as a praticeing wiccan and an energy vampire is there a conflict between the two.what i want to know is am i going against the belief harm none do what ye will.while i do give out more than i take in,i do still take from others.should i ask before i take?need other peoples thoughts on the matter

I don't profess to knowing anything about the Wiccan belief system but it only makes sense that you should ask before taking anything from anyone, thats just common courtesy in any belief system.

there are codes of conduct you must follow if your of the wiccan religion like any other religon there are guidelines. So you must adapt your nature to them.

If you would rather embrace the vampiric side, then the religion you will have to come to terms that your not really wiccan. But that doesnt mean you dont have a patron, etc...

As I believe we all take and give as a matter of course, I see no conflict.

Friend, the most important thing to remember as a Wiccan is intent drives whether the action is "good" or "evil". If your your actions are primarily for "good" then Karma will balance in your favor, but to enhance the "good" ask donors before taking. I am a dark pagan that takes energy from the elements primarily air. This is allowed as one is not doing harm but only recharging from nature just like eating food. People should be asked as much as possible but in emergencies you may have to take and expect balance to occur later.

If you ask, and feed in a controlled manor, you've done no real harm, so I can't see why it would be a conflict. Over-feeding can harm the donor, so best to avoid that. And feeding from an unwilling "victim", so to speak, can be offensive and rude to them. Use courtesy in your practice, and you should be fine as a Wiccan Psychic Vampire.

I think the polite thing to do is to ask before taking from anyone

Do what feels right to you, although as everyone else has said on here, always ask before you take and always be willing to give.

i do not see the conflit in the two I am also wiccan / Vampiric and we should always ask before ever taking from a person or anything, we as wiccan still live by a code as all religions has codes and ours if the main thing... * Harm Ye None *

i always ask first,i also give more than i take.but when i am out in public i tend to draw from the people around me.i try to control it but there are times that i cant.so do i stay away from people?

what a good question I applaud you. But my personal opinion is that there may be a conflict due to the may I say ethics or ways of the witch and vampire. One is more of a giver while the other is that of a taker. There is a mute point to both though as you will find out in your travels

I really do wish that individuals would learn the definitions of certain practices. Even though Wicca has nothing to do with vampirism whether it be psi or sang, energy is always prevailant when working with the two...Wicca and Vamp.

In my opinion, there is only conflict if the practitioner creates it themselves. This being again, either not learning how to use certain methods of practice, or ignorant after learning said practice.

My opinion may seem a bit crass, but it is as such to keep the main point in play. As energy is energy, the manipulation of said that energy is only under conflict when the user is ignorant concerning said energy.

I don't see a conflict. If you a truly a Wiccan and live by the creed... you can be a vampire that lives by it. There are Christian vampires, and all kinds of other religions. Vampirism has always been described as a way of being, not a spirituality.

Hmmm...I used to be Wiccan, and while I am no longer, I still feel very comfortable in Wiccan company. I understand why you might feel conflict, but personally, I see none -- you do not have to harm anyone when taking their energy, if you only take excess energy. In fact, you might do more harm than good by asking first, as they might find it upsetting to know that there are energy feeders in the world, if they are unaware of this. This is not a concept the mundane world is comfortable with. LOL I don't think it's rude not to ask, unless you're talking about someone close to you from whom you feed repeatedly. A one-time thing in a crowd of people is not the same.

You know, there it goes again...With that access energy concept. Frankly there really is no "access" when it comes to energy. It manifests when and where the it is summoned, whether it be from the individual and casting, or on its own. Just don't make me explain the "on its own" feature.

If you ask before you take I would see no harm in that. I really do not know why you can not be both.

I think there would only be conflict if you give but do not return. If your intention was to harm then there would be a conflict.

Other than that we all draw energy from the world around us, the air, the earth, the moon, etc. So you don't always have to draw your energy from another human if you are worried about conflict.

drawing from groups of people does happen but it is not a willful thing you don't have to avoid groups as long as your not willfully drawing from them we all give off energy in daily life if your using that your find if you need more you should ask.

I am Wiccan and I draw my own energy from the Earth. I also draw high energy in a room filled with high energy people. To take energy from someone else is bascially draining that person of their energy. I have been drained physcially and spiritually by people whom are looking for answers in their lives. That to me is a good energy drain for me to help someone else who is in need of helping them work through their own problems. Whatever you take give something in return would be my honest answer.

I dont see any conflict in that at all but I do consider it good taste to ask before feeding off another in any way.

i'm both, and i don't feel like i am harming anyone as i feed off of the earth myself and freely give back as much as i can.

I think all should ask before taking anyones elses ideas its a matter of respect and common sense.

I do both whys thou. I ask for when i feed and to be closer to other. And also take when i first meet people. To get a feel about the person.

Due to your beliefs you should do what is expected of whom you are and ask before you take .

I applaude you on your concern for the rede... And as some of you say yes it is always best to ask first, but speaking out of experience, you can't always ask... sometimes it just happens as a natural thing. The lord and lady know if you are being a dick and are not trying to abide by the rules, but they also know when it is you living and doing what you need to do.

Asking before you take is common courtesy and always will be unless you percieve yourself to relieve someone based on pure selflisness.

Asking before taking is always the best route; however in some cases that benifit is not always available, if you give more than you take I think it evens out in the end.

It also depends your views on your wiccan belives. Yes, there are guidelines and rules but every wiccan interprets them their own way, some more than others.

If you feel in your heart, that there is a conflict, then you should seek a solution. View the problem from outside, meditate.

There is no real reason to choose which you should abide by, but if it is to much of a disturbance in your life, then I suggest you think twice.

Well, have you heard of the Vampire Codex? You should take a look at it, it'll make for a very interesting reading. I'm posting this LINK to their site on the "Basic Feeding" page, it should answer a lot of your questions. (Don't worry, the link is safe. Promise.) Basically it outlines the different methods of "feeding," or in other words, different methods that vampires feed off of energy from people. There are many different ways, consciously and unconsciously are the main ones. Yes, you should ask permission, it's only nice, after all. Sometimes a vampire can feed off energy without actually directing their feeding attention on a particular person, like being the center of attention. I'm also Wiccan and I have never encountered any problems; it's just a matter of balancing beliefs and priorities and always remembering to show the utmost respect and reverence.

I dont practice Wicca and Im not a Vamp,so I cannot really give an in depth opinion.But to see your question the Wiccian saying "harm no one" comes to mind..kindof a contradiction dontchya think?
