To many of us that word may mean something different.
Yet, it can have a personal connotation within our lives and experience...
for example, as a loner; I like company.
I wonder how others might see the word and how it reflects their experience.
Not sure if this is what you are asking or not. In a way my life is a parodox. The way we are and who we are is a direct result of the experiences that we have encountered. For example if anyone knows my story or knows me I like everyone have a darkside within me.I get upset at times but I am not filled with hate nor do I allow myself to be because it would consume me. I consider myself a loner and prefer to work and do things alone but yet becuase of my experiences I seek approval and want friends. I think a way we are all a paradox.
..for me, for being an Inventory Control Analyst, mean a name of a software used on my last company. But, can mean many different things. Is one of those word that is used to contradict the listener.
I believe what you are talking about is opposites attracting to each other. This is not the same as a paradox.
A paradox is something that can only happen when something that is not possible effects it and causes a change... aka you travel back in time and kill your grandfather making your birth impossible. If you can not be born then how do you travel back to kill your grandfather.
That's a paradox.
Like in Futurama where Fry is his own grandfather because he went back in time and slept with his grandmother.
lolol
that is a paradox yes. The ultimate example of such, yet I cited another...
there are many types of paradox, in our day-to-day lives, hence the question.
i live with my dad and it seams like i'm the parent i have to pay bills
cook, take care of him when hes drunk
Parent Adult Child ~ PAC
another fine example of 'Paradox'.
Me?
I think that Life itself can be.
Think of it, we spend muc of our lives learning and encountering new experiences and then, as we're starting to understand and enjoy what we have.
And... what happens? We die...
I am a loner. I prefer only the company of other vampyres and lycans.
A act like I need the humans I parade with but am ultimatly an actress.
I really hope that fit that theme because to be honest it's not to clear to me.
as I said at the head of this, I too am a loner, yet I like good company and, actively seek it.
and, that's a dichotomy in itself, the idea of a loner seeking company, yet I do.
A Paradox...
I have droped things on the floor many times and I know exactly where I dropped item and even alloud for a certain bouncen area....and the items are never found and I been told by others plus it is my own belief that the items have fallen into another dymention ...I have found ear rings with backs still on them in my closet and my ears were not rippped or anything and me and my 26 yesr old daughters jewelry seems to materialize at oppisite houses when we havent seen each other its just spooky and wierd ........now my boyfriends take on the paradox is like if we went back in time and saved the titanic from sinking that may be one of the serviers wouild have been a wicked serial killer so it is best not to mess with such things if we could....philidelphia expeirament and the manhaten prodject are a few good exaples
to be political, a moment.
selling something off the public puts money into, at a loss, to a private concern ... and, telling the public, it's a good deal...
"whew!" off my chest.
i'm a loner to but the thing is i need the humans we all do more then we care to admit, it's a dependency i do not like
it's interesting that a commonality is that recognized Need. They''re annoying, but good to have around, at times...
So here is one for you... Creation of art for the sake of art only, or to also allow it to be sold for a profit? If the art is sold, then it will be seen and appreciated by so many more... and yet it was created from the soul of the artist. Does selling, or profiting from art cheapen the soul that was put into it?
The masters of the universe love the Paradox, it livens up their insanely dull maths....you know seros, minus one plus one...yawns.
A great example is in the film Darkmen, the joker rapes his fellow superheroe yet the daughter turns out fine and the mother stops hating him, the man she had every reason to hate.
so loved the question on Art. That was a fine Paradox itself. And yes, to Enjoy Life, while dying...
..strikes me, the anamoalie, the paradox, they make the mundane interesting.
the paradox..they pique ones interest like an automatic reflex
breath itself is an autonomic response, that many would wish to subvert.... think of the Paradox in that.
i think aparadox could be found in most things ..if we look hard enough
McDonalds sponsoring the Olympics. or is ithat just irony?
one of the symbols for Christmas.. Pere Noel, Now portrayed as a Fat old fella, dressed in a red suit, to promote Cola???
Aye. Perhaps.
This thread hasn't generated any discussion. It's mostly people listing things they see as a paradox.
So I am closing it.
