What I had hoped would be an interesting thread has become a theatre of the absurd but without the good parts.
I have no tolerance for idiocy. If the answers that say humans should all die or are slaves merely come from a roleplaying aspect, then have fun. But, if you TRULY believe you are the archetypical "vampire" with supernatural powers then you are in for a rude awakening.
Vampyr and vampire I have come to believe are two different entities. I have posted many times elsewhere that vampyr are those Beings who live in a heightened state of existence. They understand the importance of spirituality and feel all of life's nuances and vulgarities more keenly than others. Vampyrs are not supernatural beings. We do not fly, turn to mist or wolf. We do not combust in the Sun, and believe it or not we CAN eat garlic.
"Vampires" are creatures of fiction and folklore cobbled together and are played out BY HUMANS and even some vampyrs as a fiction and/or alternate ego.
Human rights - indeed the rights of all sentients - are the most important issue to continue to challenge our growth as reasoning beings. Vampyrs guard all rights jealously and would and DO retaliate against those who would threaten to rob them of these rights.
"Vampires" who play at being these dark beings are doing one of two things: Either they BELIEVE that ONLY they have rights, or, they are roleplaying. If it is the latter, then I say, good on you! Enjoy the catharsis of the alter ago. If it is the former, then I say, beware of whom you might try to make a slave. It could be a Vampyr.
We are coming up on Black History Month. Those of you who are SERIOUS about humans deserving no rights need to do some READING. Look at the struggles and triumphs of people who through fighting for their rights have ensured YOURS, no matter your colour or creed.
Did Rosa Parks NOT have rights? Did the nine MILLION who perished under the Nazis deserve to be food for the machinery? Does the HUMAN child with cerebral palsy count as nothing but food? Is she/he naught but a thing with no rights because your sad delusion says so?
I am a vampyr, NOT a "vampire". I have fought for and will forever continue to fight for the rights all that live. I am against the Death Penalty. I do not condone murder, and I believe that murderers have surrendered their right to live free. BUT, I did NOT give them life, and to kill them is to BECOME them.
Finally, I want to echo Stabb for a moment: You who think of humans as cattle may find yourselves meeting the wrong human and you shall end your days sipping your food from a straw - and guess what? It will NOT be blood.
