I think this would be a better place for discussion for those who have seen the movie. :-)
If you haven't seen the movie and don't want to know what happens, STOP READING NOW!
The gas is strong in me. I don't think my midichlorians like cold pizza.
seen it, i would really have liked to see the orignal cut. but they changed it to bet the pg-13 rating
they changed it to Pg 13??
damn... i wish all Movies were R rated...with at least 1 girl Disimbowled on the spot...
i saw it this afternoon...
story is good, specially effetc r awesome...
jedi fights... r ridiculous...
i nearly forget how good they were in episode 1(ray park is a god!)
and jedi always win a silly way...
they r close to get sliced to death and then they pull the lightsaber with the force or throw a wall on the opponent...
going to go see it tonight I have high hopes for it might just be the best instalement in the series
I think obi wan probably messes up anakin pretty bad when anakin turns on him
Indeed. Obi Wan opens a can of Jedi whoopass on him. All in all I was very pleased. Unfortunately, the "FrankenVader" scene at the end just blew the whole enchelada for me. I'm trying to forget it and take the movie as a whole, but the "Nooooooooooo!" made me nautious.
I will say that Lucas pretty much tied all loose ends up as far as the 6 movies are concerned. The plotting of Anakin's turn to the dark side was intricate and very, very well done.
Lightsaber fights: BRILLIANT The Palpatine/Yoda duel was incredibly better than the Dooku/Yoda duel. Although, it was a bit shorter.
All in all, it was a damned fine movie.
I will say this...I wouldn't take any child under 10 or 11. There are a couple of graphic scenes and some extremely dark undertones.
thank you for the warning on the kid side of things i hoping to see it this weekend
Caution: SPOILER IN THIS POST!!!!
Glad to be of service. Let's just say that the movie earned it's PG-13 rating. Alll through the movie I'm wondering..."PG-13?" Then Vader wipes out the Padawan Children. Yeah, that's pretty messed up. I think the graphic visual nature of the immolated Darth Vader is what got the PG-13 though.
Now we all know your true thoughts on spoilers, Jason. Welcome to the dark side.
not seen it seeing it tommora
wats it like?
better be good not wasting even more money on something i'll just walk out of...
I was highly impressed with this one.
Especially Anakin's progression to the Dark Side. And how they portrayed the Dark Side in general. For the most part, it wasn't villianized as much as the dark elements of most movie plots are. They make a point of elaborating on the dark side as part of the balance of life. And how closely the light and dark are entertwined, and how similiar in many aspects they can be.
And seeing Grevious whipping out 4 lightsabers just kicked ass.
This movie sucked. Sorry. I liked Attack of the Clones better.
I'm not ready to write and in depth review of why I hated it, but some highlights include:
I didn't pick it apart as meticulously as Cancer, but he brings up some good points. I intentionally watched the film with an open mind. Anything else and I'd have hated it.
Unfortunately..."FrankenVader" really did blow it for me. I couldn't let that go. It's as bad as Lucas changing the original movie so that Greedo shoots first. Unforgivable. And the fact that David Prowes is NOT in the Vader suit, this time. Unforgivable. Hayden Christiensen (or however you spell it) didn't even remotely fill out the suit. I mean, the suit totally covers th body and you just KNOW that's not REALLY Vader.
I say "Thank you, George!" for only having the armored Vader in the movie for a few minutes. Anything else would have been bad. Really bad. I just don't think I could sit through Christensonsensin trying to ACT while wearing the suit.
FrankenVader....sigh....
About the droids: I think Cancer is right about the Uncle Owen thing. As for Obi Wan claiming to never have owned droids, well, technically, he never owed R2 or CP0. And we can only speculate that he owed the R4 unit that is with him all the time.
The problem here is that Lucas tries to tie everything together too tightly. It's a big Star Wars galaxy.
Anakin is c3-p0's creator.
r2-d2 serves Padme, then Anakin, then Luke.
