this is another thing off the matrix and it makes sense

are humans really mamals or are they a virus (a plauge so to speak)

because they do act as a virus does, they move to an area and consume every last resource till that area is depleated in the process they also multiply (reproduce), then they more onto another area and do the same, before long this world will have no natural resources left.

i think its an interesting thought

i believe we are more like an intelligent virus.

we are consuming every natural resource, but we will realise this and make our own resources or make resources more available in time.

we are a big problem for the planet as a whole, but it'll be tough to stop if we don't realise it.

i think of the human race as more of a parasite. it sucks all thing that are good with thinking for its surrounding until its too late

We are mammals who no longer have predators to keep our population size in check - a result of this is our becoming a parasitic scourge on the land. Another result is that the law of the survival of the fittest no longer counts. As a result, we may one day devolve into viruses as our genetic material becomes diluted.

Your right we do use up the resources quickly, and than move somewhere else and reproduce. So I think we are a very complex virus if anything.

I've heard the theory of the living planet...

which basicly views the planet as living. we humans are basically destroying the planet. BUT when we do, we won't be the end of all life on earth. other beings will evolve and such. so the planet would go through another phase of life. maybe another dominant being like the human would evolve and then destory the planet again. so the planet would go through another phase of change.

There are many theories about where we actually came from. I remember wriath's interesting thread about 2 months ago, where Cancer left all that information about how tall humans used to be etc. I dont know where we came from, and many people have alien-like theories, but from my personal view I'd say that the 'virus' idea is more showing humans inability to understand the true concept of extreme evolution, and using sentimental symbolism to understand why we need control over evrything, and why we destroy.

if u think bout it though the planet is alive and we are but very small beings on that planet so in a sense we are living on a host body the planet, we need it to live, without trees we wud sufficate cause of no oxygen, it wud be an atmosphere filled with carbon dioxide.

I agree with the parasite posting....but really, again, we won't know until we pass from this plane of existance, and then we will know for sure. Until then, it's mere speculation, ego and maybe even fear based ideas on where we came from and where we are going. Humans have died out and came back several times, in the millions of years the planet has been around. It is sad that we have to consume so much to maintain our own life. I guess if we must, at least we can give thanks daily to mother earth and her gifts. One day she will shake us off like fleas. *smirk*.........again. And back to the primordial sludge we go! :P Either that, or Scotty, beam us back up, please. *wink*

we are mamals with the intentions of a virus, we are dispicable, our true intentions on this earth i believe is to be the gaurdians of this planet and/or galaxy, a task we have traveled far from. i think that is the reason for our high intellegence.
