I have noticed several profiles of late that when attempting to visit are under suspension. Some of these profiles either the avatar photo or the quote or both appear to violate the VR TOS.

If the Avatar or quote is what causes the profile to be suspended, and the suspension is designed to prevent the TOS violation, is the suspension effective?

If it is the members intention to offend via the photo or quote, the suspension of their account maintains the presence of the offencive material until such time as the time runs out on their inactivity.

Just and observation and I would welcome other's comments and opinions on this. Should these profile be removed faster than the inactivity perion to eliminate the offensive material?

I belive the point is too give them a chance to change the problem :)

A good point there, but we often don't know if there is something even more offensive on the profile itself that the suspension covers

I've seen really offensive accounts 'disappear' quickly enough, I would imagine the Sentorans would draw a really bad account to the attention of a master admin who would then be able to decide what is best done.

yes, that's true but I think the point was that if they take their time fixing it, the offensive avantar and quote is still visible in the profile list.

To take it to the logical step, the suspension should remove the profile from the list until it is fixed

I would agree that the logical thing to do would be, in fairness, remove them from the listing until the violation was corrected.

I know when I first came,my profile was suspended..and it was not for anything offensive.It was for picture missplacement...but it still said otherwise..I think that it is more or less a standard reason that is posted.They are pretty strict about it and rightly so.

my profile was recently suspended, and i was never even informed of exactly what was wrong with it!! even the sentoran i worked with seemed unsure as to what it was, and what she assumed was wrong i had taken out although i KNOW it is in another profile as well...AND the person who suspended me was in my profile before and i had the images i took off on my profile the whole time...(anyone who has louis royo work watch out cause thats what i ended up taking out....)

my portfolio was also suspended, and it was stuff in my description that consisted of me and my fiance and some deco thingys that other people do have in their ports.....that was the big issue...as well as supposedly one of my gallery photos, when none of my gallery photos has anything at all against policy....

so SOME people are being suspended unfairly and not being told why .....

funny too cause i had no problems at all till i became a PM

I'm not really sure what causes suspension. I know certain bodily things are not suppose to be shown but yet have seen the opposite on some profiles and one a premium member who hawked me when I gave them a lower score but I did because they had pictures I felt shouldn't be there. Most often I don't do that even on gory profiles. If they set it up in a thematic way and it follows nicely that is what I look at...creativity. I don't know where the problems lie as there are a lot of profiles in here and perhaps it is just the views of the one who is looking. I have seen forum topics that stop right away and they do fall in their parameters which makes me think some doing the looking are not that educated. I have no other alternative but to think this and perhaps some sort of good ol boy system. I am not trying to insult anyone as I could be way off base...it's just an observation. Hope everything straightens out for everyone because I think most try to make an interesting profile and portpholio, etc

well i've got no idea what so ever why,

I think it is to give them a chance to change the problem.
but i do agree if a profile is suspended they should be told why so they can remove whatever is causing the problem

The same thing happened to me, but on my portfolio, and I have noticed that there are some under suspesion as well. I had to ask the Sentoran that placed the suspension what was offensive....I know that they tell you that there is something offensive, but they should tell you what is offensive in your profile or portfolio

I am reopening this to make an important point.

No one is ever suspended without "being told why". If a section of your account is suspended, a message is displayed EVERY time you log in.

Take 10 seconds and read the log in message.
