Some say that your Eyes hold your Souls. Or that your Eyes could see right through people's Souls.


That brings me to this Question... Can it be possible that all these "Ghosts" people see, can just be our own Souls. That it's our own Energy? Maybe we aren't seeing other Souls, or feeling them for that matter. Could it be possible that we are just playing mind tricks on....ourselves?

I wouldent say so. I dont think the human brain would like to see itself in most case's. It has other ways of doing something like that through dreams, rather then 'something we saw in the corner of our eye'

Since I don't believe in ghosts.. or souls.. I'd say neither is true.

Your eyes are merely light receptors. Your brain tells you what you see and the job it does is only as good as the informtation the eyes give it.

You can't trust your eyes all the time.. light and shadows play tricks on you. People believe they saw what they want to believe they saw... The skeptic will look twice...

Yea, I agree with that. I think in life, basically anything is possible. Yet another reason why life is so great. =)

Hmmmm...yea I heard that too. But I was also talking about something else. Maybe all we ever see that's Supernatural, is our own Minds playing with us...

The saying is, "Your eyes are the windows to your Soul." This meanings that people can see through you and into your own Soul. The likewise is same to seeing into some else's. Very old belief and the reason why the Oriental race always avoid looking directly at someone's eyes when talking. Seeing into someone else's Soul is very personal and private.

As for some of these shadows, try cleaning the dust particles out of your eyes. When you look into a different direction you are not only moving your eyes but also the dust. Whence, the shadows move or disappears!

Yes, so if your eyes are the windows to your soul, then maybe your eyes -hold- your Soul. That's kinda what I was saying. But I don't one would assume they saw a Ghost simply because the "dust" in their eyes moved. Maybe some do, but I doubt most do.

Also, to not waste this Post, I would like to say that sometimes people see Orbs and whatnot flashing for some period of time. So that can't possibly just be Dust in your Eyes.

I don't believe in the theory that the eyes are the windows to the soul. So no.

I'd like to play the skeptic here and say that, probably in the majority of cases, so called ghost or other supernatural sightings are more than likely tricks of the viewer's eyes and/or mind (as the two work so closely in conjunction with each other).

In a dark house, a little more jumpy than usual, hear a noise and are convinced you see something out of the corner of your eye? It's more than likely you're imagining it. Maybe it's your cat, skittering away at dust bunnies. Maybe it's a leaf blown in from outside. Maybe it's nothing at all, just your eyes reacting to the lack of light by creating their own things to look at.

There is, almost always, a rational explanation for many "supernatural" sightings or events. I know we'd all rather think there's something weird going on, but sometimes there just isn't.

The mirroring of your energy is a different subject. Yes, this happens but it is talked about in feelings and emotions. What we see in other people, good or bad, we are actually seeing what is in us. If you find someone totally annoying, it is because you see habits or behaviors that you yourself have and find upsetting. It has nothing to do with the person your are seeing. Likes and dislikes. It makes little difference. You see in people what you like or dislike about yourself.

Does this have anything to do with shadows and ghosts that we see or think we see? I doubt it. But the mind does play tricks. It needs to protect itself against over load. A magic trick is amazing until the mind learns what really happened. Then it is just more info to file. The amazing is no longer.

I had a Druggie friend. I thought he was a complete waste to himself and everyone around me. Are you saying that that's what I think about myself? I doubt it.


But yes, I agree. I don't think you can will yourself into seeing a Ghost, but sometimes you just can't control your eyes or your mind. So it's not about will or wanting to see something or someone at all.

That's a good point. Maybe in some cases that is true, but I don't think so in all.

I do not think it is us seeing ourselves.. I think it is you can look into someones eys and see their soul... Like it is telling you something about them.

However it's no coincidence that lovers lock eyes.....windows to the soul indeed.

The eyes are the windows to ones soul and to a better understanding of that person. For example, a person can say that they are feeling a certain way, but when you look into their eyes you see a completely different emotion or feeling than what they had just told you. I believe that you could potentially focus into your own soul by staring into a mirror for some time, but I don't think that that people are seeing their souls in the brief flashes and glimpses in the mirrors. It is hard to agree to the statement of it being dust in your eyes since your eyes naturally produce moisture and expel said dust or at the very least, wet it down to keep it from moving around. I really don't think that there is a definate answer to the question of What is causing the abnormal glimpses and such in the mirror. Carpe Noctem

No I don't think it is a trick on ourselves...since I have seen someone after they have died on several occasions...it is not something I wanted consciously or subconsciously....Actually it scared the hell outta me the first time to where I fell...I was so wrapped up in my recovery from surgery and was on a treadmill with the music cranked..I was all all alone in my house.....I caught something in the corner of my eye which I knew could not be real...I turned and it was her...my mother who had died a year before...I stopped walking and basically fell off the treadmill...when I recovered she was gone...there was something major happening in my life at the time....and anything that has occurred since then that was major....even before I knew something major was going to happen like back then...I would feel a tug on my shirt....I would turn and there would be no one there...yet it still happens...before something major in my life happens...before I even knew anything was going on...so if it is me that sees that then well I must be blind to it consciously....

As for ghosts being SOULS I don't think so. Sure, a lot of people's minds play tricks on them but that's just their mind playing tricks, not their soul.

I think the eyes are defiantely the windows to the soul...I also believe that in this life anything is possible....having said that your theory is possible but it is also possible that we do see ghosts as well...so my asnswer is both at times we may decieve ourselves and other times probably not.

I would say yes and no...why? as some mention the eyes are a part of us that can see manythings and show many things. So this said we can see what we wish to see actually or refuse to see what we dont want to, as for showing we can show what we wish, it is easy to hide our soul, many succeed, even tho it is most fo the time to do evil, or hurt, still some do it for protection, to prevent themselves from seing what can hurt or what they refuse to accept. I would say that indeed then our eyes can play tircks on our mind...as it can also play tricks onthose who seek to see in them but only to try and learn what thye should not.

yes i think that could be possible i mean people do not really know where ghost are from so they could just be your soul that you are seeing

I personally do not think that the eyes are the windows to peoples souls, and i do not think that when a person see's a ghost or spirit that they are really seeing their own soul through their eyes, that is my own thoughts thoe...

My answer is this: yes and no. It depends on the circumstances. If you are the only one who sees this ghost and this ghost keeps trying to lead you to something dealing with your past or a hidden secret that you have blocked from your mind...then yes.
If others (I know not everyone sees ghosts) see this ghost, then why would they be seeing something from your mind? Wouldn't their perception be different from yours? If more than just you sees this ghost, then I imagine there is another explanation for it.

I doubt our mind would show us ourselves. I obviously can't know for sure. I think you can see into someone's soul through their eyes, but not your own in your own eyes.

No I don't think we see our own soul that way. Ghosts we see are definately the ghosts of others.
I've heard of people being able to Read Eyes, like give a normal reading but just by staring into their eyes. They are meant to be the window to the soul, there is deifnately something there to be discovered.

um im not sure about that, thats very cool theory tho, and i believe maybe our energy has sumthing to do with spirits, but i dont think that we create them with our energy no.maybe bring them to the surface yes

well i know i havent seen any ghosts or so called spirits.. but i have friends that say they think they have but who knows..i am a person who has to see to believe.. it could be very possible thou..
