I've noticed that many people have in their profiles that they won't respond to a bite without a message. I think it would be a cool idea if someone could leave a message along with the bite. And maybe a feature to view your sent mail as well.
what do you think about this idea. And could it be done without too much trouble for the system.(never thoughtI'd have athread like tis...did ya?)

At least a simple hello or something. Just biting someone is stupid. So yeah, I think is good.

A message with the bite at the same time is a good idea, although I'm notorious for the bite and run ;)

I generally respond back with a message - to each his or her own I say...

I have byting turned off find it a waste of time...
But I also find "hi" as the entirity of the message annoying...
Those few that know unique bytes are fun though..

its fine with me to get a bite with no message i just message the person back, say thanks an we spark an conversation

Actually I think it's a great idea... nothing is worse in my book than responding to a bite and getting a, "uh, hi” as a response.... I would much prefer messages so that I know who to waste my time attempting a conversation with.

well you could always message first, like chatting up and next time you meet you can send the bite.

no sahahria...it's me. And your right....if someone bites me and all I get is "hi" or no response at all...it's aggrivating.

Exactly- I always took biting as an "ice breaker" get to know someone you wouldn't otherwise... and most do it thinking it's going to be THE conversation.... *sigh*

i kinda think the bitting it annoying. but yeah just message the person after you bite them then thats the best way.

I turned my biting off too. I don't normally respond to it. I either have no clue what to say or just meh. I think a bite would a message would be a good idea.

but wouldn't it be easier if you HAD the option to add a message along with the bite. I'm not well versed with database or server protocols but wouldn't thatmake it easier on the system as well as the members.

Ithink it's sad that a "vampire" has many members turning off the biting feature. To me that's one of the cool things about this site. You kinda feel like a vampire(not that we really are) when you bite someone. Like they don't see it coming.