Boy Greedo is friends with boy Anakin.
Yoda and Chewbacca are friends.
Boba Fett is a clone of Jango who is the master copy of the entire Clone army.
Yoda is Dooku's master who is Qui-Gon's master who is Obi-Wan's master who is Anakin's master.
Everyone has to loose at least one arm/hand (except yoda... Obi-wan just gets nicked).
I'm assuming that was Wedge Antilles father as captain of Bail Organa's ship (Bail calls him captain Antilles).
It gets ridiculous after a while. Lucas pushed the limits of credibility in the original series... Vader as Luke's father and Luke/Leia as siblings.
I think he was just playing dumb. Sort of like the way he lied to Luke about Vader. Allegedly, and I don't really believe this, there is a point in the original film where Obi Wan sort of gives a nod of recognition to R2, or something like that. I've not seen it in the film. Also, urban legend has it that Vader tips that he recognizes 3PO in Empire strikes back. Again, I don't believe it. Why?
Because I don't believe for a second that George Lucas had the whole thing worked out in his head that far back.
I popular web-comic writer has been quoted as saying "I believe George Lucas is a hack who got lucky the first time." I tend to agree with that to some extent. I agree with Cancer in that I think he tried to get too cute, too many times with the prequels.
Is the little Rodian in Phantom Menace actually identified as Greedo? I gotta check up on that.
Ok, did some research. Yay, Google! The Rodian friend of Anakin in Phantom Menace is named Wald.
Triva: Wald is played by Warwick Davies who has been in Return of the Jedi as the Ewok, Wicket, and is better known as the title character in the movie Willow.
Interesting stuff, Cancer. You should cut/paste that into your Journal for future reference before this thread falls into obscurity. :-)
LOL @ more Lucas nonsense...
Lucas either knows what he's doing...or he likes to mess with people's emotions...or it all makes sense in his head (sense that not too many people get, including myself).
He's the creator, the one who decides what, how, and where....Like he said in an interview (I saw this in the plane when I was returning to Miami), not too many people were going to like this movie, but he was pleased with it.
Oh, I forget to mention. Greedo and Wald are brothers.
I found the stuff about Greedo/Wald also, but I'd already typed way to much. LOL
DB: Um....1) Obi Wan couldn't have kept LUKE (not Lucas) because Luke is already with Uncle Owen in the first movie (Ep 1). 2) Padme dies in childbirth. That's established somewhere in the original trilogy. 3) I was also surprised to see 3PO have such a small role.
My thoughts: Yoda was handled exceptionally. R2-D2 was a badass. It's sad when a droid is more interesting than Anakin's WIFE! I'm very conflicted about the R2-D2 thing. I'm not too thrilled with the aspect that he can suddenly fly in the prequels and that he is obviously hindered by his lack of mobility in the original triliogy. More Lucas schenigans.
I agree with Cancer in that Ep 2 and 3 are classic and extremely well done because Lucas did NOT direct them. Honestly, he's the ultimate narccisist (???) when it comes to the Star Wars stuff.
Loved the movie saw it three times already have to say one of the best scenes is the fight between obi wan and the droid comander when anakin killed the younglings to me it wasnt emotional just kind of cool
I watched the premonition sequences carefully each time I saw the movie. I don't think they were meant to be real premonitions, but rather that Palpatine placed them in Anakin's mind.
The R2 flight thing is a Clones problem and quite disturbing. If you argue, Just because R2 didn't fly in the first trilogy doesn't mean he never could, that's just weak. It's more Lucas bad writing.
I think in Episode 3 there was a deliberate effort to make the droids better. Many thought c3-p0 was just too over the top in Clones. Star Wars droids have always been a little silly, but they were never as silly as in Clones. In Sith c3-p0 was much more serious.
R2 was always the brave one. I think his scenes in Sith were some of the highlights of the movie.
