Why in the world would a human-born person claim to be a vampire just because they like the taste of blood. Answer me this, will you?
Maybe because they see similarities with vampires and would like to identify with them to give a sense of normality to their actions. To be able to justify that they drink blood but cannot help it.
i don't think it has all that much to do with blood. i think it's a matter of lifestyle and ideals and choice. vampires today aren't particularly the blood sucking corpse they once were and the people that call themselves vampires are mostly what people call psychic vampires. so it's a matter of wanting to live like a vampire
that's true, people always want to live longer than they think they will so that would be a pretty appealing aspect of vampirism
I think so beacuse of my unsatable vampiric nature.
Thats how I feel in my heart, like a vampire.
IF.............IF truly, it was possible......
I would be a vampyre..
I have many traits of one anywaybut being realistic, we are human..
And some species we are too....
killing each other ...harming animals...
~~disgusted look~~
I think people who are identifying themselves with Vampires think it makes them more interesting. It has deffinately something to do with lifestyle and ideas.
The liking or facination with blood is not something well seen in society so we need someone or something to identify ourselves with, and vampires seems like a natural choise for most.
There are some though, I have seen one to many on here, who claims to be vampires like those in Anne Rice books. This is of course BS made up by people with no lives.
There is no such thing as an immortal vampire.
I'm not sure we should say that they have no life. Probably they are just confused and have an overactive imagination.
I've never seen myself as a vamp but I've always had a relationship with them. There's something about them that I can always relate to, and that makes me feel at peace. It might sound corny but it's true. It's why I've always loved them. I don't think I'll ever not like them. They're like a second home to me.
Those who claim to be real vampires and must survive off of blood are merely trying to be something more exciting than they are. They feel that just being a human isn't special enough, we all want to be unique, some people take it too far.
On the other hand, some people enjoy or feel at home with the Vampire "lifestyle". They don't believe they're vampires, they get labeled as such because they drink some blood, they feed on energy...But really, these are all very human traits whether or not people want to admit it.
I suppose its for people that lack...character.
Think about it, alot of people (including myself) percive the vampire legend as a superior race.
If your going nowhere in your life, or are under alot of stress due to the never ending twists and turns of life, wouldnt you crave to be superior in some form?
And maybe even go as far to drink blood?
The human mind is such an interesting thing. It trick's itself into beleiving things.
I don't think I am a blood sucking vampire but I do feed off others energy so I have similarities to vampires.
LoL I'd sooner have a cold beer ;P
For those who truly believe that they are ‘real’ vampires, there is always the possibility that they are experiencing and exhibiting ‘delusions of grandeur’. Unfortunately this also raises the question of poor mental health :(
I think for some people, they have gotten so caught up in the hype of what they hear & see of vampires that they start to see themselves as one as well.
well, i know some people who swear they are real vampires and they have no mental issues, they're actually some of the more together people i know. so no, i don't think that mental issues have anything to do with it
It doesn't have anything to do with blood? Right. Thats like saying cows have nothing to do with grass.
firt we dont all drink blood, there are those of us who drink others energy. why do i think i am one, because i draw others energy. i can be kind and take a little, or i can be cruel and take alot. either way i am still drinking in their energy. there fore i am an energy vampire
I think the term we are looking for here is "jaded". The mentality one takes on after they have been involved with roleplay such as the "masquerade" of the 90's. Once the individual has the mindset of any character partaining to said "masquerade", the personality seems to take on a mind of its own. Enough to where the individual in a sense cannot discern fantasy from reality.
Because they're in love with the idea that vampires could possibly exist.
@OP: I usually prefer not to say who or what I am, as in doing so would have consequences on what I can and cannot do.
I do enjoy the taste of blood, but only my own. Specifically, white cell plasma, the very essence of defense and understanding. Aside from a deviated septum, which essentially requires constant cleaning, I induce nosebleeds on a regular basis when nobody else is around. Thus, nobody is the wiser, and I can enjoy myself without others wanting to either interact or interfere.
In this sense, I cannot claim to be a vampire, even though I may mimic certain qualities thereof. And that's not to say that I'm not physically human. I openly admit to this fact. However, beyond physical is where that similarity comes to a grinding halt.
Given enough time, though, anything can be copied. Anything.
Drinking your own bodily fluids...Man, thats just discusting. As well as completely irrational behavior.
Talk about Renfields Sydrome...
@ Soulshroud: That's not an actual medical term. However, I do suffer from Porphyria, and that is medically documented and verified.
Now, if you want to talk about disgusting, let's discuss the exchange of bodily fluids between people. The idea of blood donation to me is rather revolting. I would rather have my own blood drawn and later use it if I need it.
Sex... meh... we have to get our jollies some way or another.
Low level fecal and urine contamination of the water supply and food. This can't be avoided altogether, which is why I eat large quantities of things rich in copper, zinc, iron, vitamin C. I also eat a lot of spicy foods, along with the more pungent varieties of onions and garlic.
I do not consider myself to be a vampire of any kind. I simply admire the lore and sensuality that surrounds it.
I think everyone is a vampire, but i don't mean in a hollywood, drinking blood emo way.
I believe that we all drain the life out of something, whether it is another person, or a situation.
I believe that finding out about the reasoning behind that is important for future survival
everyone lives in a fantasy. society is not natural, but a concept created by people. money does not really exist - it is no more than a theory. it only has a perceived value -and outside of the small society where people believe in it, it is worthles.
all societies and sub-cultures are a fiction, a fantasy. life insurace will not prevent your death, a court of law will not protect you from muggers, rapists, and thieves.
So vampire sub-cultures are a fantasy - in other words, no diffferent from any other walk of life
People in general wish to belong to something. Vampirism is the 'newest' fad for most of them. There are some people who believe they 'need' to feed from blood, energy or whatever. Those who feel the need to 'feed' may or may not have any mental issues.
But from talking to people who claim to be "real" vampires, some of them believe that they are the next "evolution" of the human species.
Entertaining at best and nothing but a Dear Abbey question to say the least. I'll have that cold beer. Thanks.
