Is it normal for humans to fall in love with vampires and live happily ever after, or is this just a myth?
Give me your prospective.
In fiction vampires are very charming, this serves their purpose in attracting
feeding stock.
in my experience vamp/vamp relationships dont work well...we tend to be territorial, and i dont know many vamps that dont see themselves as alphas.
human/vamp relationships seem to work better, but thats just what ive seen.
Seeing that vampires are mortals as well, and every bit as human as any other, relation ships between the two have the same chances as surviving as any other. It all goes back to the individuals involved.
I do beleive that for everything there is a mate, whether it is vampic/ mortal or just mortal/ mortal relationship. the scope of things and how they will work depends on the two involved.
relationships can grow and fold just like any other ! its the individuals who make it work
no well dependcy works both ways for in society one is the stronger and one the weaker(not a good choice word) yet they both look to each other for the compassion or trait better carried by the other.
Right I am going from the humans reasoning, that their is an expectation of supernatural interaction. That .. "I susucced a vampire.." Idealism?
but is this from hollywoods idealism of vampire and their love as potrayed in movies. for before the films vampires and monsters where in fact just that monsters that have no feelings just a craving of blood. mortals being food.
see how that whole This is a vampire, or is it thing really cramps threads..
how about just preempting the post with, this is how i see it from X type vampires.. man I think the retards have won their objective.
I feel as far as any Hollywood notion of falling in love,or having a relationship with a Vampire would centre around the whole immortality aspect, and mans desire for it,as opposed to other things such as culture etc...
Each one offers the other what no one of their own kind can. For the vampire, the human is a succulent swamp of scent, taste, warmth and fluid breath. But more than anything, the human is a test in restraint, a nostalgic foundering. For the human, the vampire is God with a knowledgeable touch and cold genitals, perhaps the ultimate parent.
There's an element of the rescuer on both sides.
Vampires have an omnivorous appetite for difference, thus, humans being the opposite only long for that which they see, but oppose to their core. It is a love hate exchange with emptiness left in the wake.
Now for more of a psychological aspect...
The lady and I get along to an extent. I am a hermit and I night owl, she is a socialite and a daytime individual.
Both our worlds class significantly to where we often times quarrel about not spending enough "quality" time together. Though she does know I am vampire, she lives with it.
The fact being that I am not a lifestyler, but vampire itself. She copes with the way I am. I am a quiet individual, so it helps very much when we talk, I am the listener until I need to make a point.
At times it is hard on her when she does not see me on a regular basis, since I do sleep during the day. This is not a stereotype by any means, it is just the way I am.
All in all, if one can cope with the habitual vampire, then by all means...But, if what was said above bothers the individual, more then likely you may not like being in the relationship with the vampire.
Well, of course. But it really depends on if you're refering to real or hollywood vampyres/vampires. In either case, it can be very difficult for the vampyre to cope with a human mate. Mainly because vampyres are polygamist by nature, we hate restrainment, and most humans wouldn't understand the need of donors or swans.
the path witch i see has come from hollywoods fable of the romantic vampire in society and this is what we tend to lean towards, yet vampire orr mortal as stated not willing to be for one person. that happens in everyday society.
oppisites atract on all walks of life. so why not with mortals an vampires. each houses their own special trait to benifit the other.
Love is funny. You never know what form is love is gonna come in. So why not just subject yourself to what you feel rather than catgorizing species or race.
it is said that love is the strongest force on earth, and many faucets play into this. so yes no matter what it is said to overcome it sahll.
Hollywoods versions have showed us this, in vampire movies. phantom of the opera, beauty and the beast. to name a few
love will concour the beast in all of us.
I'm going to assume you are referring to living vampires and humans. In that case it can actually be a symbiotic relationship of sorts if the human is also the donor. because of the added intimacy that can bring to a relationship it can create a stronger bond between the couple. If the human is not the donor then problems can occur from jealousy. Probably one of the biggest potential problems next to that is whether or not they can compromise on sleeping arrangements. Compromises have to be made in every relationship though. So basically a human/vampire relationship has as good a chance for success or failure as any other especially since living vampires are human too.
I agree with LordWolf. Vampires are alpha. I believe it only works best with Vampire/Human relations. Although it would be hard to find a human to understand your Vampiric ways or You to find a human worth wasting your time with.
"I believe Vampires have a strong seductive quality especially over mortal women.. Making them curious, which leads into desire then passion.. Honest every woman loves a strong romantic type of man. Vampires are romantic yet sadistic in some ways.. Some more sadistic then others.. I also feel that their Intelligence allures Mortals to them as well. They obtain a certain Knowledge that many Mortals can never grasp"
Simply my own opinion..
love has a way of capturing all, and the differences in partners is to accept and understand in which things are with the other, Than time will tell what is to come.
Initially, these relationships are wonderful. The vampire and human are passionately falling for each other. But there comes a time when the human's mortality becomes a factor...
yes it would, immortality is the factor for all, and we must assume this is the fictional vampire of hollywood given with that statement. even as said "living Vampires" are still at times discretion for time is the killer of all.
