most of people who are beginners, in this subject, need to protect them selfs, usually picturing a bubble around you and some white candles will do the trick also a blessing with a cross on your neck should be worn, there are many types of wiccans Christian wiccans is what i am, .
let me know here what you think of this subject any advice for other protection spells please add here, thanks!
I usually think of an egg shaped iron bubble around me for protection.
There are many ways to protect oneself and the bubble is a good one, white candles but how about salt or sage, smudging is always a practice I do monthly, I smudge my home once a month, use a salt solution and I have even been told by one that he also take Olive Oil and marks each of his entryways and windows with it.
When I started to meditate it was back in the 70s. I was involved in a spiritualist community in Orange Co. CA. We never talked of Wicca back then and most had never heard of it really. It became popular down the road. Most spiritualists are sort of Universalists and you might find someone wearing an ankh, a cross or who knows what.
What we did was say something about only the positive can come in and the negative stay out. Varied depending on the individual. We visualized a white light around us. NO one I knew did smudging. I didn't hear of that until much later and none of the other things. I know other shielding methods in general like creating mirrors and servitors because I was in magickal groups for a long time, but basically you can visualize almost anything around you that would keep something out. They believed when you did anything that raises the vibration you are an open vessel so something was always said and visualized as protection.
I usually just meditate and prayer im a Christian wiccan
Block your mind off with a wall or anything you think will work for you..
Meditation strengthens your mind and spirit... Not to mention relieves a lot of stress. It helps you to astral travel and see visions as well.. if you're doing chakra meditation
I must be the Party pooper. If you create a aura around you to protect you around a crazy human, who went psycho, Ohh Ohhh, you will get hurt. The protection only work for super-natural entity., not from someone with a gun or knives. So, be careful about your 'protection"
This is pretty much similar to the Golden Energy Ball Visualisation technique taught by BillytheJust in the Member Pages section. Except this Ball is blue in colour and it surrounds me. This is something I've known since I was in my early teenage years. And this Ball emanates from the Earth. It not only protects, it could also be invoked whenever one is in dire need of being calmed. So if you're tensed before a major examination or an interview, this is a wonderful visualisation therapy. No hocus-pocus here. Just a technique to calm and focus the mind. Visualising mirrors (outward-facing) is a good way to shield oneself from negativity.
I used to practice this when I was younger, but it has been some time.
I practice Sahaja Meditation everyday, part of the meditation includes a Shield of Protection. The Shield of Protection protects your subtle body, helps to balance your energy and maintain your state of meditation. It lasts through out the day.
When I meditate, I picture my feet turning into a tree trunk . Roots in the ground . This and a prayer keeps me feeling safe.
I believe if you place a bubble of some sort picture angels and that helps me,
There are four types of shields I use most often.
First is a simple bubble shield like some of the ones described above.
Second is a thicker shield that slows things down, like an encasing of putty.
Third is a sturdier shield, often visualized as a wall made of brick or metal.
I tend to use those three in tandem.
The fourth is the transmutation shield. The version of this that I use is a shield with roses on the inside and thorns on the outside. What it does is it takes the energy coming in and breaks it down into something that you can then use for your own devices. I use this shield most often in grounding, and in sunlight I turn the roses outward and let the roots cling to my being.
There are many ways to protect oneself and the bubble is a good one, white candles but how about salt or sage, smudging is always a practice I do monthly, I smudge my home once a month
Mantra is a very effective form of meditation because it gives me something tangible to work with.
I don't have to visualize or anything subjective.
I simply repeat the same words over and over again.
I believe that in the proper context, a mantra is meant to be said repeatedly until death.
wow.
Through out the day I use the outward facing mirrors, because to me it helps me feel that nobody can see the real me inside, but it shows the real them on the outside
I think this is a good topic.
as im inclined to believe its geared toward the novice I feel I can speak and add some advice here.
this is definitely a subject to study. learning/understanding protection and meditation are one thing, performing them are another.