R2 is so cute. He's funny but he does what he has to do. I love the scene where he electrocutes the bad guys and then gets kicked...thats was funny.
I think that R2 is probably the most solid character in the entire epic. His scenes are always important. I mean, starting from the very first movie...how many times does R2 save the day?
Strangely enough, I think my favorite mini-scene from Sith was when Yoda KOs the imperial guards in the doorway. Classic.
a part that I thought was funny is seeing the wookies flying the aircraft and destroying the droid ships still abit shocked to see chewbacas character in it
yeah, Yoda and the guards at the door...that was funny...i think everyone in the theater laughed at that one.
i have a few qustions, any one notice that both 3po's legs were gold? if im not mistakin one was silver in the first 3, i was disapointed with how fast anakin turnd an pledged his aledgence to the darkside an went an killed thos younglings. iv also heard rumers in the books that darth maul didnt die in phantom menace, he actuly had cybernetik legs an was still an active sith. I also heard that in the books of course that the empirere was linked to the birth of anakin, like he had this planned way WAY in advance, but alase these are rumers
Ok, I've seen it...I only LOVED the part, last part where Obi Wan screamed at Anakin.. "you're suppose to destroy the dark side, NOT become one of them" (something like that) and GOT frustrated when he didn't finish Anakin or just tossed him to the fiery lake...ain't it frustrating?
Though the effects are much much better and oi! Not to mention Grievous weilding FOUR light sabers, of different colors! and yeah, the ride of Obi Wan (lizard biggy thing!)
I DO Hope they'd make a remake of all the episodes!
yes, sadly, the "noooooooooooooooo" of the darth vader was gay! LOL!
I really didnt like the film that much. There was so much that didnt seem right for linking 3 and 4 together, so many mistakes. Episodes 4, 5 and 6 are most definately the best films out of the complete series.
I've had some more time to think about the movie. More things I hated:
At least Natalie Portman has ALWAYS been pretty!
and yes, I have to watch it again!
=)
The purple sabre is a Sam Jackson original. When asked what color he wanted he said "purple." As far as I know, he has the only purple sabre in the saga. Also, there is an urban legend stating that he has "BFM" on the bottom of his sabre. Sam Jackson has denied this.
DB: There you go again, forgetting the original trilogy. shame on you! The Jedi pretty much all die. That's established in the very first movie. Sam Jackson acknowledges in interviews between EP 2 and 3 that he knows he's got to die in the next movie. Granted, the way he goes is pretty lame. But how many epic deaths can we put in one move. As far as how the jedi got taken out so easily....look at EP2 when Jango singlehandedly kills a jedi by shooting him over the rail of the viewing stand in the arena. Not every jedi is Yoda, Anakin or Luke.
Chock it all up to Lucas inconsistancies that did, you have to admit, move the story along.
Also, we must remember that in EP2 Windu and Yoda admit that the jedi are losing their powers for some reason. That would explain, a bit, why they were so easily overcome. Also why Yoda suddenly turns tail and hops away and why Obi Wan goes into hiding. Weak, but plausible.
Hmmm..yellow lightsaber would look akward! but still, it's a noble weapon..and not to mention the damage it'll do..
Thank you Mr. Cancer for that, I've downloaded it..and yes, it's quite long, not done reading it though...
Oh yeah, does anyone know, where the film was set? of course there's no such place as Naboo,Tattoine. Was it set in New Zealand, just like Lord of the Rings?
=)
Almost all the desert scenes (Tatooine) from any of the movies were shot in Tunisia. That North African country is on the southern coast of the Mediteranean. I'm not sure where the outdoor scenes on Naboo were filmed. New Zealand sounds right. BUT....a very, very high percentage of the last two films were generated wholly on computer. Revenge of the Sith has so much CGI work in it, that there is already talk of it taking a best ANIMATED film Academy Award.
