Romanian State Police 2004
Knight Ridder Foreign Service
Ahhh good old Romania Police protecting us vampires even in modern day.
So what other news stories of vampires and such have you seen recently?
but their jurisdiction is only in Romania.....
We Vampires are still safe everywhere else.
Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!!!!
Hawk the police are actually prosecuting people for vampire hunting their!
Sorry I don't write so well
Here is another news story this one from india
Vampiric Monkeys attack at Menstruating goddess's Temple
At the yoni–peetha temple of the goddess Sati where for three days a year the pool said to contain the Goddess Sati's uterus turns to blood a new event has occurred.
Vampiric monkeys have started attacking children.
A Priest reported to the Associated Press "They hide in trees and swoop on unsuspecting children loitering about in the temple premises or walking by, clawing them and even sucking a bit of blood".
Has anyone else heard of this and has there been any results to the tests performed on these three monkeys?
and these have actually hit newspapers across the usa.....
Cut off the heads set it at the feet and stick a clove of garlic in the mouth of the suspect
why not just set popy seeds on the grave it's not as violent
Can't say I have heard either story. But to me they are just people looking for answers that they are never going to find.
ive never heard of those either but they are hilarious to me!
Romania is insane! Their gymnasts didn't wear any grips on the uneven bars! ouch!
like Hawk said we're safe everywhere else...
Kingy:
Knight Ridder Foreign Service and Associated Press.....
See we just have Jerry Springer here in the states..LOL
Comedian George Carlin said it best
"when you're born, you get a ticket to the freak show. If your born in america, you get a front row seat"
But I'm starting to feel that Romania is not far behind.
Well these weren't springer topics when they were published. Both are or were quite serious when printed....
You post about the most interesting subjects....Good for you.....
"Vampiric monkeys have started attacking children"? I think I'm sane after all....
BTW you can do a web search on these and pull them up although the AP if I remember correctly is a pay service.
Also if you have actual news stories on vampires that you have drudged up like I did on these please share them....
http://www.billingsgazette.com/index.php?ts=1&display=rednews/2004/03/31/build/world/50-vampire-probe.inc
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory?id=219742
There are but two places versions of these stories have been printed....
Each paper seems to have their own spin.
Seatle Times had the best but its been removed.....
'Vampiric monkeys'
Brilliant. Is there nothing they cannot do
I love the way other countries actually print these types of articles.. these are things that we as americans would fail to bring to light for fear of ridicule... I think its awesome the things you find to read seriously about in other countries, that we laugh off as nonsense here.
Oh wait ,we do have the national enquirer...does that count?
Well, THOSE articles just bought me a few more sessions on the couch!
*enjoys usual breakfast of anti-psychotics, mood stablizers, anti-depressants, andti-anxiety pills, and the little-round-colorful-ones-that-nobody-knows-exactly-what-they-do............and a glass of vodka!*
I don't see where these stories are all that great news events. People in Romania still staking the freshly dead to keep them from turning into vampires.....this just shows how backward and ignorant these villagers are.
Malawi tries to calm vampire fears
http://edition.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/africa/12/24/malawi.vampire/
Tuesday, December 24, 2002 Posted: 7:51 AM EST (1251 GMT)
BLANTYRE, Malawi (AP) -- Horrifying stories about vampires attacking
villagers in the dead of night and sucking their blood have forced Malawi's
government to wage a campaign to fight the rumours and calm the public.
The rumours, which began three weeks ago in the south of the poor African
nation, have intensified in recent days.
Last week, scared villagers beat to death a man suspected of being a vampire,
attacked and nearly lynched three visiting priests, and destroyed an aid group's
encampment they feared was the vampires' headquarters.
President Bakili Muluzi called the rumours unfounded and malicious. He accused
unnamed opposition groups of trying to undermine him by accusing his government
of giving aid agencies human blood in exchange for food aid.
"No government can go about sucking (the) blood of its own people," Muluzi said
Sunday. "That's thuggery."
The rumours were hurting efforts to pull the nation out of its severe hunger
crisis, Muluzi said, since many families were too scared to leave their villages
to tend their fields.
