Well, I have heard that Anne Rice will not be writing anymore supposed *dark* novels in the near future. She is going to begin to write books on chritianity and the like. She states she started writing vampiric books becaus she wanted to see what it all was about and how people felt, she hopes to accomplish the same thing with her new work topic. I heard this from my brother so i know not if it is fact or fiction. Has anyone heard of this besides me? If so what are you thoughts on it? Do you believe they will be as big a hit as her previous work?

I hope that's not true, and if it is, than it's a crying shame.... She is one of the most talented writers of our time. I enjoy her dark writting style very much.

a LOng time ago, she gave out her e-mail add and everyone mailed her..dunno if it was her..BUT the message said, she's NO longer writing those things..vampiric stuff..

Anne rice said that the vampire as a hero, takes us back to primitive times when we worshipped dark and light gods. And it's a powerful metaphor for the outcast and monster in us all.

Let me just say that I read the article and the letter that she wrote, yes it is true that she is going to be writing a book and it will be in the format of her writing as Jesus. Much like Lestat wrote as himself. This should come as no shock to all of you, because if you read all her vampire books you would all already know that she has always been a firm believer in God. She is a great writer, always has and always will be, no matter what she writes. It however did not say there would be no more vampire books, only that she is going to write a different kind of book, which she has done before, with her romance novels and the witch novels.

I don't like Ann Rice.

Anne Rice is a great writer. I hate that she is going to leave all this and start something new.

I remember when her husband died, she said that she is gonna write one more vamp novel and that’s than.. so I don't what she is gonna do.. I'll miss her work that's for sure..

i hope she does not stop writing becuase her work is amazing... it would really suck to not have a writer like her... around

I have always loved Anne Rice's work, her books, whether they are vampiric, witches, choir boys, mummy's, and so forth. I do not consider her books to be dark but what is out there and what it true.

She had left us with so many different tales and stories. So many ideas bursting of our own.

Be that she is who she is I am not into the religion as she is. Yet I desire for her to do what she pleases. What she writes I will read!

this just means that all of her "vamp" books are even more worth keeping around.

Very nice stuff.. there is a series of beauty books... the vampire thing is done.. how much can she write.. the last few books have been laborious to read-far far away from the brillance of interview or lestat. If she is onto a new path in her life, so be it...

how so? have you read her other book, it's not a shock to me. she has always had a strong religous message in her books and she does not go along with the normal way of thinking about. her own little twist on how she feels about things.

Ok wait a minute ... not to be a downer here .. but start a petition .. write her .. move her down on lists .. yada yada yada .. what's all this .. the woman is a writer .. many writers write about many different things .. and as much as we as fans enjoy them, who are we to tell them what they can or can't write .. instead of forming an automatic opinnion before a writer even publishes their new book, why not give them a chance .. that is what a TRUE FAN would do .. save judgement about how or what it will be like until you read it ... then give your opinnions .. but I'm guessing that many others have already formed their opninnions and when her next book does come out ... people will bomb it from the get go, because it's not her "normal" topic.... ok I'm done ... that will be one dollar and fifty cents please ... >;^}
