well.

a few of my dreams were:

the first one i was chasing something through a plane and I was feeling rumbling beneath my feet. I paid it no notice as I continue to chase whatever it was through the field. I eventually saw a volcanic explosion and felt myself get struck by lava. i felt my body melt and i died. the weird part is i was still conscious and I couldn't move at all. I never felt the pain but I knew I was dead then I woke up.

I think when someone dies in their dreams it means a change is about to happen or perhaps they feel overwhelmed with life and that is how subconsciously their brain deals with it

It depends what you consider to be a good or bad change but more importantly I think you would have to look back at the theme of the dream when the person died to what kind of changes are most likely to occur, dreams have a lot of symbolism but sometimes things are what they are without any hidden meanings,it's a tricky topic in general I feel

That's part of the reason I don't buy dream books. There are alot of different interpretations for the same things, and in the end you may never figure it out. So the whole dream interpretation is kind of disillusioned to me.

I often have dreams of falling and then I wake up with a jolt when I impact on the ground, or car accidents, where again i wake up on impact.
However i once had a dream that I died. When i hit the bottom of the cliff i died and didnt wake up with a jolt. I saw my lifeless body like I was hovering over it and then suddenly I was trying to make a phone call but the numbers kept changing places on the key pad.
I talked to my doctor about it because I suffer from an unusual disorder called Sleep paralysis....My doctor asked if I was stressed about anything and it turned out that i was. We worked on resolving that and my doctor said that my feeling of lack of control over a certain situation was what was causing the dreams.
And as for the sleep paralysis, your body is asleep and your mind is half awake, so you can dream with your eyes open and be aware of your surroundings. Unfortunatley, you cant move or make a sound because the part of your brain that controls your movement is asleep.
I dreamt of aliens once while i was having an episode, a doctor in japan that specializes in sleep paralysis believes that this disorder is actually the cause of people believing that they got abducted by aliens.....
Anyway, my point is, i have died in a dream and Im still alive, dreams are, for the most part, a reflection of your subconscience.

I didn't read everything posted on here, so if I write something that's already been said, please forgive me.

We talked about this in my Psych class the a couple weeks ago. Basically what my professor stated was that even if people dreamt of dying before actually dying, we wouldn't be able to know.

Lots of people dream of dying but since they are alive, they are able to tell us that they dreamt it. Some people dream of ALMOST dying, then wake up and freak out.

Now what I asked him was this, "What if the people that dream of ALMOST dying are the ones that are afraid of dying, and the ones that dream of completely dying are the ones that aren't afraid?"

But of course, him being the butthead, he wouldn't tell me because it was something I had to find out myself or whatever.

So are YOU afraid of dying?

And by the way, not all dreams have some profound meaning. Most of them are completely random and have nothing to do with you.

Or maybe it's some. I forgot. Bahh, I need to look up Freud's laws//theories//whatever again.
Anywho, don't worry. And even if you do die in your sleep, at least you die peacefully.
[I think I'd rather die in my sleep than anything else, it's the time where we are happiest I guess]

it's been said before, and it's worth saying again: you don't die for real if you die in your dream, and if you do, it's probably because something killed you in your sleep.
From one set of dirty hands to another, dying in your dreams is usually a sign of guilt.

Dying in dream would be viewed in reverse in real life. It's like an inversion. So it would bring about a new event in your life. Feeling anything, like a warm sensation in dreams is almost impossible. Perhaps you were halfway between 2 worlds: the sleep world and the awake one.

I've died in my dream before and became a ghost. When you feel things like that though, such as the heat. This is called lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming is different than normal dreaming because you tend to actually feel a more sense of reality. This kinda dreaming is also a spring board into astral projection. Lucid dreams tend to be more intense as you can feel things as if you were awake. Be careful where you travel if you do end up astral projecting. Normal dreaming is in the subconscious but when we get far enough into it while dreaming..sometimes we just naturally project out. I believe I have done this several times.

Death in dreams is merely symbolism, it all depends on the circumstances of the dream though, sometimes you may have to combine different meanings with others to get the correct meaning for you. I typically use a site called dreammoods.com. They have most the stuff I experience on there, maybe you should check it out just to see if any of it fits you.

Always remember any type of dream is personal. If you had a similar dream to another person it doesn't always mean the same thing, it just depends on what happened in the dream it's self. Dreams are a way for us to understand what is truly bothering us in our waking lives.

When I dream of death it is time to reduce your stock market holdings, good news, I see nothing at present.

I have concerns about katyla the volcano...last time I travelled its sister blew....
Quiet for now... but it all depends on the future...

In one scenario I see nothing, in another I see massive disruption. It all depends upon Xmas....it is like Schrodinger's cat, I see two possible out-comss.

I give it 30% but watch Xmas.

I usually don't remember my dreams at all, so when I do I pay attention to them. Here are two I'll share.

The first I'll tell was very similar to yours. I was being held on my knees by two men while a third stood in front of me and shot me point blank into the head. Except I wasn't me. I was in the body of someone else, experiencing it with them. I remember it feeling like time slowed, and I felt the searing pain of the bullet penetrate my forehead and felt it burst out the back. Then it was like feeling everything shutting down and we (me and the person who's body I was in) began falling to the ground as everything started going dark and numb and cold. And then I felt like I slammed into my body and I woke up in a sweat and I remember the intense feeling that if I had stayed in the dream, in his body with him, I would have died with him.

I never really figured out what that one meant.

I was 15 when this next one happened. It was summer. I dreamt I was at a back staircase at my school crying and telling a friend that my brother had died. This dream shook me and I told several people, including my parents about it. Two weeks later, my brother died.

That one I believe was a premonition. The first one, I'm not sure what. I think dreams can be an avenue for all sorts of things to happen. The information out there about dreams (not dream interpretation) and what might be causing them, is really interesting. I would suggest just going on a search and see where it takes you.

~Darken