If you've played either Star Wars: Glalaxies or either of the Knights of the Old Republic computer games, you'll find that the color of a light saber is determined by the type of crystal used. There are many more colors than those shown in the movie. There are even crystals which the Jedi Councile has outlawed for use in the construction of lightsabers for various reasons.
Actually, Episode 4 was shot in California (the desert scenes). The location was around Death Valley and the scene where R2 gets zapped is a place called Mosiac Canyon.
I was in the area one day and specifically drove there and hiked the canyon.
I don't know about Episode 6 (the rescue of Han Solo).
Neat info on some of the filming locals.
http://www.starwars.com/kids/explore/bts/f20001016/index.html
Didn't know about the Death Valley thing. Thanks!
Its all public land (can't remember if it's state or federal, but it's public). It's pretty fun to walk through there... You'll recognize a lot of the scenery.
I wish the film was here already. I have to wait for the army to get it the film second hand. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah...
I want the green sabre. lol. My favorite color... ^_^ Ahh... I can't wait to see it!!
i havent seen it yet but i really want to. i havent even seen episode 2 yet
has anyone heard about episodes 7, 8 and 9 at all?
i came across a web-page with a sound clip of mark hamill talking about a conversation with mr lucas about it... back when the originals were filmed.
but think about it a second. it kind of makes sense. making films after 4, 5 and 6 with the same mark hamill in? decent idea in my eyes. but is it genuine?
Lucas repeadedly states, emphatically, that he will not do Episodes 7, 8 and 9. They would be hard do do unless time was rolled into the future after the deaths of Luke and company. Making 3 films that take place after the original trilogy would be problematic, in that all of the original actors are getting a bit up there in age to reprise the roles. I doubt that Harrison Ford would sign on to do another one.
I agree with Cancer, yet again, and would love to see the Sith Wars done on film. My second choice would be the Heir to the Empire trilogy by Timothy Zahn. Still the finest novels written about the expanded universe.
I just seen it yesterday, it was really good. even if you did know what was going to happen anyway. it's just good to see it played out. I think i'm going to rewatch 4 - 6 again for fun.
Actually, the final trilogy makes some sense. It was always assumed (by fans) that the final trilogy would be the Thrawn set of books... Which takes place about 9 years after episode 6 if I recall correctly.
However this wouldn't have to be the case. The final trilogy could be set 30-40 years after episode 6... In which case the original actors would be the right age. You could also have the Solo and Skywalker children as lead characters... Although Chewbacca would be dead (if they followed the books).
I don't think it will ever happen though. When this is done Lucas will have cleared about 10 billion.
I did enjoy the movie, Im not a die hard StarWars fan. My favorite part is only 2 seconds long (Yoda knocking out the Imperial guards) and*sidebar for a moment* It was wierd that he wasnt losing and he decided to just give up. This is a battle for the empire and he wants to just give up? I didnt get it, just accepted it because the next movies wouldnt work without either of them and it would have had to be a battle to the death.
My only other lasting impression was that Anakin got sexier as he got more in touch with his dark side. The picture of him posted in the thread with those eyes. *melts* nummy.
Thats my 2cents :)
i havent read any of the books but, i heard that the solo kids, the boy was to be more powerful than luke, Luke ends up with the darkside but dos come back, how dos Chewbacca die?
Ok, Thank you Mr. Cancer and Jason for the location of the films...hmmm..death valley huh? isn't that where Lestat (Queen of the Damned movie) had his concert? I think so..
(SORRY, NOT American!)
And yes, Jason brother, I've watched it last night, episodes 4, 5 and 6, can't believe I still have the VHS! hahaha!
So; there'd be NO, 7,8 and 9? because it won't follow the WHOLE plot or what?
And oi! One last thing,is it just me or Count Dooku's lightsaber is different? it looks like a cane or something.
Yes, google whore, me!
