Many of us here practice many things. Do you prefer to make your own spells or find help in others spells?


Myself i prefer to make my own spells and things i use for my work

In all honesty, once I actually knew what I was doing while practicing magick, I never touched spells written by someone else. I write my own and I'm so thankful I started doing that early on in my practice.

They are all just barrowed words bruised by the act of living.

Making your own spell I think

Personalization and Intention: Making your own spell allows you to tailor it specifically to your needs, desires, and intentions. You have the freedom to incorporate symbols, words, and actions that resonate deeply with you. This personal touch can enhance the connection and focus you have during the spellcasting process.

Making your own, imo, is always more effective than using one prepared by someone else. Just make sure you thoroughly research anything you intend to use so you avoid any unwanted effects

Making my own. Though sometimes I will be inspired by someone elses spell loosely, I change things around and make it my own when I am.

It depends on you are practicing (traditional) magic or magick (chaos magick).

If your are doing traditional magic you should do exactly the spell you are reading and, because of your subconscious, it will only work if you do as best as possible.

But, if you have been succeeded in leaving traditions (and that's not easy) and embrace a really chaos magic, then: congratulations! you can do your own spells.

Book spells can be pretty good if you work them with enough intention and energy, but I definitely think almost no one follows a book spell to a T. We all put our own spin on it, whether we use different tools because we don't have the ones listed or doing it on a different moon phase because we can't wait for the right conditions. The books can give us inspiration and a good base to build from, but I think any spell is way more affective when we personalize it.

I like making my own spells. I feel that they work much better!

I believe we conjure within words we speak and convey.

I lean towards crafting my own workings. Personalization lets intention flow more naturally. That said, studying others' work provides valuable foundations and different perspectives to build from.

Dust of the Earth, Return flesh to bones, Reuniting body to spirit, I command thee Belial come unto me in this magic circle.

WELCOME Spirit, O most noble king! I say thou art welcome unto me, because I have called thee through Him who has created Heaven, and Earth, and Hell, and all that is in them contained, and because also thou hast obeyed. By that same power by the which I have called thee forth, I bind thee, that thou remain affably and visibly here before this Circle (or before this Circle and in this triangle) so constant and so long as I shall have occasion for thy presence; and not to depart without my license until thou hast duly and faithfully performed my will without any falsity.

THEN standing in the midst of the Circle, thou shall stretch forth thine hand in a gesture of command and say:

Then let the exorcist state his desires and requests.

And when the evocation is finished thou shalt license the Spirit to depart thus:

O THOU Spirit, because thou hast-diligently answered unto my, demands, and hast been very ready and willing to come at my call, I do here license thee to depart unto thy proper place; without causing harm or danger unto man or beast. Depart, then, I say, and be thou very ready to come at my call, being duly exorcised and conjured by the sacred rites of magic. I charge thee to withdraw peaceably and quietly, and the peace of the Gods of Darkness, Satanic Hierarchy, Demons and Angels be ever continued between thee and me.

AFTER thou hast given the Spirit license to depart, thou art not to go out of the circle until he or they be gone, and until thou shalt have made prayers and rendered thanks unto the Gods of Darkness, Satanic Hierarchy, Demons and Angels for the great blessings They hath bestowed upon thee in granting thy desires, and delivering thee from all the malice of the my enemies.
