LET'S KEEP THE EXCITEMENT GOING! DOGFIGHT BRINGS FAVOR AND FUN TO ALL THE HOUSES AND COVENS!

DOGFIGHT CHANGE OF CHAIR:

DOGFIGHT is now being co-ordinated in the world of the Houses by GWENDOLYN as chair, and co-chair, GREUSOMETENDANCIES, as I am returning to the Covens.

GWENDOLYN & GREUSOMETENDANCIES will send all updated Player Lists to the Houses, where necessary, and any questions for DOGFIGHT are to be put to either of them.

In the world of the Covens, BABIESGIRL & DEADMAN13 are co-chairs, as like the above assuming equal duties.

Please could ALL COVEN MASTERS send updated Player Lists to either BABIESGIRL or DEADMAN13, for formulation of New Coven Player List?

Congratulations GWENDOLYN & GREUSOMETENDANCIES, as the new co-chairs of DOGFIGHT for the Houses!

And I likewise! The great thing about DOGFIGHT is it genuinely makes favor raising a pleasure, rather than a penance; HAVE AT THEE, HELLCATS!

By the way: no disrespect whatsoever to my firm friend, LADYWINTERROGUE, who worked so hard on the original DOGFIGHT CREATOR TAG, but I relived her of the pressure by asking MOONMYSTIC to hlep out, as there was a problem with a couple of the names, but here we go, with the MOONMYSTIC version!

I would love to participate, and I am in fact listed in my house's participators, but until such time as the flashing banners are removed from the bottom of the screen, I won't be playing. I find them too distracting and they have a bad tendency to trigger migraines for me

im pretty good at hangman. all my favor came from it . i just dont get how to do dogfights. do we jus message each other... open up hangman all at the same time. play for 10 mins and then after that message each other our score?

yup just post a challenge to another player, Check your starting favor, set your timer to the agreed on time Neo, 10 minutes or max 20 minutes and at the end of it see what you accumulated and post the results on your coven thread! The competition makes it fun to earn favor for your coven or house! Easy as that!

MISTERTRICKY? You or anyone would need to add all Player List people for your streams, HOUSE or COVEN, onto your friend lists, and when you see those little avatars pop up, at the left under 'user menu', you can then message them and challenge for a DOGFIGHT; I'll play you anytime, cheerfully, and don't lose hope, as once you've had one battle, there'll be no stopping you!

The Ace marks above are designed for a HOUSE or COVEN Master to bestow upon members making the requisite points AFTER ENTRY into their Teams, and are indeed symbols of prowess and pride! I will start over to earn my Bronze Ace, as 'being in the trenches' is only right and proper, is it not?

LADYWINTERROGUE! MOONMYSTIC & yourself have really produced wonderful Creator Tags, and I suggest my co-chairs fly them on their pros, also, as it announces to all and sundry exactly who the chairs are; we all work together on this site, as has been proven through this, each 'bringing something to the table', skills coming into play where needed, and DOGFIGHT has certainly served to prove this..;)

Madam? Here are the rules for the 2 threads which would go onto the forum of any VR team participating, and overview is:

DOUBLE, STACKED, MULTISTACKED HANGMAN: INTERNAL (withing Team) GAMES

DOGFIGHT: EXTERNAL (against other Houses or Covens) GAME

Thus...

DOUBLE, STACKED & MULTISTACKED HANGMAN:

This concept was devised by myself back in Madadh-Alluidh, January 2006, has been brought into several of the VR Covens to great effect, both on favor raising the fun way, and also in morale.

To play is very simple; no more slogging away at Hangman alone, as this is how it works...;)

Players go off at THE SAME TIME for 10min or 20min stints against the Blue Man in hangman, message one another at end, lodging scores on this thread, with highest scorer declared winner. as easy as that, and bags of fun!

What happens for a Team is rapidly increased favor, as these games are exciting, and favor raising ceases to be a dull chore, members getting closer as a result, morale rising, the favor beside individual names climbing at a rate of knots. I've seen this happen time after time, and it is pure 'gold', for any Team!

DEFINITIONS:

DOUBLE HANGMAN: 2 Players

STACKED HANGMAN: 3 players

MULTISTACKED HANGMAN: 4+ Players

to lodge scores on this thread:

DEVILISH DIRK: 20pts
SAVAGE STELLA: 35PTS
VICIOUS VELMA: 7pts

WINNER: SAVAGE STELLA at 35pts

Top Tip: By Employing the 'COVERT CORRECTITUDE FORMULA' (or variants elsewhere), you will beat the Blue Man 9 times out of 10, and here it is:

Select first in any order the following letters, the blanks normally easy to fill in, for 9 out of 10 wins...;)

O, I, S, E, N, A, L, R, T, P, G

These variants can also be 10min NEO or 20min MAX, so please ensure opponent(s) know which version is to be played, and lodge scores accordingly, IE:

DOGFIGHT:
The concept of DOGFIGHT came into being, within Coven STONE GUARDIANS in February of 2007, born of Double, Stacked, and Multistacked Hangman, variations of the basic game as originally devised and instituted by DEADMAN13...

The intention is to transform the basic hangman game into something fun and enjoyable, rather than remaining a dull chore, and, as has been seen, this certainly is the case with DOGFIGHT!