I have read so many Star Wars books that they start to blend together.. I'm not sure which book this was in (It can probably be found in that time line file I uploaded), but Chewbacca and one of the Solo kids (I think it was one of the twins... Maybe Jacen) are on a planet that is breaking up. They're trying to get into the Millennium Falcon but there isn't time. At the last minute Chewbacca grabs Jacen and throws him straight up into the Falcon. The planet then breaks up and swallows Chewbacca.
Han is at odds with Jacen over the affair for quite a while... Thinking Jacen as a Jedi should've been able to save Chewbacca.
I believe that Dooku's saber was a nod to Christopher Lee's classical background. If you'll notice, his style has more of a fencing grip than other jedi.
Hmmmm..probably Jason, no wonder he really didn't have any difficulty HOLDING the saber...the handle is simple!
Why didn't they show Anakin cutting the kids into pieces like in the book???????????
PG-13, that's why.
Anyway, technically, the book didn't show that.
id love for every one who has a complaint about the movie try and make one even better...cause it's such an easy thing to do...i say enjoy the good parts about the movie and shut up with your whining about the over analyzing of it..
you are Jaden?!?!? as in... Jedi Academies very own?!?!? WOW!!!!!!
thanx for the insight on chewbacca Cancer, an i heard that Palptine wasent scared by the lighting, it only revield his true self, an that he was never in any real danger from mace, he only wanted anakin to stike him to help bring him to the dark side. remember that Grievies didnt know that palpitine an darth sidious were one an the same, he actuly aloud himself to be kidnaped an rescued by the Jedi. i think he was in complete control the whole time
But Cancer you are criticule in your judging of the movie, an that works so not all people just take the film at face value, you make them think about what thay saw an the history behind it. i like what you said about Yoda get zapped my the emperior, "wouldnt happin", your right, lets face it Yoda is the shit, NUFF said
That would be TOO morbid to see Anakin slicing the younglings!
I know! They just showed his intentions and I just got mad/ kind of disappointed....Those little younge Jedi were soooooooooooo cute!!! & DEFENSELESS!!!!!!!
Touché DB darling! were they cute as in cute or cute as IN really CUTE?
hahahaha!
OH yeah, remember that young one who saved the senator? He's good...[sadly he died]
What did Obi-Wan say after he killed General Grievous? [can't remember, sorry]
=)
I have to agree with Cancer. It's hard not to be critical of a man with so many resources who's had almost 30 years to get it right the first time.
Right on! Cancer and Jason.
King...CUTE as in BABY CUTENESS, ADORABILITY, OLD LADY CHEEK PINCHING CUTE! =)
King T: How uncivilized. (Obi-wan)
Jason: That's what bothers me most. Episode 4 was made on a 10 million dollar budget. Empire and Jedi had more.. But not a lot more.
Lucas has had 22 years since Jedi, and virtually unlimited resources to produce this trilogy... And these 3 movies are the crap we get.
the main problem with anarkin I found is they simply made him too whiney/winging, far too out spoken when he dose something wrong.. he's warrior he's prideful.. an excessivly prideful person would always obscure their view to what they did as being the right way, not go on and on about it to whoever is willing to lend an ear..
on that note, as I've always said in ep2 it would have made much more sence if he'd kept that to himself a kind of hateful-brooding instead of crying about it
as with the killing younglings.. that's something palpatine would do, not vader.. vader/anarkin, vader would have left them to others as they're not worth the effort.. or he'd have trained them up for his own person task forces
as for palpatine, he was never a fighter (hence vader did all his fighting for him), the extent of his power was never determined but the general belief was that he could influance the entire republic (over time) and was able to co-ordinate the entire imperial fleet to absolute percision, so it's possible he was slowly draining the council makeing them weaker
as for leaving anarkin for dead, I suppose you could take into account that obi-wan couldn't kill him for the simple fact that anarkin has a proficy yet to forfill.. though in a way he already had, in the way of luke (though nobody knew it.. same story as king aurther, when going for lancelot they came along one generation too early)
as for vaders 'noooooo' at the end..I couldn't help but laugh ....the entire tone for the vader we know was ofset, though christensen isn't entirely at fault..just poor scripting
I had forgotten about how the Emperor controlled the Imperial Fleet via the Force... Something Thrawn calls upon the cloned dark jedi to do in the Thrawn trilogy.
