I do have a few questions.

No. 1:

Say someone pays for 1 year of Premium membership, and something unfortunate or inopportune occurs and you have to close the site in, say, 3 months after they have paid.

Will you reimburse the 9 month portion?

If not, I think it should be stated up front, so there are fewer legal hassles.

No. 2:

Are there reasons (and if so, what are they) a Premium Member could be summarily stripped, with or without refund, of his or her Premium Membership? Say, obnoxious forum spamming REPEATEDLY or being crude etc. (uninvited) at another site resident? Something like those, simply as examples.

I think I'll let my questions stop there for now.

At the moment I am working on an additional FAQ for Premium Memberships. Both of these questions are handled, but let me briefly answer:

1. No refunds for site closure. I state this because VR will only close due to acts of God, and in this case a refund is not applicable. If you've been here a little while you understand this about me. And Premium Memberships are not really for newbies anyway. They're for members who have been here a while and want to support VR.

2. Premium Memberships will not be stripped prior to expiration. User suspensions are a separate matter. I find it highly unlikely that this will come up, but if it does and a suspension occurs, the length of the Premium Membership will be extended in equal proportion to the suspension.

I hope to have the Premium FAQ done within an hour. It mostly covers using Premium features.

Well, I have no doubt to the integrity of the creator of the site. I believe, that if Cancer sells lifetime memberships then the site will go for as long as it lasts. I don't think anyone who would spend their own money buying something they obviously enjoy would take the time to spam or create an annoyance on site. There again, I should think normal rules would apply.. and we all can read the faq sheet.

You buy simply for the pleasure of use, and surely it wouldn't feel the same if you take and do not give... I think Cancer deserves some credit for his time and the sheer hard effort he has put into the site adn that which we all enjoy. :)

I think that $150 is a fair price to pay for a lifetime membership. When you go to otehr sites you pay over for less then what Cancer has offered here.

is there any other way to pay for this membership, because my paypal account has been blocked and i cant re-register my card details to another account.

plus i live in the uk and to send a check wud take to long, plus it might get lost in the mail.

For the memberships payed with credit card via pay pal, will they automatically renew, or will they need to be manually renewed by the members?

I am thinking the answer may be the latter, but I would like confirmation.

There's no recurring billing. That's for porn sites.

I fully intend to have any accounts paid via PayPal set up within 24 hours. Accounts paid via money order will be activated when payment received. Checks will be held for 7 days prior to account activation.

Is there a way to keep the skin from the profile up for the other pages? That you can change the backround on the whole site when you change it on you profile?

But unfortunatly, that would be a major major change.

The few skins I setup only scratch the surface of what you can now do. If you look at my profile, you'll see a different color code, plus embedded music (not a midi file, real music). I plan to embed my webcam right into my profile too.

the internet is packed with music codes for webpages. I justdon't know if they would work on the VR. Some websites provide the codes to songs -- all you have to do is copy and paste them onto your page. I'll look for some sites that have these codes on share it with y'all. I hope they serve useful.

K I have paypal but I cant remember the password (stupid me) but I have checks YAY me :) So I filled it out blah blah .... put the $21 on it and crap then I thought about it a moment .... $21 canadian is 25.79$ US .. k so my fricken stupid question basically is ... if I send this check with $21 on it can it be taken out in US funds? or should I write a new one? (litterally don't write checks here this one is # 009 lol and most have been VOIDS) Anyways if anyone can answer this it'd be cool Thanks :)

Okay, for our International members...

I've just got done working out a deal with my bank to accept foreign checks. It's a laborious process however. My bank can't cash them. They will be sent to a central bank, so the entire process will take an additional week. But it is now an option for you.

The best choice is to always get a check drawn on US funds. I know most banks abroad will do this, but depending upon your own bank it may cost very little, or quite a lot. I also treat foreign US fund checks as money orders, so accounts will be upgraded the same day received.

If you do want to write out a check in your local currency, you'll need to adjust for currency differentials. I know this is a pain in the ass. One of the nice things about PayPal is they do all of this automatically. So let's say you were penalized at birth and born to Canadian parents... And you wanted you pay by Canadian check... You'd have to figure out the exchange and add it in.

If you are within 3% when I cash the check (high or low), I'll call it even. If it's off by more I will adjust the expiration of your account. As an example, if US exchange rates drop and you end up paying $22.00 for a yearly membership (4.5% difference), your membership would expire in 381.4 days instead of 365 ( 365 * 1.045 = 381.4).

This is why math is important ;P

To your question Hawk2k, about music embedding...

Embedding music is a lot like linking to an extra image. It needs to be hosted somewhere else, and then linked to.

ElderDaniel is working on an additional chapter in his Journal that covers music embedding.

I saw the bit about the calendar, just didn't think it was quite what I was implying in my post. lol

Go through the VR store and place an order, select mail in payment. Everything is provided there.

I assume they have money orders in the UK? You can get them at just about any drugstore around here. At the minimum you should be able to buy one at any bank (whether you are a customer or not.. You're exchanging a valuable piece of paper (cash) for a less valuable piece of paper (money order)). Also check your Post Office. US Post Offices offer standard and International money orders.

Ah.. should be no problem there..... And when they ask me who i make the money order payable to? what should i tell them? thanks for clearing that up for me.

To the lot of you who are sending hate messages to me whining about paying for memberships, I have taken absolutely NOTHING away from ANY member. Regular members can still mooch and get things for free. It really pisses me off how some of you think you're entitled to WHATEVER. You're not entitled to anything.

Vampire Rave members who choose to become Premium help defray the costs associated with running this website. That is not a line. For the past 10 months of operation, I have shelled out thousands upon thousands of dollars so YOU can enjoy VR. This doesn't even take into account the man hours I have put into programming this site.

Most of you know this and are appreciative. Then there's the other 5-10% who think I am here to serve them. I am not.

Your time, effort, and money is greatly appreciated. I'm sure the great majority on the VR members are infinitely thankful for all the hard work put into this site.

You can send cash, but it's really not recommended. Post office employees tend to steal envelopes they think contain cash.

You're better off spending $.50 - $1 on a money order.
