Again with the coming outright and stating ones point of view.
There is an overwhelming need to identify with one force or a movement through the medium of something. We all do it for what ever reason. But shall we for the sake of this discussion examine what it is about those things which are in us and we feel the need to identify with such things openly?
Be you pagan, vampire, sang, psi, wicca, shaman, satanist, etc. Hindu, Buddhist, professional business person, hooker, theif, liar, and what have you.
You all identify with one thing or another, its these labels which give us point of reference. So do you feel the things which identify you are the best things for you to be identified with? That you are who you are in every moment because of what you identify as? or identified by?
Is who you are your day to day who you want to be? who you chose to be for the sake of your identification? or do you seek to identify as an individual who does things because it suits them? and if thats the case why do you feel the need to belong to such societies and underground cultures that you do? Proclaiming what it is "yours" to proclaim simply because it is yours to do so. Conversion to one view over another instead of an inclusion of your personality with it?
All things being judged when no one has the right? How do you identify? why do you feel and think the way you do? why have you felt the need to become who you are? Is it because of the things you go through? or is it because of the environment to which you have become accustomed?
I am not certain as to who or what I identify my self as yet, but I think that the things we go through in life and our surroundings have alot to do with who we become. As for why we feel the need to identify or belong to certain things/groups, maybe it gives us a sense of belonging. If we claim that we are ourselves and individual then maybe that's just someone's way of creating their own identity. Sorry if this wasn't the answer you were looking for.
its good. :) thats the sort of initial dialog to expected.
that we never really can grasp who we are meant to be or are, until we are already that thing which we seek to become.
I have known an evil man who thought he was justified in doing the things he did. That he felt that it was alright for him to commit the crimes he commited. It was through this study of him and his actions that allows for the distinguishing of the ideas that I dont want to be like that. To set him as the measure by which I will not allow myself to develop into.
However as a member of society doing my part to live and create within it, that these things are not what i know i am because of the doing of them. But that through the development of myself into them. Again refering to the other discussion as to the study of these things.
That to study, is to become identified. At least that is the discussion. One must have two sides to the nature of the thing before one can observe the thing equally.
I try not worry about labels they are something clothes need not people but you are right we are label and put in a basket all to common without people getting to know the real us
That's a lot of questions ;)
So do you feel the things which identify you are the best things for you to be identified with? no
That you are who you are in every moment because of what you identify as? or identified by? no and no
Is who you are your day to day who you want to be? no
who you chose to be for the sake of your identification? not really
or do you seek to identify as an individual who does things because it suits them? that would be the preferred option
and if thats the case why do you feel the need to belong to such societies and underground cultures that you do? i don't believe i do belong to any societies or underground cultures. that would denote a sense of belonging and/or kinship, which i don't have
Proclaiming what it is "yours" to proclaim simply because it is yours to do so. Conversion to one view over another instead of an inclusion of your personality with it? self-preservation dictates that the merging of the self with the group is a bad thing. for me, at least
All things being judged when no one has the right? i have no control over what people judge of me or anyone else. in return, i try not to judge myself. note i said "try"
How do you identify? i don't identify
why do you feel and think the way you do? because that is me. that is the sum total of my learned and conditioned responses to experiences
why have you felt the need to become who you are? who i am now is not a need but rather a stumbling path careering from one life defining event to another, usually unrealised
Is it because of the things you go through? partly, yes
or is it because of the environment to which you have become accustomed? again, partly, yes. i'm a believer in both nature and nurture being influences on the sum total of one's existence
Get anything out of that? ;)
identify for myself is still trying to find myself. Do I judge others no. I have seen many aspects of life. I have went through many trails and errors of my life. Do I identify myself with another? At times when I can understand the similar aspects of my life, that they are going through now.
We have a free will, what we chose to do with it, is ours.
It's taken me over 20 years, but thanks to someone elses help, I have found who I am & what I identify myself as. It's a very important process in my eyes.
I am 58, am I mainly identify with myself. I like to explore different viewpoints, cultures, lifestyles, learning is interesting and challenging, why confine myself to a narrow beam of light when the full spectrum is out there to be explored?
well I do not claim any label in my everyday of life that is left for the stores to sell something that is labeled.
I am me and nothing more nothing less I am either taken as I am or not.
Just because someone claims a religion or a certain way of life that they prefer to me does not have to mean that they are labeling themselves. I mean if you say you are wiccan, pagan or vamp etc. Why does it have to mean that your labeling yourself?
To me it is just expression of how you believe or the lifestyle one prefers. I am human and have many faucets in my personality and life .... but I do not considered myself Labeled..
To be open minded and wanting to learn or to teach different beliefs or lifestyles to me is not a Labeling factor. that is for closed minded people in my opinion.
I am happy just to be me... Why does one have to be Labeled for need of Identity?? I find your post very interesting. To be alive and a person to me is idenity in itself, we are all different and that is what makes us unique as individuals not because we have been labeled, yet due to our life and teachings and experiences, etc. that is what makes us whom we are, not because someone wants to label you/ or you label yourself.
To me that is a form of prejudice and seperation of the human race, we are all equal just live differently ..
my view on it is all. not to offend anyone.
any hoo my feeling on the subject.
I do not have a label. I am my own person and I do not judge others for the way they think feel or look. Individuality is a very important thing. If all people were the same then what would be the point of having so many people in the world.
On the other hand it's nice to feel that we belong to some groud. No person is an Island to coin a phrase.
we learn and we adapt till we die then what? does it go with us