Let's not forget that Anikan is seething with conflicting emotions when he offs the Jedi children. (I hate the term younglings and refuse to acknowledge it. Sort of like the M word) He's very young, confused, pissed off and, most likely, being manipulated the whole time by Palpatine. If The Emperor could influence and entire FLEET of pilots, he'd probably have no problem futzing around in a padawan's mind. Remember, Anakin never actually gets his Jedi merit badge.
Of course, this is all speculation. There are many, many ambiguities and inferrences in these movies. Honestly, it's almost as though Lucas intended it that way. I hope I'm not giving him too much credit. I honestly believe that a huge part of the appeal of this epic story is that each person can try to draw his or her own conclusions about a lot of things. And, as in this thread, have logical and spirited discussions about all of it. We can poo-poo the prequals all we want, but the fact that this thread is still alive on this website shows that we really do like what's been done. In some aspect anyway. If not just to pick it apart. It's entertainment. I was entertained. :-) I think I got my money's worth.
I agreed.....I enjoyed ROTS, a hellova lot more then the first two. I just didn't like when Anakin became Vader.....his lightsaber stayed BLUE! Sith Lords have red sabers.......when Anakin turned bad....he should have had a RED SABER. Even the bloody toys gave him a BLUE and a RED saber.......the TOY SABER changes color. Lucas should have done this too.
And Lucas should not have cut out Bia Ling from the movie.......
She only had one line, and because she did a PLAYBOY spread, she (and the scene were Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, and Padme, discuss starting the Rebel Alliance....Bai Ling is there as a Senetor.....) were removed from the film.
It seems that Lucas is cool with killing people including children, but has a problem with actresses who go nude in playboy. Which is strange because he was the dude who wrote Princess Leia into a steel bikini for Return of the Jedi. And we all know STAR WARS geeks had wet-dreams because of that scene.
C'est la vie!
I STILL have wet dreams of her in the slave girl outfit. Soooo hot...want to touch the hiney. Ohhhhh....
i dont think it was influnce of the force that made the clones turn, remember that the clones were made by the dark side undercover, i bet that the "protocol 66" was a type of training or brain washing or programing of the clones. thay were ready to go at the right comand of Palpitine
Thank you Mr. Cancer...
LOL DB, cuteness huh? :P
Hawk: of course Anakin would STILL have a BLUE lightsaber, he JUST turned into a sith, they haven't found a red crystal yet for him!
hahaha!
=)
The creation of a litesaber is a big deal, and the final step in a Jedi's training. Remember the scene in Jedi when Luke turns himself in, and he and Vader are talking on the porch (it's like a porch anyway)? This is not verbatim (don't have time to look it up, but it goes something like this:
Vader: I see you have constructed a new litesaber. Indeed you are powerful. Your training is now complete.
This is never explained in the movies, but the process of constructing a litesaber is very complex. You can't just snap it together. You need to use the force to hold the pieces in a certain alignment to get it together.
The way this movie was scripted, there wasn't time for Anakin to create a new litesaber. Plus it had to be worked in how Obi-wan would get possession of his blue saber to give to Luke.
Well i have to agree with Cancer, Padame didnt really do anything, Vadar's scream was predicable, if Anikin had all this great power of the Dark Side how come Obi-Wan kicked his arse. Well anyway, u get the picture, what's next?
worst movies ever in order of offenceiveness
1 pink flamingos
2 episode 3
3 episode 1
4 episode 2
5 matrix 3
6 the entire porn industry
7 home videos about your dog
8 Christmas concert video of children I do not know
9 Christmas concert video of children I do know
10 titanic (GLUB... GLUB....GLUB YAY decaprio has frozen to death)
reasons why I loathe it ....
