How does it effect a collective, or group when a member is split between other beliefs, or practice?

Do people with other beliefs, or practices compromise the integrity of other groups? In what way?

Example, if a person devoted to Christianity, hinted to their coven that God
should be mentioned in group invocation.

How should any conflicts be approached in the collective?

I see too many people yoking beliefs, in with alternative practices, often this very same people are found to be disruptive, and confrontational with their personal ammended docterine.

I do know personally of groups that scoff at such duelistic believers behind their backs, as they open their hands to rendered resources.

Often commercial practices, or " churches" cater to those who fancy themselves multie faithed. Cults often easily recruit such " promiscuous believers".

Could it be impressionable people ( people that want to cover all the bases) that scatter their devotions?

Such persons, I think, never want to get wet. They are constantly dipping thier toes into different pools and never emersing themselves completly, let alone exploring the depths of any concept.

Such a person often has little to bring to a table, because anyone can observe (or easily presume accurately) what the surface concepts are; after in depth study of a parallel field. Of course these people become upset when they bring thier profund experience to the table and find it ignored.

There are some however, who can apply experience from one field to another successfuly. These peoples secondary experiences are often marks of admiration.

I myself seem to be self professed "fence-sitter."
I have dipped in many pools, of which I am unashamed.
It* is* a fear of commitment, as well as a general skepticism towards defining absolutes and truth.

It really depends on the mentality of the collective: In my experiance, the collective usually tried to talk me out of the split, putting the split into a negative light when in reality it really was neither positive nor negative, it was just something that I wanted a change of scene and pace.

Well I do not believe a person can be *Multi* faith . How can you believe in 2 faiths, when one is contradicting the other. there are no 2 faiths that are exactly the same.

I do not claim other beliefs I have my own and yet, I can say I understand and have read and studdy many other religions. My parents felt we should know about them and choose our own belief. and none of my sister or brother have the same belief/religion. LOL

I am wiccan as my mothers ancestors where I am very firm and strong on my beliefs. I respect others so it is no matter to me what one believes in it is what they need to get through just as the rest of us.

Yet I do not Overcommit as it is put. I do not try to force or push my religion /belief on anyone. Yet, If soemone wanted to have a prayer meeting/group or whatever they wish that is fine with me I can either participate or decline respectfully. it is that simple. yet, soem people do try to shove it in your face.

What type of coven are you referring to? Wiccans have them and some vampyric organizations use the term coven but Traditional Witchcraft does not use that term. It is just a gathering of people. It would clearly depend on the group and what the philosophies were. I think you are assuming that all people in a coven or some collective that is not mainstream would not accept that idea but many are Universalists. Some are not but you know when you join a group what their philosophies are, so you don't become a part of it if it goes against the grain. This is the reason people of like mind have groupings for certain beliefs and practices. It would be fool-hardy to come in and try to change something you had to be aware of in the beginning. This is not to say people don't try. When you say "God" you should qualify that you are meaning Christian God and not assume everyone knows by a generic term. It would be much easier to answer if the questions were a little toned down in the use of vocabulary. How can one over-commit exactly, the zealots or fanatics have always existed and I think that is a personal issue quite frankly as to whether the changes would be accepted or the person would be told to go elsewhere since they knew in the beginning what the beliefs and practices were for the "collective."

You can have multiple faiths and practices. Collectively learning and taking from each that works best for you personnally.

Being among others in a social group is eaither, open mindedness, or closemindedness. If they don't wish to hear of your other practices, then you have two choices, remain silent of it, or leave.

You don't have to belong to a practicing organization to hold to your concepts. The deities look at individuals not groups.

The old saying goes to much of a good thing is bad. Personally I believe in what I have found to be self evident in my own life but I never raise the banner and go on a crusade and go overboard, I just look for like minded people or open-minded ones.

That and those who wish to testify being encouraged to " where three are gathered in common faith". It is one thing to expect tolerance for ones beliefs, but another to be expected to be enthuised about a faith that has no relavency to anyone what a believer.

Mythoughts are if a religion wants to convert someone to their belief how possibly can that person have a life experience or testimony as a new convert...to me its mere brain washing unless theres a conection some where in there lives.

I have been in bible studies where one person in the group wants the whole
