If you die and are brought back to life by medical technologies, is it possible to have another soul re-enter your body instead of your own soul ?

Awesome question...I think depending on how far and/or how long you were "gone" may make a difference. Or possibly, depending on if your soul was going Up or Down you may "catch" another soul.
This is just my opinion

The physical form has not changed, just the consciousness form has changed. Another soul possess your body because of your death.

I think it is very possible and not only that but to bring what i like to call a hitchhiker.A soul that latched on to you.And some thought of a haunting or you being haunted.

When I read this forum, I was automatically brought back to a time I had a conversation with my mom about astral projection. She had stated and this is her opinion on the matter, "that people shouldn't do it because another soul could re-enter the body that one has left behind." So if this can happen, not implying that it can, but if it could, I imagine that yes another wandering soul could re-enter.

ooo, that is a odd thing to think about...kind of gives me the chills. I don't think it sounds like a very good idea, interesting, but not good.

I believe that a body can only take in one soul.... I dont think other souls are compatible with your body other than your soul.

I believe that is possible yes. For instance you were reluctent to go back another dies right next to you and definately wants to live perhaps they might steal your body if they know how.

My feeling is our Souls are tough enough ( for want of a better expression ) to deal with something like that.

I have read this book. It tells of people exchanging bodies when one is ill or near death.

If anything it is a interesting read on this subject and others.

As I picture a soul, being the characteristics of the person that "grew up" with the body, then no I would think not. I could imagine a good book being based on such a topic though. How awkward the new tenant would be, the new occupant would need a working knowledge of the former tenant though.

I would think if something like that were to happen, the differences in personality and such would become evident relatively quickly.

That being said, I would say the current soul (vs. the invading soul) would have the "home court advantage". So unless the current soul WANTED to vacate for some reason, it would most likely be able to dislodge the intruder and regain control.

Good question. I'd say if the thread connecting the soul to the body had been completely severed, then it would be possible for another soul to beat you to your body.

Hmm, I guess that's possible. Probably unlikely though, you'd think that our soul would only want to go into one body...
Or maybe our bodies are like locks and our souls are like keys?

It rather sounds like possesion and there are several convincing stories about those. So I'd say yeah it could happen. the likelihood would be the same as being struck by lightening but it could happen.

Wonderful question. I don't think so, my belief is that soul "imprints" on the body in some way.

Hmmm, I think that that would be possible. The soul could be replaced by another if the thread is severed like Raveneyes said. I would also think that it would be possible if one is astral traveling as well.

A soul taken your body plasable yet very hard to comprhend. if your soul would leave another soul took its place would your soul pass. for two objects could not be in one spot. so two souls may not in my opinion be in one body. and would your soul try to regain possesion for it dies. another question to ponder would we our body conform to the new soul so our firends and family would not know us, the soul would infact hold its own memories of life and know only what it has lived with, so not knowing your family and work?

I would say no for the same soul returning. In death, a soul is released. I don't think people have the power to drag that soul back once the universe has already had its say.

If that is possible it might be a scary thought for some as you would probably be able to know all the pain and suffering that the other soul you inherit has gone through and now will be sharing their pain.
It might make some a different person than they are which in some cases that might be a good thing.

You're right. It would have to be terribly hard for them to be soul singers, or even cook soul food.

I really don't know though. In 'Flatliners', the people died and came right back... who knows ;)

I would figure the gig would be up quick though, some people would hardly notice the difference, especially those that have limited routine interaction with their friends.

Only if the two souls agree to this. One is dying & mission is complete. But the other soul died b/4 their mission /something was left undone. A wish to go back & finish this one thing. Ever notice someone lives and should be dead and another short period of time they die all of a sudden. Only here to finish what was started.

If that was possibly, it wouldn't be you it would be someone else because it would be someone elses spirit. In other cases it would be possession.

interesting subject I think this also goes back to the whole astral projection technique that many experiment with when your experimenting it's absolutly necessary that you take precaution b/c it is very possible for other things to get into your body once you have left your body b/c once something is in your body it takes alot for you to sorta reclaim your body so I think tha tsame principles apply with this it's not comon but I think it is possible not that a soul gets in but a spirit b/c what do stuck spirits who can't move on long for? they long to be among the living once again and will do anything to acheive this right?

Yes, that is what I was talking about in my thread, WALK-INS. Your soul makes an arrangement to trade with a soul on the other side that wants to come back, but not necessarily start as an infant.

I have also considered the epidemic of Identity theft, and the extremes that the people who assume Identities are going, a person turning up in Russia that has never left the United States, that is a soul high jacking. This comes to the question I have pondered in a simular thread, what benifit a person that "steals", or obtains, another persons soul. Or possession of a anothers body? There would no doubt be an awckward settling in, I could imagine, there would be a megrance of latenent memories and such to the "invader" as well.

i think that if a person is almost brain dead but then comes back from the brink of death then there maybe a possibility that some level of brain damage could happen which would change the personality so the behaviour would be different which could be interperated as a different soul in the body?

I think when you die... it is just a body that is left. so yes i think other souls can re-enter....

Oh wow, you have brought up a very interesting topic! I would imagine that your own soul would come back. It just might be slightly altered because of the energies and possible chemicals that were used to bring you back after you died.

Then there are people who hang around hospitals and read the charts of terminal patients, then they hack their ID and their credit into the ground.