The Emperor is supposed to be so big and scary that he doesn't need to fight the emperor fighting Yoda I can accept but Mace Windu should have been as effective as the guards were against Yoda....
The dookie death scene is a direct re-hash of 6's end scene only sped up and less interesting....
The sign of a bad movie is how long it takes for me to realize that I am in a profoundly uncomfortable place (a movie theatre) and that I wish to leave at all cost....
I think the biggest flaw in the prequels was that it was simply a let's fill in the holes mission..... so that is all it was.....
the plot was laughable..... de-mystifying the force a massive error..... lacking of consistant interesting villans (the main villians had less screen time than individual storm troopers in the origional series).... character development seems forced to make the characters fit into what they eventually become in episode 4 the only re-deeming acting job was by obi-wan's actor....
And the biggest flaw is that Lucas changed to the darkside a long time ago..... he belives the hype around him so much that he thinks that he is famous because he has talent and not because he created a movie.... that it was a forgone conclusion that he would come to power and control....
Yes the empire is Lucas and those whom complain are the rebellion but it is over and the rebelion lost and we are all out at least 50$ for our wanting to belive in a dream of another good movie....
Ahahahah! Mordey, that was fun! :P
Do you need the force to turn on the lightsaber? or it's just like a flash light and push something and "Vrooommm..swooshhh" there goes your lightsaber, ready for battle.
I felt really really bad when anakin killed the children
But I'm still very impressed how anakin turned into a sith just because he was afraid of losing padme and int he end, he killed her in his own madness and when he looses his legs.... damn.. that's just too much for someone we all have seen grow up and stronger in the last two movies...
As far as I know, lightsabers are activated by a physical switch. I assume that it could be turned on and off using the Force.
Interesting thought: have the switch be internal with no outer physical accutraments. So that the Jedi would have to use the Force just to turn it on and off.
I'm such a geek.
As this thread seems to be petering out a bit, I wanted to give it a Red Bull and bring up something I've been reading about around the internet, lately:
Which order should the Star Wars films be viewed in?
Purists claim that they should be watched in order: I, II, III, IV, V, VI.
Others claim that they should be watched in the order that they were made so as not to ruin any surprises: IV, V, VI, I, II, III.
I'm tend to side with a third way of thinking:
IV, V, (I, II, III,) VI.
Would anyone like to weigh in on this?
well it was my understanding that sabers had an on button that you have to keep depressed to keep the blade up.... that's when when people drop their sabers the blade shuts off....
I will not mention Vader's girlie "Nooooooo!", and I will not mention that Vader is not a psychopath as presented in the episode 3, but I want to mention this: Where is the Imperial March while Vader gets his mask on!?
lord vader should kill palpatine already.. but he needed him to search for his children and give balance to the forece, right?
Vader brought Balance to the force when he killed the emperior in return of the Jedi...but some would say that he brought balance when he an padma had the twins, i side with the killing of palpitine
Hmmmm..interesting thought Jason, I heard someone mentioned that he read a book somewhere and that it says that you'd use the force to turn it on!
Inside the Lightsaber!
=)
went and saw the movie again that makes the fourth time. Well vincent you was right prophecy came true just not the way everyone thought.
I have seen it twice and liked it... i have all the rest of them and can't wait until this one comes out on dvd
i hate ep.3 cus their are no Bounty Hunters HMPH! and why da younglings die! that lil guy was kiking ass but got shot!
the only thing i didnt really like abouth the third one is that Jar-Jar only has one scene and doesnt get killed. they should have gotten rid of him in one of the earlier ones...but hey thats just what i think about him. Also if I were Anikin I would have killed Obi-Wan even if I was on fire and he was my mentor for some time.
I think it was better than the first two. I'm sure I'll see it again when the crowds die down. Cancer has alot of good points though.
Been thinking on the Yoda/Palpatine fight.
