I hear about these, but i really dont know exactly what they are. Can someone please go into detail about these?

The two types and vampire that are put into terms as being common day vampires and sang and psy.

sang is short for sanguinarian, which are the ones who need to drink blood.

Psy is short for psychic, which are the ones who feed off of anothers spirit energy, aura, chakra (sp)... whatever you want to call it. They do not need blood and can go completly without it.

So sang vamps are the ones who have polyphoria or whatever is wrong with the hemoglobin in their own blood

I was told different by someone else. I also read on a differnt post, i believe it was the sang vs psy vamps or something, that sang vamps feed off of the energy in the blood, and that the energy is what kept them going. ANy truth in that?

I think so, because it's the enregy that they need. The psy vamps can get the energy without drinking blood... The sang's try to get the same results but need to drink the blood to do it.

Or it could be that thier blood is just lacking something else that they get from the blood they drink... I really am not sure.

Since blood is what keeps a person alive, what we do is drinking it to feed off of that person's life...

ok, let me put it like this, if some one is born and raised most of there lifes as a christain, and gone to church every week and so one, one that does that believed in there own way is true, they believed in that life style and the chritain way.

but alot of us here grow up in differently in believeing what we had as kids, as a feel the need for energy feeding or blood feeding, and not know why, when we was growing up. and some probley was told it was evil or wrong. when there is nothing wrong in it. and when we grew up, and learned more to who we are, it became a way of life. just like some in the christain way of life.
to some it is just as much a religion as any other way of life.

one more note.... drinking blood can be to some as secret as any thing that can be done, it can give the feel as being connected to another. since you would be dringing there life force as some would call it. and another note. drinking blood needs to be carefull simple because of like aids and such. and other blood tranferrable disceases.

Sanguinarians are vampires that consume blood, but the misconseption being spread here is that it's due to porphyria or some such disorder. Vampirism in any form is not about blood. Both sang and psy vampires need energy, not blood. The purpose of consuming blood is the fact that blood has such a high concentration of energy that it is much more effective and efficient than feeding purely via psychic means. They don't need the blood, and it's entirely possible for a sanguinarian to survive without ever touching a drop of blood. However, to satiate their energy needs, they would require much longer psychic feedings, and likely more of them.

As La6Muerte66 alluded to there is a third group that can do both to get energy. Only a small percentage of sanguine vampires have a blood disorder.

i think that everyone has answered this question fully. so i only post to agree with what the majority has already said.

Is there ant way to deflect the Psi Vampire's power? Can you block them from draining your energy? I know people like that.

Yes, as it has been stated here many times, a "sang" (a loose interpretation) is a "blood drinker".

lol I don't think someone has to grow up with these beliefs to believe in them.. After all I was raised as catholic child untill we just stoped going to church... because it wasn't doing any good for either of us and we needed the sleep.

and I thought that I would add that I have heard that in a sang does not drink blood they become very irritable and depressed.

To me the cathoilic church has alot of referances to the occult . They even have there own rituals . In demonology the succubus and iccubus were sort of vampiric

ya they were now that you mention it. I have anyways had.. somewhat of an awe about them... Even since I was a little girl and I was looking through my moms art history book and saw that picture that has a demon looking thing sitting on a womans chest - the nightmare is what it is called. It is a painting by Fuseli. For some reason that painting drew me to it when and I wanted to know more about it and that creature.

All vamps need blood to survive most need more then others. And most also use energy instead if they cant get blood .

I have only ever feed from blood once in my life i get more from feeding on emotion . A good book i once read also referenced a type of vampire they called the tantric vamp ....guess what they feed on

If I'm not mistaken, a tantric vampire would simply be a psy vampire who feeds almost exclusively via sexual exchange.

To the person who asked, yes there is a way to block a psy from feeding on your energy. Shielding is an effective way to stop a novice from draining you, but an experienced vampire will break through any defense you put up. However, if you have a reasonable defense, most psys will find it more worth their effort to feed on someone with a weaker defense. Another technique, which may or may not be very effective (it depends on your ability) would be to draw the energy back through the same channel. As Damien DaVille says, for vampires to compete like this is wasteful, as it tires out both and wastes energy, but for a non-vampire to fight back like that, it may be enough to convince the psy vampire to prey elsewhere.

A sang vampire drinks blood. They like the taste of blood, but also in a way needs the engery within the blood.

I would just like to say that there are more than two types of vampyr.

The sanguinarians are blood drinking vampyr.

The Psy Vamps are the ones who feed on energy.

The Astral vampyr do partake in blood letting for ritualistic purposes, and can also feed in the same way as psy vampyr. However, there is a lot of contention to the idea that they even exist.

Personally I do believe that the Astral Vampyr exist and I like to call them the Necruvians as they live on the vampyric astral plane in a realm called necruvia.

Obviously, others who perform astral projection may know this place by another name as astral projection can be personal to each person who uses it. But the fact that they exist on the astral planes, in my opinion, is uncontestable as many have spoken of them in different forums here on VR.

It may not be directly connected with this thread but I thought to ask in order not to make a new one.
Several times, when I'm with some person, it could be as well as sitting, talking etc., I have started to feel very peaceful, overall a very pleasant feeling, what calms me down, so I was wondering, if it's me who is taking energy or that other person?
