I Find If I tell people anything even A little They Most always get the wrong impression

I did one time over a decade ago and it was a big mistake and indirectly lost my job because of it. I would never tell anybody that you work with or for what you are unless the person is a personal friend outside of work.

I was sang for a while and let someone know about it, that I trusted. It proved to be a vast mistake of epic proportions at work for me, as well.
The word spread quickly and then the ridicule began.

I think that there are always difficulties when telling your staff anything personal; although they like to know something about it, what they know affects on what level they can interact with you. If you are considering your staff as a food source, I'd say go ahead... tell them, but teh ramifications are akin to harrasment, even more so because of fear brought on by ignorance.

I have talked with a few of my staff in general about a variety of taboo subjects, but I have not outright said that I am a Psy or Sangue... anyone with intelligence of any sort would be able to make the inference that I have a more than passing interest in both, however they could also come to the conclusion that I am a cannibal. *smirk*

I didn't lose my job, but it became the random jab for everyone at work.

People were doing stupid stuff like pouring out ketchup packets and saying "Oh I am sorry Vlad...I didn't mean to make you hungry"...LMAO :)

As always, I take into a repetitious answer. Since New Orleans is home to the aquanted darker side of life, we are all welcome to such diverse atmosphere. Personally, I could give a bloody hell as to what others think about me as anything from persona, genetics or fantastical characteristics.

psi as well as sang are just a stereotypical twist to the term "vampire". Why not just leave it this way? Why is society always bowing down to the beliefs of the supposed "black veil" following? Simple nonesense if you as me.

My answer to this thread? Simply put, no...No individual around me gives off a vibe of being taken aback by my apparent vampiristic qualities. Physical or other.

Friends as well as family are very open minded...Simple strangers see it as a welcome site when all monotany is relinquished for a breath of fresh air in their immediate surroundings.

To my environment it's obvious that I have a thing with the vampires.. And I have admited to certain people "I occasionally taste blood", they might joke about it but I don't mind at all..

I am the boss, thus I set the rules, nonetheless, my lifestyle is private and sacred, so discretion is the rule. We must have jobs like everyone else, so I choose to remain in the shadows... for now...!

Normally no I don't share information on my beliefs with my co-workers. Definitely not the job I am at now. The job before this one, well I didn’t come out & say, “I’m a witch, or vampire”, but I was more open with them. In the process of disclosing just enough, I was able to determine that there were at least two practicing Wicca’s, who I ended up making great friendships with. The friends I made there were the ones that created my nickname, which I use as my screen name. The job I have now is to professional, so I will probably never open up to the people there.

The more of your personal life u keep out of work the better. u go to work to do a job and not socialize

Nope. I do not have the need to tell people what I am and what I believe in. The people who needs to know will know if they are ready for it.

In my opinion; If you are one of those who feel like wearing a big neon sign proclaiming you drink blood like them coolies vampires, then you are more in it for the attention and need to be interesting than the lifestyle itself.

Online is a different matter, you can post all sorts of things and little secrets, and the persons offline will not know a thing.

well, since i know that a good majority of the people i work with are really narrow minded i don't really feel the need to tell them what i am. i know that if they start judging me i'll get pissed off and i don't want to lose my job because of idiots. i only tell the people whom i trust, because i know that they'll appreciate me for me and not for whatever they think i am.

Most of the people are so closed minded and judgmental so it is not worth telling them. Private life is just that private.

Most of the people I work with know simply that I have a fascination with vampires, but I would never truly tell them of my second life. I think they would be all too fast to judge me, and think I am a little odd.

Don't work, but family knows about it. Some of my friends that known for a long time know. Meeting new people probably wouldn't bring it up for never know how they gonna react to it. Most the time they find out on their own without me telling them go figure lol.

I think something like that, depending on the type of work you do and the people you work with, could interfere with your job security.
I personally am not nor do I claim to be a vampire in any form but if I were, this is not something I would discuss with co-workers.

I don't tell people i work with till i read them and wait to see if how they would react, i try not to tell people that would freak out .

I only tell close friends, people online, and donors.

When I was able to work there was one person I told. It did not work out so well. So if I ever work again I will not tell anyone I work with. It's just not their business.

That's the best way to go...just to avoid the ridicule that you would most likely have to endure.

I guess it depends on the people you work with. At my first job, I met a guy that didn't make it a secret that he enjoyed blood. It didn't bother me or the co-workers too much because we liked him anyway. Later we became lovers but i never shared any of mine with him. ^^

I don`t work but, I have threw out some hints to a friend of mine and he never got it or was able to put it together. He reminds me of a Renfield. LOL seriously. I had one chess buddy notice my fangs and I changed the subject and talked about having him help me out with chess an learning so cool parterns to work with.

I really dont know how my co-workers would react. I wore the fangs and contacts for halloween this past October and got mixed reactions.
Some people, oddly enough thought it fit me quite well lol.
Some would be immature about it but some would just say "ok if thats what you're into".
I personally feel that some things are for work and some things are for me. These are one of those things that are for me and those like me.

I have mentioned in passing to one person at work that I've tasted anothers blood, but I haven't let on to what extent. My wrestling coach is aware that my partner and myself...well lets just say the vampire persona we wrestle under isn't just a gimmick! but he never brings it up.

I don't actually let people feel who I am... how else can I steal their energy and soul? The ones who know or have a feeling about my true entity stay away or learn how to protect themselves...

No. They are just pure mortal human being. My knowledge of the unknown, is for them, unknown. Mean, people always like to twist any situation for the worse. If you say that you are a wiccan, thay will say, you worship satan. For this reason, I keep my personal life private.