My theory as to why he didn't kick Palpatine's ass when he had the chance:
Yoda knows that Heineken has been prophecied to bring balance to the force. He has not, as of Ep 3, done so. Yoda also knows that Palpatine must have something to do with the prophecy. Soooo....he turns tail, hops away, and goes into exile....and waits for Episode 1. :-)
Mmmmmmm... Star Wars... I saw this one the weekend it came out :-D...
*~Gylanah~*
i read where some said you had to use the force to turn on the light saber...NOT true, if so Han Solo could have never used it to open the ton-ton to warm luke on the planit Hoth in Empire
i was wonderiing why it took over 20 years to get the death star constructed? i mean with all the tecnolidge thay have, an look at the ships in the opening seqince of 3. an did any one els get the impression that thay wiped out all the wokiees ?
Yoda is powerful, but has he ever fought a real powerful sith lord? Palpitin sais "now you will feel the full power of the dark side". i feel that even yoda may have underestimated darth sidios. dont get me wrong yoda the man but, has he really had any real compatition till now? we all know he has to get away an not kill sidios, hence the original 3 movies
i forgot, you guys remember when anaikin went to the temple to kill the childrin? the one that tells him that ther is to many an asks him what thay should do, thats Lucus's youngest son, from what iv been told
Oh yeah, guess what I found last night?
(DB, you're gonna love this) The youngling that saved Bail Organa (is that the correct spelling?) is actually a son of George Lucas...nice huh?
At least that's what HE (George) said when asked at yahoo...(yes, I watched the yahoo interview)
And also he was asked to choose between, Princess Leia and Padmé, he chose Princess Leia because Leia has good sense of humor that Padmé (eh?)
George was also asked who would he choose for company if he was stuck in an island...C3-PO or Chewbacca? He chose, Chewbacca, because he based Chewy on his dog...nice!
=)
I still stick to my initial reasoning behind Yoda "running" from the fight.
Normally, I wouldn't but I'm bumping this sucker because of all the the closed threads between this one and the front page.

Lol wonder what happaned to chewbaca. Ohwell so has anyone heard anything about the attack of the clones series coming back on cartoon network. I read somewhere that they are thinking about a live action show. If this is to happen what is everyones view on it good or bad?
This is kind of long but I think it sums up what Lucas might have in mind for the future. Then again...this IS Lucas we're talking about so who knows.
Two Star Wars TV series will follow the latest movie in the hit film franchise, director George Lucas has said.
Animated show Clone Wars, currently broadcast as three-minute episodes, will become "a 3D animated" series of 30-minute shows, he said.
It would be followed by a live-action series featuring characters from the six Star Wars movies, he added.
"We're probably not going to start that for about a year," he told a Star Wars convention in Indianapolis.
'Step away'
The latest Star Wars film, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, is released in most countries on 19 May.
The Clone Wars "micro-series" has had 25 three-minute episodes on Cartoon Network, taking the story up to Revenge of the Sith.
Mr Lucas told the Celebration III convention the live action TV series would be similar to Raiders of the Lost Ark spin-off The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
"Like on The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, we want to write all the stories for the entire first season all at once," he said.
George Lucas at Celebration III
Star Wars creator George Lucas said the sixth film would be the last
"I'm going to get it started, and hire the show runners and all of that, then I'll probably step away."
He said the live action series would feature stories taking place between movie episodes three and four - Revenge of the Sith and the original 1977 Star Wars movie.
Lucas said he "never considered" extending the Stars Wars story beyond episode six - Return of the Jedi.
"To be very honest with you, I never ever thought of anything that happened beyond episode six," he said.
"It's the Darth Vader story. It starts with him being a young boy and it ends with him dying. I never ever really considered ever taking that particular story further."
Mr Lucas said the live action series would feature some existing Star Wars characters - but would not elaborate.
"There's a lot of issues that are connected, but you won't necessarily see a lot of the people that are connected," he said.