A series of separate statements from the police, Information Ministry, Home
Affairs Ministry and Internal Security Ministry have condemned the rumours and
top government officials have journeyed to the districts of Thyolo, Mulanje,
Chiradzul and Blantyre to try to quash the stories.
"There is no truth in this. There is no such thing as blood suckers anywhere in
Malawi," said Joseph Aironi, the police inspector general.
But the fears have continued.
Some villagers have begun fleeing to the city of Blantyre for safety.
Others sleep clutching drums so they can wake up the village if they suspect
they are about to be attacked.
A mob in the southern tea-growing district of Thyolo last week beat to death a
man accused of being a vampire, police said.
Three visiting Roman Catholic priests also were beaten in Thyolo by a mob of
angry villagers who did not recognize them and suspected them of being vampires,
police said. The priests were held overnight until a local Catholic family
identified them. They were treated for severe bruises.
In the same district, villagers destroyed tents pitched by an aid group that was
in the area to drill wells for drinking water. The villagers believed the
vampires were using the tent camp as their headquarters. No one was injured in
the attack.
The frenzy has been fed by several people's stories of being attacked by
vampires.
Edna Kachisa said the vampires drilled a hole in her mud-and-thatch house and
sprayed a suffocation gas inside. The attackers fled after she banged on a drum
and awoke the village, she said.
"Because of the smoke I inhaled I could not speak for three days and I am still
suffering from a recurrent stomach ache," she said.
Another woman outside Blantyre showed journalists a mark on her forearm she said
was where vampires inserted a needle to try to draw her blood.
vampires ahve always been and will always be a superiuor race
Because the rest of the world is just so much more civilized huh Danzig?
12 years for UK vampire slaying
http://archives.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/europe/08/02/uk.vampire/index.html
LONDON, England --A British teenager has been jailed for 12 years for murdering his elderly neighbour and drinking her blood in a vampire ritual.
Vampire-mad art student Mathew Hardman, 17, cut out Mabel Leyshon's heart after stabbing her 22 times at her home in Llanfairpwll, North Wales, last November.
He sliced the 90-year-old's chest open and cut her heart out before wrapping the blood-soaked organ in newspaper and placing it next to two pokers arranged in the shape of a crucifix at her feet, the court was told.
Hardman put the heart into a saucepan containing the pensioner's blood and drank the blood -- believing the ritual would make him immortal, the jury heard.
The teenager was obsessed by vampires and killed Leyshon in a bid to become one of the creatures, the court heard.
He denied any involvement in the murder and said his alleged fascination with vampires was no more than a "subtle interest."
After the jury at Mold Crown Court, Wales, returned its verdict, trial judge Mr Justice Richards lifted an order banning his identification.
Prosecutor Roger Thomas said Hardman committed the murder in a bid to become immortal.
"We submit that in November 2001 he was fascinated by and believed in vampires," Thomas said.
"He believed they existed, believed they drank human blood and believed most importantly that they could achieve immortality -- and he wanted to be immortal."
The murder sent shockwaves through the tourist village of Llanfairpwll PG, best known for having the longest place name in Britain. Its 56-letter full name -- Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll-llantysiliogogogoch -- is so long that locals abbreviate it.
"The injuries are the worst I have seen in my career," Detective Superintendent Alan Jones told reporters after the murder.
North Wales Police deployed a 60-strong murder team who consulted experts in witchcraft and took DNA samples from more than 100 local people.
Six weeks after Leyshon's death, officers searched Hardman's bedroom, where they found a stash of books, magazines and Internet material devoted to vampires.
Among the books was Bram Stoker's Dracula, as well as a hardback library book entitled The Devil: An Autobiography.
Vampire Web sites
Examination of Hardman's computer showed that he had logged on to Web sites including The Vampire Rights Movement and The Vampire/Donor.
The donor site reads: "The site exists to serve all who might be part of vampire community: gothic lifestyle vampires and non-lifestyle vampires alike, energy feeders, sanguinarians (drinkers of blood); donors, would-be donors, and other loved ones."