I think mortal/vampire would have a good relationship, take movie "Twilight" for example Edward and Bella, in the end of the third book they got married. as long as they are compatible with each other because they compromise. Every relationship whether it be mortal and vampire or mortal and mortal the relationship needs three things to keep it going.
1. honesty
2. loyalty to each other
3. Compromise with each other
I am sure there are more but I believe that these three are the most importatnt ingredients for a relationship.
Just my opinion.
Happily ever after, no. But yes, humans fall in love with vampires all the time. Usually, it is not a very mutual thing, if you get my drift. Vampires have this thing about them that they appear better than they are. Many people call them "glamors". Vampires are very attractive to humans. Humans see them as otherworldly and amazing, and fell i love with them.
Many times, the vampire does not feel the same way about the human. Vampires like mind control. If you are unfortunate enough to be in love with a vampire who does not love you back, chances are you are in for loads of trouble. Especially if the vampire likes to play mind games, like most do. Also, if you have no desire to be turned into a vampire, yourself, you may want to avoid the vampire altogether.
Because proper retribution for annoying them seems to be turning the obsessed human. Chances are, after the human's been turned, they'll stop loving the vampire because they can see them for who they really are, and not who they seemed to be when they were looking at them through human eyes.
But, no, vampires and humans can't live happily ever after in love, like that. If the vampire does love the human back, and the human agrees to the "terms of service", if you will, them most likely, the vampire will turn the human, and they will be together in love that way. Intra-species dating never ends well. NEVER.
Im mortal but i think that if a vampire wanted to spend time with a mortal and loved them for what they were, and the mortal was attracted to the vampire then yes i think it could work. Like in every relationship it takes two to make a relationship work and if both are willing then the relationship could work. Not saying it will be a smooth ride, because no relationship is a smooth ride, they all need much work to keep them going.
and you have to have attraction before you can have love....so if both are attracted to eachother and give it a try and they eventually fall in love then yes a vamp/mortal relationship can truly work without a doubt.
o and i have read all the twilights and edward and bella dont get married until the beginning of the fourth book (breaking dawn) they get engaged in the third book (eclipse) ummm........thats all
Of course, if it came down to the mortality getting in the way of this true love; then the mortal would most like become a vampire. This would end the relationship's classification as 'mortal and immortal,' but, as someone who has found true love, I can't see how the vampire would simply let the human die.
no i dont think its wierd at all because my ex was mortal and i am still kinda a lil bit in love w/ him even though i am lesbian so ya
Technically speaking, a feeling can not be a myth.
If you use it as a metaphor, it`s not normal they say: it`s called necrophilia. And it`s even an uncommon kind of necrophilia since the vampires are not really dead but... undead.
Be careful when you choose your partner!
Without offending Hollywood, the love between a Mortal and a Vampire, can not exist, the emotions of both are totally different. Vampire are only attracted to Vampire and the only source of food is Mortal. Vampites do not drink animal blood, so, is impossible to fall in love with a human, which contain the ingredients of Vampire to survive.
If you basing this off the little out look from a certain novel series by Stephenie Meyer. That is extremely far fetched and riddled with myths.
But if you looking it at from a normal point of view. I don't see why not. My personal opinion, I don't date nor am I looking, but I have seen many of kin in love with regular people. There is no reason it shouldn't work out as long as that person is open minded.
Not only was it normal for Human females to fall in love with that partiuclarly unique race of sensually superior males later called "vampires," but in fact when one researches the history we discover that this was their modus operandi, as evidenced well in the actual Slavic accounts:
"The sexual nature of the act is plainly indicated in the following examples. Heinrich von Wlislocki*, in his researches into Roumanian superstitions tells us: ...With young people it (The Nosferat) indulges in sexual orgies until they get ill and die of exhaustion. It often happens that women are impregnated by this creature and bear children**..."
- On the Nightmare, E. Jones, pp. 117-118 (emphasis added)
* a noted Austrian Gypsologist
** if true that women indulged "...until they get ill and die of exhaustion", then how is it they were still alive nine months later to "often...bear children" resulting from such supposedly fatal "sexual orgies"? Hmmm?!
my personal perspective is that gay, straight, bi, etc are rather irrelivant to a vampire. there are vampires and there are prey. if a vamp falls in love with prey, then so be it....it does happen, and in my experience it seems to work better relationship wise than vamp/vamp.
the gay/straight thing in my opinion is an artificial construct.
Love is based on physical, emotional and chemical response of our bodies, thus vampires and mortals both possess these abilities and are capable of the connection.
Well the love is nature's gift to each mammals and i think to every kin and being which have conscious. I do love trees and elements and the match love can be caused in likely minded two person about each other. they come into interaction knows each other and its easy to protect other part or surrender to other part. may it be human, may it be vampire or may it be other animal which is nearby kin. I don't know it all.
I believe love is far more than mental and physical and certainly not as superfical as chemical....... I believe the word implies a spiritual connection.. This connection has no limitations either you may love other lifeforms or elements and the worst thing about the whole thing is you have no control whatsoever.. Love is peace Love is chaos.. I think humans are naturally drawn to vampyres out of fascination, curiostity, take your pick... And a vampyre/human relationship out of Love or necessity can be very fruitful and satisfying provided we are talking about a stong willed human..
