::Brujah inspired::
Old subject I know and I know that it's been answered to an extent but basically we all realise that this is a Vampire site and this is respected and most time adhered to.
I understand why certain topics are offlimits (i.e. religion and politics) but every now a neutral thread is subjected and slightly deviates from the general vampire theme but it is closed rather fast I must admit i mean I expect this thread to die soon as it is not a vampire related but am jus saying that having a lil break from the "norm" and talking about something else and is not a nonsense thread would be a decent option that we ourselves are allowed to choose whether we post in it or not.
A general chat is just an open subject chat. People can come in and just talk about anything that is on there mind. It's basically a shoot the breeze room.
Well as I see it everything is general chat just happens to be vampire people doing it yes....
I have seen a lot of non vampire threads that people have gotten a tad bit miffed when I mention things vampyric in ...
C'est la vie
Forum nazi slurpees anyone?
Ok I agree with you most threads are vampiric yes it is a vampire site so i get that and maybe ppl get a lil miffed as you put it when you mention vampyric stuff in none vampyric threads but as you sed C'est la vie but whats with the "Nazi slurpee's" I 've not noticed a dictatorship here as such
things like
"woe is me why are all the good threads the first to go"
"read if you dont have anything productive dont post"
"etc"
well who knows what is productive for me to type or others to read on a subject....
hence forum nazi slurpees!
Hmm yeah, but even then you can get your e-mails intercepted.
besides atleast the #vampires channel seems to have migrated to here instead of chatting on irc
so since i was dragged in
going to type my thoughts as they hit me
they dont make a lot of sense to me so why should they to anyone else ?
But then they might and hence the purpose behind posting.....
There are guidelines as to what can be posted to stop the forum becoming loaded with crap, if a thread has a reason behind it , it is left alone, however if a thread is just asking people what colour pants they have on its closed, would you prefer every second thread to be about sex and who finds who more attractive or would you rather the forum be monitored so the crap is filtered out?
And when it comes down to it if you dont like a thread, dont read it, if you dont like the forum, dont check it, if you dont like the site, dont use it. Its as simple as that.
I am perfectly calm, i was just stating the situation as it is.
Master Vampire Daire
Depression
Love
Life
Seems to me to be threads used so many times as to be just that .... crap
Same thing said across five threads
but different people reading and saying different things
so perhaps something is gained
or perhaps like the colour
of jeans
is wasted space
but to me a thought expressed
is rarely wasted
Have to admit there has been some total shit posted, most of it was probably me. But too many love threads, and depression threads. *yawns* Makes me tired.
indeed there has been some quite bad thread on here sometimes the sandbox threads are quite fun.
I noticed that there are waves of threads. I mean someone posts a thread about, for example, lovely t-shirts with a pictures of a pink bunnies, you can expect a few more threads with a topic that deals with t-shirts or pink bunnies (don't understand this literally)! And there is also a third level syndrome:"O.K. I'm a Shadow now, lets bite everyone and it's time to post a new forum thread!"
...the best thread ever posted is the Vex and CB I hate you because of your decision to close it!!! :)
the only reason i like some threads like VEX is because it allows one to be fun and silly and not so serious all the time. if you're serious ALL of the time, you can't be that great to talk to. However at times, i don't like rp'ing constantly because it takes away the focus and brain testing. I like to have the best of both worlds and i can understand some of the decisions being made about some threads but you have to allow people to discuss different issues otherwise the topics will keep repeating themselves like they are doing now. *shrugs*
I agree with u winglessangel!
I really dont like pointless threads, but who said that all nonvampyric or funny is pointless
there we have it.....broken record syndrome..... personally i'm all for opening the forums to both religion and politics again....but I like a good free for all.....but I do understand the reasons for these rules...it would be better to drop the rude people than the thread topic....but that would be a 24 hour watchdog job that there will not ever be enough admins for...
it's the ideal...but not the possible......
I think we need to try to look at the problem from an admin point of view.....if there is rampant rudeness and flamings going on....send it to the graveyard.....
Ye I agree with you.Ok it's a vampire site, here everyone agrees. But for how many times we are going to see the same stuff again?Sincerely am sick of the same threads. And afterall it's said forum not vampiresonlyforum! So I find it interesting to post threads of any kind,ye why not?I think you know a person more by that and learn a lot of things. As for threads about politics and religions, well those are the most that will attract people and can come up with fights. So maybe that's why they're not allowed. In my case I wouldn't be offended, maybe I'll just learn something.
I agree with alittle of just about everyone in this thread. Having something different to talk about is necessary to keep things fresh, yes? There is a need for a filter, though.
It is hard to tell what would be interesting to one person and not another. I like what Daire said, where there is that option of moving on to another post...and not reading ones that don't pertain to you.
On the comment about love and depression....sure, if you have tons of those threads, it gets dull, but life is made of a great deal of it....along with some great stuff. *smile*
There are alot of different people out there, with different views and tastes...and feelings.
It's the laughter that's keeping us alive. *smile*
no politics or religion
but wait there is a status system
so there is built in politics
and vampirism could be considered a religion of sorts ....
but then arent all threads with a vampire namely us vampire related?
threads repeat because none of us don't go further then 3rd page of thread list and newbies don't know what threads were posted, as I said to HCDami once when she complained that the thread repeats "it's your fault for joining the VR among the first!:)" to whelps all the threads are
new :)
i went back and furtherest back i could find was march ....
atleast that was still open
few of them are back up on page one
 karma god religion
The Status system is a usage indicator. It is not political.
General chats are just people having a general discussion about anything in life, or death . Whatever works for you, than you can have a chat about it.