Hardman, who had turned 17 only a few weeks before the murder, had already dropped a chilling hint of what was to come during a conversation with a teenage German girl student, who was on an exchange visit to Llanfairpwll, the court was told.
He told her that he believed it was "a perfect place for vampires" because there were a lot of old people there, and if any of them died after being bitten it would be assumed that they had had a heart attack.
She said that after talking about "gothic" fashions, vampires and the paranormal he accused her of being "one of them" and begged her to bite his neck so that he too could become a vampire.
By the time he was arrested he had regularly accused locals of being vampires. Hardman had also deliberately punched himself on the nose to draw blood in a bid to "tempt" them to bite him.
Police were called and as an officer handcuffed Hardman he repeatedly yelled "bite my neck, bite my neck."
This one you all might want to pay a bit of attention to....
froot loops are everywhere. we need a big bronze pole in every city so Jerry Springer can do a show anywhere. Marilyn Manson once said "we're all guests on the Springer show....just some of us haven't been on tv yet." This last story needs to go to Geraldo. It's beyond the Jerry Springer standard.
Wow..
as for the rest of the world is more civilised..A few year ago, right here in Lisbon, a couple of guys were waiting for the bus near a church, when they had to run away from old ladies that were chacing them and throwing holy water at them, and calling them 'demons' just because the poor guys were dressed in black..How's that for civilised?.......
oh god..well yeah unfortunately..the ideas haven`t yet changed throughout these years...well here in malta the people still live in a society where most parents look badly at their children..because we like rock...we dress in black and listen to black sabbath manson etc...they make up a whole argument and think that we are all satanist...jeez.. and it still happens...being rockers..is being cheap and crappy persons... u can imagine...the words i used to hear by my family.....when i used to go out wearing goth clothes..etc...lol
Unfortunately i don`t know when the society will change and will start accepting social diversity... and indepence and freedom
Wow! I haven't heard of either of those stories, but I'm not surprised that they are coming out either.
i am in love with the idea of vampiric monkeys! omg, thats just the most devine thing ever!
I have heard some stories of the sort, but never had credible sources, this is very interesting.
I looked, but I couldn't find anything in the newspapers. But I lived there when it happened and I remember. They must have managed to keep it out of the news. But the police in RI arrested two men two years back for systematicly destroying corpses.
The men claimed that an angel had told them that vampires were coming up from the earth, and that they had to kill them all in case.
Vampiric monkeys eh? ROFLMFAO that is the funniest thing I have heard.
i have not heard of these stories ither. and i happen love Romania.
most of it was just ditsy but the london thing.. not right
I can't wait for more stories, i keep checking back to see if any more are posted.. I think it is so interesting to read these things.. it gives a different view into the happenings in different cultures, and the seriousness placed on their events.
" Romaina is a back asswards country you can't help them"
Amanda: Please enumerate the times you have been to Roumania, the number of people with whom you spoke, and just how much you have researched their chulture, language and history.
Then have a nice cup of shut the heck up because you can't list those things.
If you don't know what you are talking about, don't talk.
That story on the English teenager was quite interesting. And to clarify I was talking about the villagers in the article not the country of Romania as a whole.
This whole forum is some what amuzing but not interesting enough.
very interesting read my dear but i feel that the comments mad by the ppl there r pure bul$@h&t i think killing vampires because we do what we must is wrong
"looks at the floor and shakes my head"
LadyAmandaofNoctemAeternus...What a nice oppinion you have about Romania...
It happens that i live there....
Hmmm perhaps instead of here then a database entry....
Then you can read all the nuttiness I can find.
and to all of this all i can say is the truth is stranger then fiction...
I think that Superstition people can't see vampires and ghouls everywhere and react with the only way the know...trying to destroy them!
For all the incidents mentioned above I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation!
I haven't heard of anything recently, but that was a good article. Thank you for sharing it.
Its not easy staying safe.It is a parttimejob in its self.
well if someone gets to make vampire monkeys I get to make vampire squirrels
The first story was very intresting though!
