I was watching with my kids ghost trackers, basically it is kids doing what tapps does… with a self recording set up (looks cheap).
I don’t think ghost would have trouble contacting with the kids as they're more innocent and so easier to get to I thought. Well, I've got to say it was more send a poor kid into a haunted looking house and watch them lose there minds lol
Do you think this program does justice to the fine art of ghost tracking?
Will they (in this show) ever get a true event like tapps does?
I believe in our youth our gifts and feelings were more open and that they can see, smell, and talk to ghosts that we cant see. I think when we start growing up that society tell us that these gifts are fibs, lies, and fabracation so we give them up. In short yes i do believe children can see ghosts and track them.
durning my studies on the paranormal. i have read that children are easier targets for ghosts because of there innocence and becuase they are more simpler than adults.
I think they just might. The younger crowd is much more in tune with the paranormal, and supposedly the paranormal are more attracted to those of young age.
I haven't seen the show but most children haven't had the chance to be as skeptical as some adults are. They usually believe in things until we adults tell them they are not real or they are just imagining it. Or they do have a great imagination...and they are making it up.
Children if trained properly or are given the chance to remain open are more likely to see and hear what a closed minded adult cannot. But it can also be more dangerous for a child because the are more vulnerable to what ever it may be out there for them to see or hear.
the younger gen can see more spirits then the older cause there mind is more free from laws that we have
the young can see them cuz now a days paranormal is more open to discuss and they are more open minds to it..
We all can see the dead but as we get older society tells us we are not to.Children have not been hit with ideology that the only things we are to see is what society imprints on us.
Some how my children and I have escaped the loop and i listen to my children when they say mom charlie says hello.
Just because i can not always see who they are talking to I feel them and acknowledge it.We have no imaginary friends here all are welcome because when the kids speak they see.
i think that if the children are willing to do it then let them.. Most children are far more sensitive and if they are allowed to expand those gift can become amazing.. I have NEVER made my boys stop seeing what they tell me they see.. My oldest is highly sensitive.. Now he is NOT ready to do a haunted house.. He is only 6. But i think that if there ready and willing they should be alowd just trained proper first..
I think children and ghost tracking is more clever because of the fact that, yes, like you said, because of their innocence and willingness to believe and understand.
It is more clever but the kid gets scared to death. They might be able to if a kid wouldn't freak out.
i am a ghost tracker on my free time and iv seen many thing and gone on many calls but i would never send a littel kide in to a place like that not only are they more open to ghost if there is some kind off demon or evil in the place they enter they are to young to know what it is and it leaves them open to be taken over by demon or evil what ever it may be because thay cant say you are evil and leave me alone all they now is it acks nice to me and want to talk to me and lets it get close to them and after it takes over there no tell what harm it can case because they cant cut it off link with this thing do to the fact that they do not have the power to know whats going on or that its wrong for it to be there its to much danger for the kide and sould not be done no matter what!!!
I think children are so innoscent that they can see what we might not be able too.. I love that show taps.. i just wait in anticipation to see what they might find..
I think that if you want a real event than you can not freak the kid out first. I think children do react to a lot of things but you can never really know what those things are if the child knows you are waiting for them to react to something.
I am sure the show probably gets the interest of the teen audience due to the age of the cast, entertainment and scare factor and subject matter. It might influence a younger individual enough to develop and interest in the paranormal and start to get involved in Ghosthunting.
Ghost Trackers seems to be geared towards developing interest and skills of teen hunters and rating of performances. I do not see it comparing in any way to the serious and professional manner that T.A.P.S. does its research, investigations, and collection of evidence for proof or disproof of paranormal activity.
yes totally, children are moe open then we are. We have several Para- Trackers here where I live and lots of great haunts all over WNY
Personally i dont think any tv shows do them any justice as there are so many thing you can rigg and set up,
I would find that entertaining, yet they fail to even do that to spice up the now "horse beat dead" theme..
