A quote from the movie Signs:
"People break down into two groups.
When they experience something, group number one sees it as more than chance... They see it as a sign, evidence, that there is someone up there, watching out for them. Group number two sees it as just pure randomness... Just a turn of chance."
"See what you have to ask yourself is what kind of person are you? Are you the type that believes things just happen, or do you sees signs?"
With increased Solar flares, the looming threat of financial collapse, and now the renewed threat of all out war in the middle with Israel, has some people beginning to really stop and ponder events!!
Today is the 21st of November... that means we are now exactly 30 days away from the Winter Solstice and the end of the Mayan Calendar. So the Question stands.... what group do you fall into?
If you are a believer in the Prophecies of those like the Hopie Indians or the Mayans have you made any preparations? How do you plan to spend "what could be" your last few weeks??
I am really interested to see what everyone has to say...
So please share what ever you would like.
I personal believe in Karma and that nothing happens by chance. So I guess that means I fall into group number one even thought I don't necessarily believe in a higher power.
I don't believe that the Mayan calendar represents the end but I do believe we are in troubling times... thus I have no plans outside of attending a huge party on the 20th.
I mean how can you pass up an "End of the World" party?? lol
I believe that electromagnetics , sound and Atonia are at the root of most "paranormal" experiences as far as ghosts are concerned.
I also believe that because of our bioelectric nature,we can communicate telepathically. We as humans are naturally empathetic.
I believe we as humans are capable of preconition too.
Yet the reasons for these capabilities are not paranormal, but are in fact normal..With real physics behind them.
I believe in karma.
I see signs in some things,as sometimes they are simply too hard to ignore and/or there timing is too perfect..
I guess, bottom line is,I believe in syncronicity, entrainment and enviromental influence.
I also believe that every decision we make and action we take dictates our enviroment future and "fate".
I believe in Lady Karma, and Madam Fate. In my life I do not believe in coincedences.
It could be the end of the world, or the end of the world as we knew it. It's not for us to know, so live now worry later. We can not control it so why should we worry.
Oh, and the bombings in Isriel, I think it's just the ignorance and superiority each religion and person feels.
The signs are there, just not the right ones. they are signs that something is going to happen, what that is? who is to say. Personally if its the end of the world I believe that we will see the signs told in revelations. Just my opinion. I am sure for that I will be based and called names. so be it.
I believe in coincidence- up to a point. Question is when a few coincidences become fate/ karma. When you cross the line is hard to decide. Depends on your own point of view.
Like many I don't believe the end of the Mayan calender spells the end of everything, after all the end of the Mayan calender doesn't mean the end of everything-just the beginning of another cycle.
Yes- the happenings around the world are bad- but when are they ever good? The situation in Syria and Gaza for example is horrendous I agree but honestly when have those area ever had peace (not inc. their endless ceasefires).
The storm in New York-again very bad and unusual but was that storm a product of mother nature or a result of of effects of man?? Something to ponder.
Maybe the storm was Mother Nature punishing humanity for being careless. *shrugs*
......and these last week will go on as any other.....that is the way I wish to live.
HellsAdvocate, I read the Bible and for Sure, did not find any signs. Probably I read the wrong Bible. Signs are just part of an aging Planet and got nothing to do with prophesies or any "Manbo-Wambo" created by someone under the influence of some narcotics. My humble opinion.
I too am for a decrease in the human population. Humanity is a poision to Mother Earth and thus could do with a litte decreasion. ...
*looks up and laughs*
Well if that doesn't teach you nothing will
Like others I believe that the human population does need to decrease and in the long term it will-at least in China thanks to their 1 child policy but in some countries they seem to be breeding like bunnies and the crazy thing is that is mostly happening where there already famines, not enough land to support the current population etc
Needless to say to correct the situation and re-balance everything there will most likely be some sort of disaster/disease outbreak. Nature always finds a way.
Hi dabbler, If you were referring to me, sorry to tell you I've never read a book titled 2012. I've watched the film which I enjoyed greatly. Although 'The Day after tomorrow' was better and more scientifically plausible.
I do credit Jurassic Park for the 'life always finds a way' sentence which is very true. Sorry about not referencing and here's me, a Uni student lol
The Maya did not prophecy anything to happen on December 21, 2012. That is simply the day that a particular long count ends. The following day simply begins the next long count. When November or any month ends, we don't declare doom. We simply turn the page of the colander and begin a new month. Its just a measure of counting time.
Human beings are programmed to make shapes out of the random, if not our senses would fail and you would stumble around in the electro magnetic ether like a sperm.
Do I think the warning and then the event in Jersey shore were random, of course not. Even the scientists will admit the chances of 2 such storms in a year are a 1000-1.
It is sad but true but when it comes to it, man is incapable of rational thought, particularly when money is at stake.
So let's examine the facts, Iceland grounded flights for a month restoring humility, Christchurch restored honor, Japan returned truth, NewYork restored honesty and integrity.
Now the subject on the news? climate change is real and we need to look after our trees.
Incidentally I had nothing to do with it, my presence was just coincidence, Tugs his forelock, smiles at the ignorant and winks at the mice.
As humans we try to make sense of the world by recognising coincidences, this helps us to understand that there is a greater plan at work and thus put the jigsaw together. It helps us when things we have no control over happen, we make sense of it by making connections. My lovely mum passed away this week on the anniversary of her fathers death and coincidentally the due date I was given for my daughter, a sign, I hope so............
