ok ive noticed a sudden increase of younge people here like 12 - 16 and this post is not tword you of this age demagraphic who act mature... but ive noticed that alot of thes younger kids have been really arrogant and vary imature in posts and just in general.. and i was honestly thinking if we should have age restrictions or something

Lex, I understand where you're comming from. However, the point of this website is not the forums posts and conversations that happen. It was actually quite the accident that it turned into a "profile/forum" site.

The point is for this site is to be informational.

No age restrictions would be needed if people would stop discussing inappropriate and pointless topics in the forums. If you wouldn't want your ten year old to read it, then don't post it.

But by the same token, one has the freedom of speach.

I'd recommend that we have an entire section unaccessable to minors on this site, but then there is the problem of making sure that the people accessing that section of the site are actually adults.
But thats just me...

I am not aware of any Internet technology that blocks users of a certain age. If a parent isn't doing their job, there is little I can do.....

plus the fact that it is the internet and they can just lie.

Its not the age thats the problem, i for one know that age doesnt mean maturity, im 22 and i still act like im 12 half the time, just ask melody or requiem.

I often find myself talking to very young people (below 16) who are so depressed and suicidal etc, i think it is very sad that this age group have to suffer such adult issues. i know that compared to them my childhood was innocent (it wasnt really but i never had to think in adult terms about things, they just happened above my head as it were). But i wish that these kids who clearly cannot handle adult ideas and sites would stay away rather than trying to impress everyone with their worldliness (is that a word lol). I am only 22 but i have been mistaken as 30 ish in conversation since i was 16, and am both sad and happy that i have been able to mix with older people. (not that i am not a child sometimes, espec when you give me bubble mix lol). but there are a lot of kids who are...KIDS and dont belong in a community like this. After all, this is not vampire day care is it?