I believe the younger you are the more suseptable you are to interacting with ghosts due to the brain path ways are more open the younger you are.
I have seen this show and I think they could have a start with something. but then again think at how bad these kids could get scared. Will they be in therapy for the rest of there lives?
I believe our youth have a very open mind they havent had the chance for their minds to be corrupt by years of being told cant happen not true. I think this is a reason why kids seem to have this bond with ghost and other like things.
As with everything it will take time for the human race to come up with an idea that can track or do something which has not been able to be done before. I think there is someone out there who has the ability to design some sort of means to track ghost.
Do I think this program does justice to the fine art of ghost tracking?
Absolutely!
It gives it all the merit it has earned for itself. At present (to the best of my knowledge), that's a sum-total of zero. That being the case, it would be difficult to rob it of any degree of justice.
I'm not sure where people get the idea that children are innocent. I suppose this is an evolutionary adaptation which helps to instill the desire to provide our young with absolute protection -- even to the forfeiture of our own lives. Despite such an emotionalistic view of children, they're anything but innocent. Never in the entire expanse of a human life are we any less innocent or less self-centered than when we are children.
That said, it's true that children are less prone to accepting only the credibly supportable concepts we encounter every day. Most believe in Santa Claus for a number of years. Some believe in the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy. As such, it's to be completely expected that they might also believe in ghosts.
But that's one of the reasons we don't, and shouldn't, turn to children to gain enlightenment concerning reality. A child's eyes work the same way as the eyes of an adult. Photons strike the rods and cones on the retina and stimulate chemical responses which travel as signals along the optic nerve to the visual cortex of the brain. The only suggestion which might provide some hope that children see ghosts while adults don't would be the idea that adults use their minds to filter out that which they don't believe. And yet we remain, despite belief in ghosts/spirits which dates back tens of thousands of years, without a single verifiable shred of evidence to suggest that children simply have a more active imagination and less desire to maintain credibility among their peers than do adults.
To believe in ghosts, to me, is akin to believing in fairies, Leprechauns, gremlins, gods, goblins, mermaids and unicorns. All are suggested, at one level or another, to exist. And yet there remains no evidence to support the idea that any of them exist. Perhaps the most important thing to note is that the concept of all of these entities arose from a time of far greater ignorance, from the minds and imaginations of relatively primitive ancient cultures. The more we learn about reality, the less credibility any of these superstitions hold. We can learn from our mistakes of the past or we can continue to repeat them.
Sorry, that should have read "MORE self-centered then when we are children."
I agree with most of the people here in saying that I believe it's possible...Children have much more open minds, maybe that's why children seem to be more likely to see ghosts...
Or maybe we all see them just as much, or are presented with the same opportunities, but write it off quickly, rationalizing it.
I would say they may have an easier time based solely one their age. Although you would need to have the experience to know what to listen for.
Does anyone know of any verifiable instance where children, via their less restricted conceptual thought, have arrived at confirmed conclusions totally missed by adults?
Or is it all unsupported conjecture?
I think as kids ghosts will find it easier to conact kids
I think kids see them more as they are more opened minded
More open minded, I hear this phrase "Open Minded" I hear phrases such as "Those that don't believe in paranormal activity are in denial.." No that is insulting.. it is akin to saying you don't except God .. you have a hardened heart.. and you are going to hell.. that degree of raising yourself above others..claiming enlightenment over those that are not as acceptant of fad sensationalism.. It is a Reality show exploitation.. it is produced for entertainment.. to spike peoples imagination.. people throw attachments at such things. I think adults envy the creativity of children.. I also have case studies of children that have made impressionable adults believe a hoax.
See, the thing about it being on TV, you can't tell if the sounds they are hearing are real or if the sounds are being made by someone from the cast or something like that.
I don't ever really watch those shows for that reason.
I would rather just go there and see for myself!
-Juggalette givin MMFWCL
i agree with Juggalita.
i don't think it is real. i would rather go in and find it out for myself
I couldn't agree with dabbler any more. He's nailed it!
