i have just started to realize pretty much all of the vampire movies are almost always the same...i dont see why it kinda looks like they all copied each other i think they should make a movie based on the life before and after you know like a documentry of a vampire...does anyone else have thoughts on this?
i think that woild be a very good idea and i have realized how the movies do copy one another. it is quite sad if you ask me and depressing as well. why dont they just try to make a unnique movie
Because they're interested in making money, not a good vamp flick. Thats why these movies tend to stick to the same tired formula, for the most part. Making something unique would require more risk.
i always thought it was strange that the movies all seemed so similar...i wonder how hard it IS to come up with a new approach??
it couldn't be that hard...well, maybe. But it is boring to see the same story over and over with diferent characters.
Actually I think that would be a good idea... but I believe hollywood would still find a way of making even that story conform to the stles of the others....
Not a bad idea, but hey, hollywood likes money :)

A good screenwriter and director could make a great vampire movie that still made enough money to cover budget. Vampires fascinate so many people, not just those who are very much into the subject as on this site. The fascination is linked to the whole concept of sacrificing part of yourself or your life in order to change, and in the darker side of beauty. Exploring these themes could make for an amazing movie. It's just too easy for filmmakers to stick to the classic vampire formula but no doubt an adventurous one will try something different eventually.
I love the idea. I stongly agree with you that the movies these days are heading into lies and making the Vampire race look like were all just a bunch of murderious killers. And were not. We feed to stay alive. We condem those who condemed us!
well there has only been one vampire movie that i actually enjoyed and still do dracula dead and loving it with leslie nelson omg funny ass movie
well if hollywood would make a movie like that they would probably make more money than making a corny one
I've never really looked at it like that but you know what... you are right about it. They all do seem similer.
I agree that they should make a movie with a before and after, vampire document. That would be cool.
Stop looking to Hollywood to make the movies that you want to see. For them, the bottom line is money. Trust me, I work with a lot of these people.
There are a lot of innovative vampire films that are out there in the indie world.
And if you don't like with's out there, just make one yourself. Hells, I did that. ;)
WoW. I do not think all the vampire movies are similar. In ways they are because of the mythological sense but the storyline is always different.~NFA
all the vampires portray something or someone the same...ok take queen of the damned and dracula2000 what was the main issue in both of those movies?????pretty much the same
When film companies want to make money they use ideas they know have already worked for any movie look at the hollywood system in the 1940S
they all do seem a like, but that is because movies now suck as it is, and people cant come up with their own ideas so they copy from those before.
well pretty nuch every story line for us has been used. so there for anything you come up with had probubly already been used! but every once and a wile some one pulls and original idea out of there ass!
It is because they have seen how the original idea works so they jus play off that idea...that and besides if a totally new movie were made that was nothing like the others then who is to say that vamp fans around the world wouldn't be shaking their hands in anger saying that is nothing like the vampire that has been written about for centuries...just my thoughts.
how about this one bloodrayne looks awesome for a vampire movie
When you look at it it's not just vampire movies that are all the same. It's every movie that's out there. They're all boy meets girl (or boy), boy falls in love, big monster or evil stands in way of future, monster dies, happily ever after to get laid.
Maybe we should just get a bunch of VR members together and storm into Speildburg's office and force him to make a good movie. That would be fun.
The have that formula in Hollywood for just about everything that the main studios put out. That's why the indies and the docs have been the ones that have been making the real money the past few years. (Even LOTR falls into the catigory of indie)
i think someone should come up with a screenwrite for a movie and do an indi film about it movie theatres do show indi films like march of the penguins(ugh stupid boring movie)but i am starting to get burned out on supposidly scary movies they are all boring as hell
Well I don't see Buffy hitting the big screen but, I just came across an article of a tele-movie for The WB.
OK, I bought a Buffy mag - bite me!
It was fifty percent off sticker.
Looks like "Spike" will be back.
Tim Minear has been approached to write and direct it. And will come from 'Angelworld' not 'Buffyworld.'
I like the idea of a documentary type but it was interesting in the early years the different ways they interpreted some stuff such as john carpenter decided religious articles don't work against them compared to other movies. I actually just thinks it's fascinating how they all try to top each other using a similar formula. Then again, I'm an electronic media major and this is like part of my degree.
when are they ever gonna make a vampire movie that's not like the others. Same plot, just different flavor.
Personally, I do not care if they are true or not. They are just movies meant for entertainment. I like them all, even the cheesy ones.
i agree with shalina we dont need documentries their boring the cheesy ones are predictable but great
I like most of the vampire films that have been brought out so i dont know what to say
i like the differrent typs of vamp movies. even if they are alittle of the same.
Yeah, alot of them do have a similiar thread, but I believe that is because of all the common elements that vampires are belived to share... hmmm...
Also, there are not many movies when the vampire "wins" in the end!! haha I think we need more of those victorious vampire movies!! ;-)
There is a movie called "Nadja" that is somewhat in a documentary style and that is similiar to the idea you have though...
if you have noticed...not all movies are the same...all the small detailslike how many times you have to be biten in order to be turned is 2 to 3 to seven times.
yes that is a good point they do all look alike and one runs into the next even the actors are the same or look very similar...
They do seem to get redundant quite often.
I'd like one like was mentioned in the original post, a bit of a documentary type thing.
With the vampyres not getting all destroyed. Lol
hollywood never gets it exactally right but im sure its hard to get it exactally right
Nothing more to say on the subject. That is why they are carbon copies. :P Now we just rely on the best special effects to bedazzle us. Thanks peeps!
