Hi, my profile has been recently hacked into. They changed my password and put lies about me on there. I found out what they changed my password to by rumors going around. They also offended my friends by writing them offending messages. If you have recieved a message from me in the past four days, it wasnt me and i apologize for anything that the hacker may have said to you that was offending. The only people that i know of that they have offended is Cancer and Nicnivian. And again i apologize. If you have recieved a message from me (well actually it was the hacker but cha know what i mean), please let me know. I think it would be best if you posted it on here cause im afraid that if u message me then they will delete it before i have a chance to read your message and respond to it. If its not too mean please also say what the hacker said to you. And if anybody has any idea of who it might of been please let me know cause this shit isnt funny. Alot of my friends from school was pissed at me due to what they wrot in my profile and portfolio. Again i apolgize and thank everybody for trying to help me. Have a good day.

This seems to be happening more and more often. What gives? Maybe we should start changing our passwords every couple of days?

Account protection is up to the member. Not me. You're the ones that choose your passwords. Every password should be alpha, numeric, alternating case, not constructed of any english words, and 8+ characters in length (12 is better).

Also, you need to protect the password of the email account that is associated with your VR account. If someone has access to that account, but not your VR account, they can just email themselves a new password.

That doesn't sound very good. (obviously, lol) I hope everything turns out alright. And I hope this doesn't become a reoccuring problem...

Is there no way to figure out who did it? I typically change my password about every other week, but have not on here due to the fact that I have used something that is in no way related to me, and I don't think it would be that easy to figure out, but I do think I will start changing my password now. Yeah... Hackers can be a pain now and then but once you figure out how to deal with them they are not so bad.

This is a bit serious. the question is are you guys using your home computers or are you using someone elses. because if you use an apartment lobies computer etc... like many on here i know does the person may have software that captures passwords etc... and there are other protection like stop connecting or recieving files from people you don't know via instant messengers.

from what i understand by the proper definition of the word i am a hacker or software inthusiast by no way i do network hack never got that far. but the term hacker has been turned into something offensive i'd preffer you call those people who does malicious things crackers.

My husband CAN hack, but he dosen't. When I first heard about people hacking on this site and erasing or changing people's profiles, I had told my husband and he said 'Those sick jerks. They need to go get a job so thier hands aren't so idle.' lol, yeah, that would be nice.

But yes doing as cancer has said with using numeric and upper and lower case letters WILL indeed improve your accounts protection!

And yes the term would be "Cracker" for what has been done with stolen passwords!

i have a certain respect for hackers since they can do thing i can't.but i don't like it when they use that for their own selfish means. that is totally uncalled for.