To play DOGFIGHT is very simple...

DOGFIGHT:

Add competitors on the Player Lists of participating Houses to your friend list, and, once seen as being online, Player List people are then messaged and challenged to a DOGFIGHT.

MAIN POINTS:

HOUSE MAY ONLY PLAY AGAINST HOUSE, COVEN AGAINST COVEN. Games can take place between friends in Coven or House, but ARE NOT 'OFFICIAL', SO CANNOT BE LODGED AS SCORED DOGFIGHT CONTESTS.

Always state START FAVOR at beginning of game to opponent, as this eliminates cheating potential. At end of game, state END FAVOR, and declare score made for DOGFIGHT.

TO START DOGFIGHT GAME:

The go-word is: "NOW!!!" and once sent, play begins.

Upon agreement, BOTH OR ALL PLAYERS go to 'contests' under Main Menu, select 'Hangman' and play the game for 20mins at the same time. At game end, BOTH OR ALL PLAYERS message scores to one another, and post the results on their House DOGFIGHT threads, with highest scoring player/House listed as the winner, thus:

DOGFIGHT:
SEPTIMUS SILVER (House name): ?PTS
PENELOPE PURPLE (House name): ?PTS
BARBIE BROWN (House name): ?PTS
GARY GREEN (House name): ?PTS
RUBY RED (House name): ?PTS
OCTAVIA ORANGE (House name): ?PTS
BYRON BLACK (House name): ?PTS

WINNING HOUSE: (House name) at ?PTS

The initial 'set-up' phase of gathering players and co-ordinating activity can be long and drawn out, with higher player numbers involved, but that is unavoidable, the end-result highly satisfying! Anyone on IM can use this to speed up the process...

INSTALLATION OF DOGFIGHT:
To install DOGFIGHT into a team, immediately start a forum thread entitled 'DOGFIGHT', copy these directives onto it, therafter all posts are DOGFIGHT scores lodged, as in example above. List on this thread PLAYER LIST NAMES from participating teams, so that players know who is technically available from opposing teams to play against.
DOGFIGHT VARIANTS:

NEO-DOGFIGHT (10min version)

MAX-DOGFIGHT (20min version)

ALWAYS STATE WHICH VERSION TO PLAY BEFORE COMMENCEMENT OF ANY DOGFIGHT BATTLE!

TOP TIPS: Note your favor score beside your name BEFORE play, and at game end, your score will be easy to figure! Also, at game end, 'round off' your favor score by playing solo, to 'even your numbers', so for ensuing games, you do not get confused...;)

There! That's how it's done, and example shown displays 7 Houses participating, but it can be one against one, two against two, whatever number, on all sides, so long as they are equally-matched.

This game of DOGFIGHT is useful, in that it fosters and strengthens good relations between the participating Houses, and, win or lose, it brings in the extra team points to all participants, anyway, yet to win raises morale, and that is well worth engaging in DOGFIGHT, for!

A DOGFIGHT IS CONSIDERED 'VOID' IF, IN A ONE AGAINST ONE, A PARTY IS UNABLE TO CONTINUE, FOR WHATEVER REASON.

DOGFIGHT was devised by DEADMAN13 In mid-February, 2007, and is open to all on VR, but only ever Coven against Coven, House against House! Have fun and earn MIGHTY FAVOR, the easy and enjoyable way!

NEO-DOGFIGHT is the variant, which is played for 10 MINUTES duration, for those who prefer a shorter version. STATE WHICH VERSION YOU PLAY BEFORE COMMENCEMENT, either NEO-DOGFIGHT (10mins) or MAX-DOGFIGHT (20mins). Happy Hunting, Hellcats!

I must formally apologize for not being involved during the last 2 weeks, but have of necessity needed to build up my Coven Of Correctitude, but once the dust settles, I and my fellow Hellcats will be battling! Much of the time in this early phase is spent raising critically-needed solo favor, but DOGFIGHT is far from dead, and I can't wait to let loose my spandaus, again!!!

In my Coven, we have the ACE MARK attainment system, and it is working very well, riasing moral, and any COVEN OR HOUSE MASTER who is interested in this highly effective system, please do visit the Covert Correctitude page GALLERY OF ACES, and feel free to institute this highly-effective system within your own Teams...;)

I've been meaning to ask for a while now, so here it goes.

Why can't Houses and Covens play against each other? At the end of the day, considering there is no 'overall prize' I was just wondering why the seperating of societies? I mean no disrespect, but if all we're doing in the 'grand scheme of things' is reporting who won a match then perhaps intermixing the societies would add for some more fun, more possible friendships made and more flavor, err.. favor.. (Don't forget the competition)

Perhaps the player list might become way too huge (with all the new covens springing up) lol

Of necessity and not for actual division, Houses & Covens MUST play only within their own respective streams, as they both head for seperate Number One positions for Houses & Covens, so it would be a nonsense for it to all suddenly become 'intermixed', the design in the firts place very precise and for a distinct and sensible reason. 'Unofficial# Coven against House DOGFIGHTS can take place, but as just explained, scores cannot be formally lodged on forum DOGFIGHT threads. The length of the Player list? Not a problem; Players have the option to choose from many to engage in a DOGFIGHT...;)
