i have to do an essay on all the differences i can find between zombies and vampires... so i was just wondering if you guys can help me....
what are differences betweeen zombies and vampires?????????????????

Zombies are living dead corpses, that wander aimlessly for human flesh.

vampires want blood and zombies want brains....

I guess the main difference is that zombies are the dead reanimated yet they continue to decay and operate at a very basic level, while vampires are the dead reanimated and they don't stink up the place

very simple, zombies do not think for themselves and must take orders from the one who raised them. zombies are also dead/nonliving and will rot.

vampyres have minds of own and can think for themselves. vampyres are undead and will not decompose.

ok but their body would be drain of blood and be replaced by the blood of the vampyre which means that it still flows in their veins. they would be undead, not dead.

Zombies eat kind of as a motor reflex- the most basic behaviour of an animal is to kill and eat. They're just performing a stripped down version of their 'real' self. The eating doesn't rejuvenate them, they're just animate corpses.

Vampires, as explained above, are nourished by the blood they drink, and are sustained by the 'infected' blood flowing in their veins from the original source who turned them.

Well, it depends on what you go by. There are many different legends between the two different creatures.

Some say, Zombies rise when evil spirits decide to take over the body of recent dead.

Are you comparing real vampires or fictional vampires to zombies? There are certain drugs used by shamans to induce a zombie state in living human beings.

*sigh* I hate movie zombies, Nuzoombies in Vodunism (VooDoo) A zombie is a person that gives up full control of their very SOUL, to a voo doo priest or sorceror(sp? don't really care) They essentially become slaves, to do the bidding of that person. They still feed on normal things, can do everyday things. Though they are under the will and command of whomever has their soul. Some people have reportedly been brought back only for a short period to take control of their soul and in turn their body. If the controller of the soul dies without giving their "zombie" the soul, the "zombie" never regains its soul that part passes on. and the zombie may continue to walk or eventually perish.

As for Movie Zombies, They eat anything Human, Flesh, Brains, Hair, muscle, bone marrow. Doesn't really matter. And we all know about vampires. Just had to put in my share about Nuzoombies.

The difference between Vampires and Zombies

Vampire, Vampyre, Vampir, etc.

Vampires are not the undead. The exact meaning of "undead" means a coprse that rises from the grave at night to feed.

There are many type of vampires.
Blood Drinking/Sanguine Vampires
Psychic Vampires(feeds on energy and have psychic abillities)
Psi-Vampires (feed on energy)
Elemental Vampires (feed on the elements, thunderstorms, rain, etc.)
Sexual Vampires
Tantric Vampires (a wee bit different than Sexual Vampires)
Empathic Vampires

Under each of these groups, there are what I like to call sub-races, which a variations of these main groups. What do I mean? There are simply variations, take this for example. Blood drinkers (also commonly known as Sanguine Vampires) are typically known through history as Vampires such as Dracula/Vlad Tepis. I believe that Vampires like that do exist, however, I believe they originated much farther back, if you believe in evolution, try two million years ago, if not, less. The original Vampires were not hurt by sunlight or garlic (garlic, by the way, I find really silly. I am an Elemental Vamp and I love garlic). They are not hurt by crosses or silver, and the only way to kill them, if they can be killed is to destroy their heart completely. They have extremely advanced mental capabilities, such as telepathy, telekinesis, levitation. The Ancients are strong as twenty men, and I do believe Vampires can fly, if only some races.

I also believe that other variations of these "super" Vampires, and the other main groups are close to immortal (can only be killed by the heart being destroyed, for instance), or either have an increased life-span, OR some have the same life-span as human-beings.

Vampires do not have to sleep in coffins. Vampires have souls.

Zombies.

Zombies are truly undead. Zombies do not have souls. And can be killed the ways Vampires are BELIEVED to be killed. Zombies and Ghouls are not the same thing.

Zombies can be raised by the art of necromancy, as can Ghouls. Zombies, can be killed by ONLY a stake through the heart, because you cut of the head, the other parts will still try to find you, because a Zombie is a corpse that has been re-animated by a spell or ritual. They are immune to silver and bullets.

Ghouls.

Ghouls are sort of like ghosts. Almost. Ghouls are re-animated bodies, but they are re-animated by their own, disturbed soul. Ghouls are killed by fire. Ghouls actually have SOME intelligence.

Both Zombies and Ghouls COULD walk around in they day if they wanted to (in the Zombies case, they would have to break-free of the necromancer first), but they would have to remain in the shadows, or go about on a cloudy day. They are VERY sensitive to sunlight.
