The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

Not sure if this is a Vamp movie, were, or a DR/MR movie...but any horror buff might be able to help...way back when I was in 6th grade (around 81-82) they showed us a black and white movie in school that had to do with one of these charcaters...in the movie it was found that the "monster" was attracted to it's prey (women) by a certain sented perfum made by a crazy scientest (sp?). I don't remember much else from the movie, other then that...I know it's not a lot to go on, but I was hoping that maybe someone out there might have a clue as to what i was talking about....

The only thing that rings a bell on that for me was a book (I have no idea whether it was ever made into a movie) called Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, by Patrick Suskind.

I've copied the back of the book description below. Maybe this is what you are looking for, maybe it's not. I hope it helps, at any rate.

I have actually read this book, but this wasn't it. I don't know if this movie ever was a book, or what it was. It is something that has always stayed in my mind, because even then I thought it rather odd (especially back then in the early 80's) they would show it to a bunch of 6th graders. I wish that I had a little more information to give to make this easier. Too bad I don't know the answer myself, it would be a good Trivia question (that is if i ever got one right to be able to ask my own) LOL

Ok, dellamore, I have looked and looked, but I'm not seeing anything like what I asked about, if it's there 'Please Help!' I'm obsessed now....gggrrr I hate that...but here's what she told me that maybe might spark someone elses memory, or be able to help. Dellamore said that she'd seen it before, and that it had something to do with Midnight Movies and H.P. Lovecraft. I've Jeeved it and googled it, but not finding it, unless I'm looking in the wrong places...let me know, i look forward to your post :^)