When people accept any idea as true, they're rarely accepting of credible evidence and logic which demonstrates the idea to be false. Instead they employ something akin to religious faith, which, upon examination, is little more than the practice of dismissing logic, reason and evidence the moment they fail to support your desired beliefs.
Ghosts have as much potential to exist as do gremlins, goblins, Leprechauns, gods, unicorns, mermaids, angels, spirits, demons or the Flying Spaghetti Monster. No one can absolutely rule out any of these things, yet the likelihood that any actually exist is so minuscule as to present zero reasonable potential.
Unfortunately, because many WANT to believe in angels, ghosts and spirits, they'll quickly turn their back on the same lack of supporting evidence which convinces them that Leprechauns, mermaids and the tooth-fairy don't exist. It's an obvious double-standard designed to server their desires rather than their grasp of reality.
So rather than take the evidence to heart, they turn to the imagination and impressionable minds of children as their escape route. When we want to know the distance to the sun, we turn to the evidence. We don't ask a child. When we want to know the density of water relative to air, we turn to evidence gathered via measuring instruments, we don't turn to children. When we want to know any truth about reality, we should look to the evidence provided by that reality rather than the highly subjective, impressionable and imaginative minds of children. Many research projects, wrongful prosecutions and psychological studies have shown that children will more likely accept what they're told than what their senses actually tell them. They should be learning from us and we should be teaching them to trust the evidence over authority, logic over superstition and reason above faith practices.

I don't know who in their right mind would send a child into places like that...
i think that' why there are able to see and hear things we can't.
Can they?
Is there any verifiable evidence that children can hear and see things adults can't? Or is this just wishful thinking?
I Think
!. Yes Kids Can Be Open More To Paranormal Events Then Adults.
2. Using Kids Rather Than Equipment Is Cheaper
But I Also Think It's Wrong To Use Children To Boost Your Network Ratings.
i agree with lord sesshoumaru i think that
children we are more open
and it is cheaper
but i do think its wrong
(but i wouldnt mind it, but im different than most)
Shall I ask again?
Is there any actual evidence which suggests that children can see, hear or in any credible way, actually sense things adults can't?
As far as I know, there is nothing to support such a view. And a view without support is, at times, more accurately stated "fallacy".
Children are more open to the idea of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, monsters in the closet and "real" cartoon characters (like the people in suits at Disneyland). Adults pretty generally accept that these things are not real, but simply the infatuations of childhood and a less mature cognitive process.
Why is it that we can all recognize this yet when it comes to wanting to believe in that for which there is zero credible evidence, suddenly we turn to such childish gullibility and try to paint it as some form of enlightenment?
The open mind cliche.. how is an open mind (mental cognition) related to spiritual awareness? An open mind needs a screen door, to prevent clutter. I have never seen the show, I do know that the show came out in context of a surge in such programs, What about a show that follows kids that debunk urban legends? How about a show that documents kids with exceptional academic talent? How about a show that helps disturbed families (haunted) correct the feeding of subtle release of frustration (scommonly referred to as poltergeist.. A child can pick things up in a strangers house.. subtle things like aggravated, or unsettled tensions, things that fuel impulsive subtle activity. Children here what adults cue them to hear. What are the age ranges of the children on this show? Some children (early teens) will take a role, and go with it.. under coaching from producers.. just watch any "reality" show.
i believe the same thing as you. children are much more gifted then adults are. however, the problem is they also lack the maturity to handle scary situations and ghost hunting can be dangerous. its not something i'd put my children at risk for.
I doubt they'll make it very far, unless its scripted.
I see that this is your belief, autumngallows.
My question is; do you have any basis for that belief? Is there any evidence you can present which suggests your belief to be correct or do you hold this stance purely on faith?
I ask this noting that beliefs of faith are almost always incorrect. That which cannot be held on evidence is usually not worth holding.