I feel if it is your intention to attempt these that they SHOULD essentially go hand in hand. when dealing with exterior realms it is imperative you are able to block out any harm. this is one topic to learn right the first time. its much easier to learn right the first time rather than learning wrong and having to correct it later.
I'm not sure what it is some of you are trying to protect yourselves from. Personally, I prefer to open up. When you return, your brain and body will put most things into perspective, as that is the protection we are given. If you foray into realms beyond you, then you can ask for help.
I was always told prayer is for talking and meditation was for listening, so why would you block at all, unless you don't care to listen correctly.
In a way I think it has to do with people wanting to feel like there is something that could harm them, some "greater force" that is plotting against them. However they also want this to be true, so that they can then imagine that there is a "blessing force" that protects them.
It is sort of like being a hypochondriac, and taking placebos to cure, or treat the ails you imagine you have.
I find meditating to be very imformative and relaxing I meditate an hour a day, If not sometimes I try 2 hours
I enjoy seeing all of this information here. It helps people explore and find the method that works for them. Personally, I use water based protections and only if I feel the need for them.
Hmmm, I was thinking about this again today, it's not so much meditation, but I have on occasion drawn energy from the earth to create a shield from the wind, usually only if it gets colder than -40*, otherwise I don't really remember to bother. That's about as protection as protection gets, but i think it is more focus than meditation, unless we get a whole week of super cold, and it becomes more conduit-like and less effort, from the practice.
I find the bubble method to be helpful sometimes. However meditation and smudging have never steered me wrong.
I smoke birch bark after clearing my house out with sage, makes for some good protection, other than that my spirit is really strong and I have an unusually high tolerance
i agree with nikki i do the same chakra healing and meditation relaxes me i do it every day and picture a white bubble around me like a really white bubble so bright it almost blinds you.
ZorayaAurora, I can relate to your post about saging and the olive oil markings which my neighbor suggested.
I practice very little. It depends on my mood. Like others, I shield myself first, and astral. Sometimes i use incense, and listen to binaural frequencies for either chakra balancing or healing and even to aid in astral.
intersting mystic, I use healing sage and some dragon blood incense for protection
I rarely feel the PSi or so called Theta wave attacks.
If I do I Lay down and meditate, then I spin wheel within, this raises the heart rate and stress levels throughout the body.
It probably releases adranaline and the mind begins to connect with the body in an ever spiralling vortex of power, it becomes increasingly difficult to contain. It's a bit like sex but draws from elsewhere.
Then focus on the subject in mind and release the Dragon.
It will roar out from the mind and body and smash anything in its path.
Physical feelings, an enormous sense of relief and tingling arms and fingers...Ahem, am I getting paid for this?
Only 1 person here required this. Send me a check for S1,000,000 and I,ll tell you which Sire got my attention.
Interesting you mention the tingling sensations.
I have those all the time.
same here on tingling sensations i practice protection by faith and let god handle the rest im neither a wiccan or a pagan a christian,/witch is what i am called.
When I first started to try and protect myself from someone metaphysically trying to touch me, I did try to do the bubble shield thing, but it failed. I couldnt figure out why or how to prevent them from doing so since it was unwanted.
I eventually learned how to manage my way through the dream world, and even without thinking or concentrating while being attacked I was able to build a shield and repel the attack. So, I think I now have a handle on it.
My mate was going on how he taught this lady how to build shields which made me kind of mad since he hasnt taught me squat. So he said he would teach me and its really all about visualization. So, he gave me an explanation, but I still felt annoyed because he only explained things I already knew how to do, and he should have done so way long before now...
So, all in all I think in order to do such things, I guess you really cant rely much on others but yourself and have to have the confidence to do so.
A sage and cedar smudge stick all by itself can protect a home. Smudge all of the way around the house AFTER smudging inside. Never the other way around as you can lock something bad inside the house with you. For non spiritual self protection a small ladies .380 semi automatic should do the job. Be sure to load it with yellowjacket hollow point bullets.
